Improvement now, vis under 1000m, lets see how long it can go for.

Am a small bit lost, what has visibility got to do with it.
Surely it's either snowing or it's not down there
Are you trying to guide in a jumbo jet:D

Best indicator of intensity, rather than own judgement.

The lower the visibility the heavier the snow shower ;)

    Falling steadily in Malahide.

Had a very eerie morning at a funeral today, with snow pelting down in the graveyard around the headstones.

Jaysus, there seems to be a constant fizz up in the Irish Sea. We're seeing the opposite of and IOM shadow. It seems to the emanating from the little island!

Are we likely to see a continuous fizz through the night? Could we be waking up to a Winter Wonderland?

Btw , moderate shower here ( blowing in wind may look like its heavy ) . Covering cars and starting to stick on grass :)

    Snowing in Dublin4
Flakes are melting on impact. Not heavy enough to leave any sort of covering.
I said early I thought no where in Dublin at sea level would have a ground covering.
    Has any where managed it?

I know cars, tops of buildings ect will get a covering, but that's just be cause they lose heat faster.

The ground here seems to be holding up well. Don't think Dublin 1, 2, 3, 4 , 6 , 8 will see any lying snow.

Moderate to heavy snow here outside Kildare town. Roads went completely white in the space of 15 minutes. Proper snow, big flakes. Temp -1C. If this keeps up it could be very interesting in the morning.

The radar is very misleading if you ask me. Nothing falling from the sky here at all, yet radar shows that there is. Shercock Co. Cavan

Was standing at the side of the rugby pitch in Seapoint in a blizzard at 8pm. It was pelting down for a good hour though not sticking - lovely proper flakes that were like cotton wool, absolutely mesmerising. Came home to sandyford to discover major covering. It hasn't melted yet and been snowing fairly lightly tho constantly since

Wind gone more easterly again. I'm calling it game over for myself for tonight. You'd think looking at the radar this evening that the east was getting hammered, but nobody's got more than a dusting.

In fairness, this is what was modeled and forecast so can't be too aggrieved. A dusting is better than a kick in the face I suppose.
