Am thinking of playing the Mount Juliet Intermediate scratch cup on 5th May. I really love the course and have a bit of a Grá for the whole estate down there.

It's €60 for visitors or €30 for members. Is it just me, or does that seem like an absolutely scandalous price to be charging? In my own club we pay €7 for our normal weekly competitions, and €10 for the bigger ones.

Played it a couple of weeks ago and while it is a magnificent course in the current climate 60 yoyo's is outrageous.

Still a few spaces left for the Lucan Senior Scratch Cup May 5th
For booking Visit the Lucan GC website
The good weather is finally here!

    Looking forward to it.

Out of interest, I saw a piece on their Facebook page about a new machine for the greens. Could it improve them? Easily the best greens all year.

We got a new iron last year so the greens have gotten even better. They will be flying for the Scratch cup

Don't worry about that. Am at a meeting there tonight so the course committee are well aware of the comments relating to last year's pin position

Played it myself a couple of weeks ago but wouldn't fancy it for a stroke competition, too much of trying to bust the ball!!

Beautiful course, beautiful estate, some great golf artefacts and pictures in the clubhouse so well worth the visit.

    €60 is saucy alright!

I never played there before, so I'm heading down, I figured that's as cheap as it's going to get at the weekend during the summer. Anyone know which tees they're likely to use?

Playing on Sunday as well, travelling up from Cork. I presume it'll be the white tees, never played the course so looking forward to it. Hopefully we'll get the weather as well.

Can a 10 handicapper play off 9 in a jsc?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 680 ✭✭✭plumber77

You'll have to ring the club involved.some scratch cups allow drop downs, some don't.it depends on the club and popularity of the competition really

I presume 5 h/caps are allowed in as per the norm in junior scratch. On the GUI site they have 6-11 as the h-cap range, a misprint I'm guessing
