Not really. Diploma level but not degree. As for the aptitude tests I recommend you try a few free practice ones just so that the format isnt so alien to you but you cant really study for them!

Thanks. Yeah I've just been doing a few today. Is it done on a computer? Do they let you use a pen and paper or a calculator or just work it out in your head?

on computer. there is paper provided but there is so much to do am not sure you should be wasting your time on paper! It's very intense but as long as you relax, do your best and if you don't know the answer leave it blank and move on to the next one.

Make sure you register in FAS centre. I got a call today to say I wasn't on the waiting list and until I was I couldn't be offered a place. I was told in SW office I didn't have to register in FAS office once I had done it in SW office :roll eyes:

Anyway, I'll get it done tomorrow, ring them back and hopefully I'll get a place. This is for Dublin course.

Are all you guys college graduates?

I've never been to college. Did a FETAC radio course about 10 years ago. Bit nervous if I do get because I will be starting from scratch. Nearly everyone at my suitability test had previous web or programming experience.

I'm in much the same boat as yourself. I started doing the code academy online course a few days ago to give me some understanding. Been enjoying it so far. It might be worth looking into.

Kirtons? Not far from Bank Hall, I think. And yes - that's St Michael.

I'll tip off my husband now. He's still waiting!

Did anyone hear anything for the Dublin course yet?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,411 ✭✭✭ABajaninCork

Hubby missed a call from them this morning. He's left two messages to call back, but no-one's replied as yet. Nothing on the mail either. This is for Cork.

How did youse get on? Thought the aptitude was handy enough. Not sure about the team player part and how they will judge us on it. The waiting game now.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,411 ✭✭✭ABajaninCork

Good news!! Hubbykins was accepted on to the Cork course which starts next Weds at St John's. He's awaiting the e-mail which they said they'd send, but as yet it hasn't been received...

Mind you. When they called him, they were asking why he hadn't accepted his place. This was after three messages left for them to call him back. Communication isn't great.

Quick question. What should we bring in for the induction day? Just ourselves or what??

Anybody hear anything after last Fridays aptitude?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,411 ✭✭✭ABajaninCork

Was about to put up a question. My husband was accepted for the Cork course and was told an e-mail giving further information would be sent. Nothing's been received as yet, and he left yet another message for them to call this morning. Of course, nobody's called back.

Communication really isn't great. Course is supposed to start in two days, and we still don't know anything. They're supposed to be giving you the tools to start your own business. The first lesson is communication, and keeping the client informed which they appear to have failed miserably on...

My boyfriend got a place! Cant wait for us both to get started.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 71 ✭✭Lock Knife

Congrats to you both. Haven't heard anything myself. Wonder if they let people know if they haven't been accepted or they just wait for the penny to drop when the start date comes and passes :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,597 ✭✭✭Witchie

I hope they have more manners than to do that! I think they just got behind in what they were doing. Maybe not enough people met the initial criteria and they had to try get more people to sign up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 71 ✭✭Lock Knife

I know I was late to the game signing up so maybe the people at Fridays one were fighting for the last few places. And that psychologist guy said we weren't competing with each other  :pac:

were you in the Dublin place on friday? Did you have to stand in line and raise a stick between you all with everyone touching it?
