Status' I fúcking hate with a passion:

    ...

Firstly, does no one on Facetube know how to spell?!?!?
Secondly, Bookface does not actually care about you, nor do most of the people that you randomly added.
Finally, go bang your head off a solid object very hard... God knows you probably couldn't get any thicker.

not personally at you but you've given the example to use so...

I hate, nearly with a passion people calling it Facetube, Bookface or any similar mashup of social media sites

what are you trying to do? be funny? ubercool? look at me i don't even know the name of these sites?

though funnily enough the majority of posts here are about people using txt spk, when a person looks more of an idiot mashing up the names of sites than using text speak

What a big man. Why don't you find out from the person that originally posted about this who their friend of a friend is so you can post that on their wall.

When people I know have done similar things (not quite as extreme thankfully) I've gotten on to others to have a word with them.

Why? Because it makes you feel uncomfortable? I'm only guessing at her motives but maybe she wanted to show her friends the twins she lost as they were never going to get to meet them. And why does she have to be private about her grief?

    This^^^

Actually it's one of the things that the team who deal with people who have still born children or children who die after birth say parents want to do.

They are their children. They love them. They want to show off the fact they existed - they are not showing off the fact that they died.

They are beautiful to the parents and the parents never forget them.

It's not as if you want a picture of dead children, you want them alive and happy and healthy.

If that is however what you've had happen to you, well, you'll fücking do whatever you can to cope. And if a grieving parent showing how beautiful and wonderful their children are upsets you, then it says more about you than them.

Hahaha sorry. I've been infected with the disease but I don't see how I look more of an idiot than a semi-illiterate facetuber writing about his/her boredom... Bookface is a great site other than that. Twitface is a good enough site too... Okay I'll stop now :) Sorry :)

Twitter is a great site. It has offered me a relatively stress-free environment that is an alternative to Facebook. However if my friend would you stop saying things like, "In August, everything will change...."

They're going to start charging people to use their sites unless you fenaygle the gehoyven in your settings and share a status of some kind. I don't think it matters which kind.
I wouldn't wait until the 31st of July if I were you. Better safe than sorry.

ooh youve used the Facebook 'it says more about you' deflection tactic you must be right. How cruel of us not to want to see pics of dead babies

There is nothing wrong with not wanting to see pictures of anybody dead, children or otherwise, but to complain about something a grieving parent does, yes that says a lot about the complainer.

My news feed is clogged up with messages from women congratulating the Irish Womens Rugby team on their Grandslam success.

"Well done ladies, ye have shown the men how it's done"

The majority of women posting this have never watched a rugby match in their life

Kind of like the same congratulations the Men's teams always get when they win something then?

The majority of people posting this kind of stuff have an actual interest in the team they're posting about. In the case mentioned above, the majority posting about it have no interest or have never mentioned the Irish Womens Rugby team in their previous statuses but are jumping on the bandwagon today.

Not from what I've seen. A certain % will follow the team yes but for most "big" wins people will discover a new found interest in a sport they would never usually be into. How do you know that these people don't follow the team usually but just don't post about it? I'd follow golf, and rugby to a lesser extent, but you wouldn't know that at all from my facebook.

Anyway, there is nothing wrong with congratulating a team on a job well done.

I think what stands out to me far more than who or who isn't a band wagon hopper is the whole "show the men how it's done" bit.

Why is that necessary? Were the big, bad men standing on the sidelines sneering at the poor, weak little women poos?

Were the oppressive, chauvinist pigs snarling and frothing at the mouth when the women played the sports game well?!

"Women can't play sports! Are ye feckin mad?! They're far too delicate and pretty and sandwichy make-y!" the evil men bastards would cry!

And they were right, because the whole reason why any woman plays a sport or does anything else is to "show those men how it's done".

Or maybe none of that **** happened and the women involved had nothing but the utmost love and support from various men on the sidelines, be they coaches, Fathers, Brothers, Husbands, Boyfriends, Friends etc. who have nothing but pride and admiration for them?

I'm gonna go with the latter.

In fairness, both genders get insults as if the other gender is bad. It isn't uni-directional. There is a stupid streak. It runs through humanity.

It's fake, that's why it's annoying. It's people pretending to like something for the sake of 'fitting in', and that's especially irritating when you're dealing with grown adults. I dunno about you guys, but I kinda hoped that behaviour would end in secondary school.

In much the same way, I remember playing some Macklemore & Ryan Lewis tracks to some mates MONTHS back and getting a bit of a "Meh..." reaction, now everybody loves them (I'm a DJ so that happens quite a lot with new songs). Why? Because everybody else loves them. I'm a bit over them now myself, and they irritate me more because the same people who sneered at them months ago are now acting like musical aficionados when all they listen to is FM104.

Their opinions have no weight. They're childish, fickle people reliant on others to tell them what to like and dislike because they don't have the balls to make up their own minds. Not only does that make me respect them less but those weak values could also extend beyond merely liking music or women's rugby. What if I wanted to do something that went against the grain of popular public opinion? Would their opinion of me change because other people think something else? Are these people really my friends, in that case?

    That's what's annoying about bandwagon-hoppers.

Definitely nothing to do with the fact that RTE rarely show any ladies rugby matches. They only aired this one as they knew the Irish team had a good chance of winning.
