Proximity sensor on all three of them seems to be buggy, so it ends up muting calls or putting them on them on loud speaker.

Why don't ya just turn those features off and problem solved.

I no complaints about the camera, here are some shots I took with mine.

HTC use an over sharpening algorithm for some reason that doesn't help with overall image quality when viewed off the phones display.

So changing sharpness to -1 or -2 (Off) + Contrast +1 should help with image quality.

I recently tried this with my One X and pictures ive taken lately have had much more of a wow factor !

Nvm, on the desktop just brings me straight to flicker.

Got my HTC One on Monday, after One X the display is much of an improvement, camera quality seems much sharper as well. Phone has a really good feel in hand and battery definitely improved from One X - after over 18 hours of messing aroud with it had still over 30% left. Must say that in my opinion BlinkFeed is useless and annoying - needed to add few screens and change my homescreen as it seems impossible to get rid off. Overall a great phone :D

Getting my replacement one tomorrow, happy days:)

Has anyone gotten the HTC One Double Dip Hard Shell case, and how do you find it?

Are there any bricks & mortar shops in Dublin that sell them?

    TIA.

Just picked one up from Carphone Warehouse in Blanch SC. €24.99 (even though the sticker said 34.99)

Good case. Looks and feels good.

What do people honestly think of the camera on the One then ?
I had an S2 before hand and think the camera was better but maybe its just i havent taken any photos that impress me with it.

Also, the size of the files tend to be circa 1.5mb, my old S2 would of been nearer or 3mb, that to me says lower quality ?

What do people think and is there any special configuration I am missing ?

Also the Zoe thing just takes a burst of photos and then a couple of second video at same time ?

The One camera is the best I've ever used for 'catching the moment', which is exactly what I want it for. I take photos of the kids, and with Zoe I can pick the best frame when they won't stay still. I also create the odd sequence shot and Zoe shares are great. I have uploaded various videos of Easter, trip out to Tayto Park etc which are edited into great memories to look back on in the future.

A higher MP camera will always be better for staged photos in good light and scenery photos, but I would use my digital SLR for that anyway.

Anyone think there's any chance they'll release UPC settings for the TV app so that we can use the TV guide feature?

UPC and Saorview are now available on HTC One TV

Great stuff, hope the Horizon box is there now too, the guide adjustment on the box from the quick surfer I used to use isn't going down well in my house.

I've found the battery to be EXTREMELY disappointing to be honest, I switched from a battered 3 and a half year old 3Gs and the battery life is about the same if not worse. I've put battery save mod on, turned down the brightness and I'm manually turning off Wifi when not in a wifi area but it's still awful. I'm up at 6 for work, by the time I get in at about 6.45 there'll be 6-8% gone already without me even using it much.

I installed Juicedefender a couple of days ago which has helped massively but it saves juice by cutting off data so it means I'm not getting emails or notifications instantly which can be annoying (especially for Ebay notifications)

Is there any chance I've a dud or is there anything else I can do to help the battery?

Configure Juice Defender to enable your data or WIFI every 5 - 15 minutes, that way you won't miss out on any emails. The standard settings in JD don't save that much, you need to customise your settings to get the most out of it.

Yep, ordered from Handtec, waiting since the 5th of April. Hearing good things about Monday tho, apparently they're getting stock. Presumably will be the same situation for other retailers.

Bloved Mastermind any sign of your phone, still no sign of mine!

Has anyone managed to get the navigation working on the one? Mine is just forever searching. It's a joke and a feature I really need.

Hey! Nope, I actually rang them Monday and the guy on the phone just repeated what is on their blog, that they should have stock to cover orders up to the third of April today, with more coming towards the end of this week, and the start of next week. Judging by the Handtec thread on XDA, some people have started to to receive tracking info today. But I'm gonna give them a ring again tmrw cz I ordered a case which is not in stock and would delay my order... So I wanna cancel it. I'll report back tmrw with an update, hopefully good news. When did yu order?

Update: Was in contact with them this morning by phone and the guy on the phone said mine was being dispatched today! Have to say really helpful service... Might be worth giving them a bell, see what the story is.

I dunno about physical shops in Ireland... But I ordered one off Amazon, if that's any help. Yu should check out Urban Armor Gear for HTC One cases aswell.. Look pretty slick.

Juice Defender has actually helped the problem greatly, I just don't want to miss out on anything. I experimented today and turned it off. My battery was at 53% at 1PM with not much use.

Thanks, should the battery on the ONE not be better though? I keep reading how it's second only to the iPhone 5 but my experience is that it is extremely poor.

Anyone else had the same experience?

Personally, I wouldn't recommend Juice Defender. I've used it extensively over the years, and don't think it makes much difference at all....and a lot of people at XDA think the same.

It depends how you use the phone. Chances are, your One is Syncing a lot more info constantly compared to your 3GS. Certain apps might also be causing wakelocks which will drain your battery when you're not using it.

When people say they 'barely touch their phone', it can be totally different to others. Your phone should only lose a max of 1-2% per hour if you're not touching it though.

What works for me is that I turn the data connection off when I'm not using it. Constantly trying to sync data, especially when you don't have a good signal, is a killer. When I'm at work, I can't be on my phone anyway, so I just turn off mobile data, and then turn it back on again when I get a chance to check emails. This may not work for you if you want to be receiving instant messages constantly through the day. Being connected to wifi is also much easier on the battery than mobile data.

That said, you should be able to get at least 4-5 hours screen on time over the course of a day from a charge.

Heres an odd one with the HTC One if anybody else has seen it or can explain it.
I have copied some videos taken on my old phone over to this phone and can view them in the gallery.
When i open up th folder there is one video at the top, taking up the full width of the screen and then 2 per entry after that.

I can play all the videos other than the one at the top. If i delete the top video, one of the other videos moves up and takes up the full width
and when i attempt to play that video now it no longer plays

it comes up with "unable to create video as there was a problem with the original media files" :(

16h on battery (with normal daily use) with just power saver on and no excessive measures taken and i'm sitting happily on 54%. Far better than the One X.

Sounds to me like the layout of the 'events' folder? Have you tried using the top menu to change from 'event's to 'albums'?

That's the only time I can think that the screen has that layout when in gallery.
