In terms of battery life, I have a One X and the biggest battery drain I have the Facebook app. That and Facebook messenger really drain the phone when logged in. Now just use browser and seeing a massive improvement. May help the One too

Got an update for my original HTC One X and now the battery seems to be running out very fast? Went to bed and it was 90%, woke up this morning to find out it was at 10%

You sound like you have a wakelock. You just need to identify what is stopping your phone from sleeping, the you can sort it out. There's an app called wakelock detector (can't remember if you need root or not), or gsam battery monitor. Either should be able to help you figure out what is sucking your battery.

This has probably been asked before but I can't seem to get an answer from O2 retail shops. I am due a platinum upgrade and want the htc one but in black. They are currently only supplying it in silver. HTC and O2 confirmed to me last month as htc international confirmed that the black version was due out in may but as of yet my local stores haven't got it and don't know if they ever will.

Does anyone know the story? And will I ever get my hands on my holy grail? I've no problem trading my platinum upgrade (someone's choice of phone) for the htc one in black unlocked or on O2.

My wife has the HTC ONE in silver and its so customisable. Its an amazing phone. People are speaking re battery life of the device. I'd recommend disabling blink feed and the native twitter and Facebook apps in favour for a third party app. Also disable locations and live wallpapers. They seem to reduce the battery by up to 4% every 10 minutes if set to auto update. If possible set mail to manual retrieve. If you install battery widget reborn or juice defender it'll show you what's battering your battery. Also a launcher like apex launcher r go launcher can help you customise your device and if set correctly can give you less battery consuming widgets and much much more customisation overall on your device.

Guys, I was a bit miffed that the headphones that come with the One don't have Next & Previous buttons, just a single button. But if you use the headphones from the Desire/HD they work just fine and you can skip tracks/radio stations as before.

Did anyone buy a hd media link?

    I bought a
    http://www.expansys.ie/expansys-mhl-microusb-to-hdmi-adapter-black-221378/

It works fine. Not as tidy as a media link, as it has to be connected via HDMI cable to your TV. It's a lot cheaper than the media link though.

I really should know this but, if I update to the lastest official software, do I have to restore any info? As in does it reset it to factory settings when it updates?

I think having a wired connection would defeat the purpose for me.
It would be cool to throw up a youtube clip without having to get up off the couch, thats the appeal for me.

Seems they are around 60 quid. A little on the expensive side and not sure I could justify it.

I've been to 3 and Carphone Warehouse. Both say that they're locked. The guy in 3 explained that the first batch were unlocked but by now they will be locked. He couldn't say for meteor but on 3 they are locked. Is there any return policy? :)

If you want an unlocked just buy one online SIM free. Either way unlock codes are ready to come by

On the off chance that it's locked, do Meteor phones still work on their sister network E-Mobile?
