Just curious, did Kerry or Cork get much snow in 2009 and 2010?

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭ninebeanrows

ECM is very interesting at T48hrs with the cold into NI and the northeast of Leinster.

The Met.IE will be quaking in their boots when they see it :P

Disruptive snow fort he capital? Possible.

that was an encouraging forecast on the radio a few minutes ago.
"rain may turn to snow in northern and eastern areas as colder air is drawn in"
Hang on to your towels and don't throw them anywhere yet!

12 ECM has better uppers for the northeast than the GFS, UKMO and GEM for Friday (48 hours).

What's the chances of snow down here? Looking at the various runs it looks to my untrained eye that we'll see nothing but rain.

    Very unlikely in marginal setups.

Yay, something nice in hold over Cooley!

40mb difference with that low between the GFS and ECM at 72 hours.

ECM looks most similar to GEM at the moment.

96 hours, still a close match with GEM.

Nice but barely a dusting. The east had feet of the stuff for weeks prior to Christmas.

Since when did the BBC ever have anything positive to see about Ireland??? Wouldn't listen or watch that crappy broadcaster.

What would that chart bring for Ireland? I'm assuming the WEST part is significant!

    Right ECM very impressive.

I would love to see some other charts. Dewpoints, surface temp progs, etc...

    Shameful forecast from the BBC.

Whole of the island of Britain covered for Friday. Nothing for us.

I could cry looking at the BBC forecast the whole of the UK in a white blanket for Friday:mad:

I wouldn't get too caught up on what the BBC are saying.
This is extreme for them and their whole focus will be on that.
The models are what's important and we remain primed from Friday night on
Snow is looking almost inevitable now and all 3 agree on that
It's just a matter of how much and will it lie
    Awesome ECM yet again btw

Patience it will come. I expect lots of angry people in parts of more eastern England come Saturday as the front will not make it as far as them.

Although some areas of Wales and west Midlands are gonna get plastered.

ECM brings northern Leinster and Ulster back into the pot and then throws in a load more potential snow events.

    Exciting times ahead.

Having a cold frozen UK is going to help us!

ECM and GEM closely matached out to 144. Very different to GFS.

Potential for Greenland high even if it doesn't happen on this run.
