Can anyone on 02 send and receive pic messages on this phone yet? O2 are telling me to download the connection set up app from the marketplace. I cant find it. Is it there??

I had the same problem. Downloading the Network App from the Marketplace did not work for my Lumia. A 'Guru' could not solve it either. It has been with Fonemenders for almost two weeks. They tried all their solutions but none worked. Today I was contacted to say that Nokia got in touch re software and that it is fixed. I wait with bated breath. I'm with O2 as well. It seems to be a common problem. The guy in Fonemenders had 4 Lumias in front of him with the same problem.

Must be an issue with O2 as I had this problem before on Vodafone but once the Network Setup app was run it worked.

Anyone having any issue with the battery life in the Lumia 800?

I have mine since the day Vodafone released it (1st of Feb I think) and over the last few weeks I've noticed the battery almost gone by about 5 o'clock.

Summer is my busiest time and I'd have been using it more then than now and had no such problems then.

I charge it every week night and the little heart symbol would be on by the time I plug it in and often the "critically low" message would be on as well.

I've got all the same stuff switched on now as previously and need them on.

    Suggestions .....

You could try go into settings and switch of all the background apps. Might help. If not you might have to send it away

I had the same problem a little while ago.

You're phones memory is just getting cluttered with apps and crap. I've found that even after uninstalling the apps, the phone is still dying quickly.

My solution was to back up my important stuff, and just reset the phone completely. Now my Lumia lasts all day with Wifi and 3G turned on.

    Hope this helps.

While we are looking at technical issues, my light sensor seems to be knackered. It activates (in a call) when I put the phone to my ear, and the screen goes black, as it should, but it doesn't light back up after I remove it from my ear, and I have to keep trying to cover it, remove my finger etc. to try and trigger it. It's extremely hit and miss, and extremely annoying as I sometimes have to restart the phone because of it. Looks like I will have to bring it in to get sorted in the local Nokia care point.

The advanced diagnostics show that it is malfunctioning too . This is a PITA that I could do without, or else, it's a sign that I need to move on...

    Grrr...

Been playing about with the 'City Lens' for the last week, but only works when using Wi-Fi, and not when using a Data connection. Is this normal?

It will give me my location (in both modes), but not whats around me (when using Data).

Mine works in both modes, shows me whats around me and seems to be mostly based on listings in the Golden Pages (remember that? )

Working well in both modes here too. Great app!

Maybe if the cellular signal is not strong enough it won't function fully, try it in an area with strong reception and see if that helps?

So, there are now rumours that 7.8 could be out as soon as in the next few days. Be great if true.

Apparently it was sent to manufacturers. Don't forget adapting and certification takes ages

Yeah I'd be surprised if it was literally 'within days', but hopefully this means before Xmas is likely.

My mum got a Lumia 800 the other day and she is looking to listen to RTE Radio 1 on it. I've had my 800 for ages now and never used the radio. But I downloaded 'tunein' radio app and I can listen to any other radio station I have tried except radio 1. Goes for her one and mine.

    Any one any ideas?

    Thanks!

As long as she has headphones plugged in she can listen to it over FM by going to the Music+Video player and picking Radio, then just tuning it in.

She can add it as a favourite then.

That's odd, I just searched for RTE Radio 1 and tried it and it works. It also appears under local stations. If you've found it and it just keeps trying to connect, hit the stop button and then hit play.

Just got the Lunia 800 for the wife and have been messing around with it. The phone does not support bluetooth transfer, other than transferring contacts between phones. No other files, be it pictures, music, whatever can be transferred.
It seems like a great phone. Slick, nice interface, etc.
    But this is just stupid.
Why are Nokia constantly trying to shoot themselves in the foot

No Windows Phone 7 phones support this, but Nokia will be bringing out an app at some point that does.

I don't think Apple support this either.

Its not like Apple don't make mistakes, when it comes to phone practicality.
Common sense would tell you, that people use this feature and removing it would put a lot of people off buying the phone. I certainly wouldn't have bought it, had I known.
Its this sort of nonsense that will bring Nokia down in the end.
