If it's not on sale anymore - I'll check properly when I get home - I'm not buying it

They are pretty. However, I am guessing they would be awful uncomfortable to walk in. I think if they have a bit of a platform they will be easier to keep on. Are you used to walking in those kind of shoes? :)

I was in Dundrum last night, they have some lovely KG shoes in House of Fraser. Selection was poor in BT2's though they did give me a glass of champagne :D

I looked at the front page of boards and read through the thread list. I spotted a thread about potato cakes now I want to make them.

Champers? Get you fancy pants. Yep they look higher then they are, I am good with peep toes though.

EDIT: After a bit of googling, I'm pretty sure candida is not, in fact, used as an ingredient of bread.

My sister had a friend of that name. On one occasion she absently called her mother 'Mrs Albicans'...

All ready to head out. I really should be having a quiet one but I reckon a few Irish coffees will make me feel better.

Medicinal. Sure don't they load caffeine into medicine these days, and whiskey is long known for its healing powers.

    Have a good night. :)

I'm definitely jinxed. Driving test tomorrow and race on Sunday and of course I get sick. Anyone know a gypsy who can lift my gypsy curse? :pac:
Do you think that's wise? Motor racing the day after your driving test?...

Ahh, this explains it - clicked on the link from my email account, and saw that there were only three new pages since Wednesday, which was very weird - but thats cos there is a new thread - facepalm

Feeling absolutely wrecked, colleague put her finger on it today that I am fed up - I'm really feeling that this was the wrong decision, there is so much going on at home that I am worried about and missing, there are a few opportunities that are coming up that I can't possibly take because I am over here, and being sick this week has sucked, having no one to mind and no one to talk to makes me feel so lonely. I eat, and 20 minutes after I eat I'm getting a pain in my stomach, and am bent over with it - the girl at work who was out with it said the exact same thing. I find that I can't really talk to anyone at work, I can't seem to get on top of my planning at work, I'm not prepared going in and I have absolutely no motivation to get prepared and work at home the night before to get prepared. I'm just so shattered, and so I really wanted to have a good week this week, felt prepared at the start of the week and it just went downhill after that. But its the lack of being able to have a heart to heart with someone in person. Tried ringing my best friend at home, and can't get through, going to try and talk to someone at work because I just can't go on like this, going to talk to the colleague who said it to me today

That is quite interesting. My issue with that was actually mentioned at the end of the article - a lot of people won't bring their pets for yearly exams if they think they don't need to vaccinate. I've never seen an adverse reaction to a vaccination I have to say but I know it does happen.

Ah, the perils of working at functions that involve serving drinks when you don't speak good conversational French and know nothing about alcohol!

Case in point: a French lady came over and was trying to decide between red or white. She asked me if the white was dry, and I thought I misheard her because it sounded ridiculous so I asked her to repeat herself three times. Ended up having to trust my gut instinct and said something along the lines of "well, it's a liquid, so I think that it's far from being dry!" So. Awkward. I didn't catch any of her response but I think she was really offended, my boss came over in stitches later so at least I'm not in any trouble. Definitely going to loo, up what "dry" means with respect to alcohol though!

Really want to go to the cinema tonight but I don't know if anyone can come with me. Normally I'd just go on my own but even if I take the metro it would involve at least ten minutes of walking in the dark on my own and I wouldn't feel safe.

Give yourself a bit of time. My doctor has told me a couple of times that any bit of sickness will knock you out mentally for a good few days, even up to a week after your body has recovered. You might have no physical symptoms but you just won't feel right. The important thing to recognise is that you're still sick because the mental downness is absolutely part of the sickness. Take care of yourself and try and take things easy for the next few days. You could very well be thinking negatively for a day or two and feel much better, or at least clearer by next week.

Which cinema? If you go to Les Halles you don't have to go above ground to get to the cinema.

Went to see the Christmas lights being turned on tonight, starting to feel Christmassy :)

Rebel girl I feel for you. I've been in a job I hated before and it's not really worth the stress it causes you. If you're really that miserable and you don't think it's just a bad day/week/month then just leave, it's very easy to get caught up in all the what ifs but if you're really unhappy it doesn't matter, have to put yourself first. I read here more than I post and it's jumped out at me before that you often sound lonely and stressed about living there, my best friend was in a very similar situation before and we ended up sending her brother over to talk her into coming home, she's much more herself now.

Speaking of bad weeks, thank CHRIST this one has ended. Wine o clock!

WS I really lolled! For future reference, if someone wants a dry wine they want one that's not sweet like chardonnay, recommend a sauvignon blanc :)

Lovely and warm at home; wish I could take the weekend off work and just not move from the couch!
