My mother got my father a beautiful gold dress watch a few years ago. A boutique brand, all mechanical, absolutely gorgeous. He looked at it on Christmas day and said, "Oh that's beautiful! But I can't wear it cutting the grass, can I change it for an Omega. It's the James Bond watch, you know."
I started reading this and was like 'wow, your parents have such a liberal and understanding relationship.' :pac:

I got my husband a new iphone a few weeks ago on the understanding it was his christmas present - but now I want to buy him stuff as I'll feel bad on Christmas morning! Poor thing is stressing out, when we got married we decided to have a joint account - he doesn't get how buying presents works when I'll know how much they cost, I've been trying to explain it's not the money and I won't be combing through our internet banking to check up on him!!

Sitting watching The Obesity Clinic while eating a bar of chocolate - not quite making the impact it should be on me I reckon :o

Jaypers, so it's not a straight forward, you need surgery type thing? My surgeon wants the physio to see what progress I made.

I had the most horrific experience about five minutes ago. I was showing OH the photos of the evil exercises, and noticed it says 3 x 15 reps, 4 x per day!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

I can't even manage 1 x 15 reps of each without feeling nauseous!

And there I was thinking I'd done well to do 1 x 15 of both exercises three times today :(

It ended up that surgery fixed the problem which was the locking in my knee and the fact that it used to just go from under me, its just I didn't expect the recovery to be four months.

Got absolutely screwed over in work today, trying to put another 2.5 hours of planning and preparation - so p*ssed off about the whole thing, I was furious coming out of the meeting, basically getting this sh*t put on me because of the guy doing it wants to prove that he is doing something with is and is worth his paycheck when in fact he is a f*ckwit, not my words, someone elses. My department are super though, really pissed off for me, which makes me feel better, couple of them came up to me and said not to not worry about him, that they will stand by me.

Nailed the presentation, huzzah! I really love getting positive feedback and encouragement, it makes the whole day better :)

Also got an essay back and did really well in it so happy times all around :)

Just in the door now and I have work in half an hour, agh. It's only for three hours so it shouldn't be too bad. Serving drinks again though so dodgy territory :P

I also got a friend request on facebook from my cousin who lives in Canada-she's in her late thirties and I haven't seen her since I was three. I accepted her and she sent me a lovely message about how she was home in Ireland last week and went to visit my family and was sorry she didn't get to see me. She said that she searched for me on facebook and when my information came up she was not at all surprised that I'm in university or studying abroad in the college I'm in this year because I was a precocious child, it's so strange talking to her when I can hardly remember having met her but she's lovely. She sends me over a card on my birthday every year too, she's so thoughtful.

ARGH MY BOSS IS SUCH A CRAZY BINT! She sacked the practice manager today... this is the same practice manager who tried to leave 2 months ago and was begged to stay, she couldn't be without her etc. etc. Madness!

    Oh yeah it's true.

My sister told me some other humdingers from her work place but I can't remember them from the top of my head. Not quite as bitchy as the slim fast but yeah.

My OH just tells me what he wants. Way easier, cos he is so difficult to buy for without hints. (And nerdy stuff is surprisingly expensive. One year he asked for the complete flora of France, 150 euro!)

One very rude guy in one place I worked in got "how to make friends and influence people" another got "etiquette for dummies" and the girl all the guys drooled over, got some indecent red underwear.

This was all opened and displayed in a yearly horror of badness.

Someone who I thought was a friend said something that really upset me earlier. I've talked to a few people online who said all the right things and put Leonard Cohen on and now I'm feeling relaxed at least. It's amazing what a little understanding, beautiful music and the sexiest voice on earth can do. :o

Seeing the other girl I'm gonna be bridesmaid with looking AMAZING on fb has taken the shine off my Supermacs earlier. We used to be the same, the tall booby slightly overweight two, now she's the lean fabulous one and I'm the same as I always was! Need to get back on my bridesmaid diet, I was doing so well until work took over my life for the last month.

    Humph :(

Nope I had a stomach bug last week, I'm not one of those that loses weight quickly if I'm sick, maybe a pound or two but it's back again a few days later. My friend was sick last week when I was and she's now 4-5 pounds lighter, grrr. The only time I ever lost weight from being sick was when I lost over half a stone in 3 days with tonsilitis  I just need to get back to going for walks and stuff, and toning up the old arms, have a pet hate of bridesmaids in strapless dresses it fat arms!

I was having a drink in Mt. Wolseley once and a wedding party arrived. One of the bridesmaids was a big girl and the dresses were strapless and didn't look particularly well-made and I swear to God, her back boobs were bigger than my front ones.

I actually felt sorry for her, she looked so uncomfortable. The whole time they were in the bar she was constantly pulling at the top of the dress.

I went to McDonald's twice this year, for the first time in about six years and I came out hungrier than when I went in, the food in there isn't filling at all.

Once I finish all the Christmas shopping and get back to having enough money to buy ingredients, I shall be making my favorite treat other than cheesecake.
    Behold!

    Chocolate Guinness Cake
    31709chocguinness1.jpg
I've made it twice before and it is absolutely deliscious with cream cheese frosting. Feck, the picture is making my mouth water.
I need to stop thinking about cake...
