That was two weeks ago and I sent the form off straight away and I still haven't heard from them? I worked my ass off all summer and I'm starting to run out of savings so I'm kind of screwed if I don't get it soon. Anyone else in a similar situation?

I have to send back the form of acceptance. So how does it get into my account I don't remember giving them my bank details or is there another form they send after?

Following assessment of supporting documentation if an applicant is awarded, they will receive an awarded letter in the mail. The letter will outline their award and instructions on how to submit bank account details online, if maintenance payments are applicable.

The bank must be one of the following: Bank of Ireland, AIB, Permanent TSB, Ulster Bank, EBS or National Irish Bank. Note the bank branch must be in the Republic of Ireland.

I was just wondering, are SUSI going to back date us on the money we've missed?

I started college in early September but I only entered my bank details this Thursday. A friend of mine started college the same time as me and got his grant this week, but hasn't been back dated any money so far.

If a student is awarded too late for any of their instalments i.e. after a payment cycle has run for that month then they receive their all backdated payments due in their first payment.

For example, if a student does not receive their first maintenance payment until December, they will receive September, October and November. They would receive payment for December in January. (Paid one month in arrears).

Edit: I've entered my bank details after receiving the letter about it today. When can I expect to be paid?

When I was on the phone to SUSI last Friday they said once I get my letter (they said Monday or Tuesday of this week, got it Tuesday. Details went in Tuesday night) I should have my payment the following Friday, the 23rd. I hope it's there next week!

I received my letter stating my award on the 25th of October, I entered my bank details that day and as of yet i have still received no payment at all. I dont expect to be receiving 1 tomorrw either as people who have received payments seem to get an e-mail from SUSI saying they will be paid on the friday, Im starting to think I wont see it this side of christmas. Iv given up ringing as they have told me they will get a supervisor onto it and they will contact me, again nobody ever has.

If that money is not in my account next Friday, I will go crazy especially since I asked and that was what I was told. Once I got my letter from the VEC's the past three years, I would get it the next payment date and if I was due to be back paid I was and never had problems. I was told that date and I'll be seriously pissed if it isn't there. I'm banking on that money.

I wonder was it because you missed the October payment which was on the 19th? And you're due to get it the next one which I was told was the 23rd. I do hope you get yours soon also. How long have you been waiting for a call back?

Iv given up ringing them at this stage, iv sent e-mails and never once received a reply either, i was told two weeks ago that i should get my payment last friday and to keep checking my bank every day, obviously it wasnt there! I take everything SUSI says to me with a pinch of salt now, they have been paying students every friday since 19th of october to try and get payments out, people will be paid tomorrow also but i wont hold any hope out in being one of them!!

I really hope your payment is there next week for you, i know how you feel i am counting on that money just to cover my petrol every week and help with childcare im behind with rent and everything now at this stage:(

How amazing would it be if you woke up tomorrow and it was in your account?! :P I've always had my calls answered. (After waiting time of course) and my emails also. (The longest I waited was a week for a reply) They are ridiculous at getting back to people. I was tempted last time to give my name and number and let them get back to me because I was sick of waiting but having read about people here not having calls back, I decided against it.

You seem in a worse situation than myself due to falling behind on rent and childcare. I don't have those to worry about. But I've my travel expenses and books. I haven't been able to get one yet! And by the time I will (IF I get it next week) there are 3 weeks left in the semester...

I was told a few weeks ago that i was approved every bloddy form handed in bank details entered online. Now thats grand. Ring them a few days ago to see where the letter is. A respone from susi "Ahh where just having a bit of problems with the people who havent handed in there right forms yet so that is why the delay is" now that is a load a bull. Why did they change the system from last year. Not a problem in the world last year. Came every month. So she said that i could be waiting another month for this letter. Does that mean i wont get the next payment. They dont answer there emails. Takes a half hour to a hour to reach them on the phones. A JOKE. Had to move out of my student accomadation because of the grant being delayed. So its gone on long enough. Something needs to be done.

Which letter are you waiting on?

I thought after the bank details stage you don't receive anymore letters? I heard a few people saying they got an email to say their payment was lodged though.

Rang them up yesterday they now apparently need a copy of my leaving cert results and a letter from my old school stating I attended there. This is the first I have heard of it and it seems ridiculous considering I am a masters student and I have already given them a copy of my results and proof of attendance. Anyone else in the same boat as me or am I just being messed around, I still have no student card and can't access the library despite a lot of work being due soon.

That is ridiculous! Why need your leaving results when you are at masters level?!

Why in the name of f**k do SUSI keep losing my f**king forms
This is the third time they have sent me a letter looking for forms that I have sent in already. It's an absolute joke altogether.

I received an email back from one of the committee members with a transcript of the meeting if anyone is interested.

    http://oireachtasdebates.oireachtas.ie/debates%20authoring/debateswebpack.nsf/takes/dail2012111300043

I rang SUSI about an hour ago and I was only held on for 8 minutes, I got the same story, application is gone for review and theyare not giving out timescales of when this will be completed. The girl was nice though and I am sure they are working very hard. Problem is they probably don't have enoguh workers.

What do you mean by this on the one hand you say this is the first I have heard of it and in the second line you say you already gave them a copy of your results and proof of attendance. Which is it?

These items were requested in the initial information pack becuase I distinctly remember contacing the school to obtain a letter of attendance.

Are they the proper forms, in the meeting the other day they were saying that people are sending back documentation that is incomplete and which does not cover the full year. You would be well advised to speak to a student representative in your college who may be able to advise you in regards this respect.

You should get another payment this month as they said at the committee meeting the other day that they would be making weekly payments until they got the backlog sorted.

Usually paid out October to June. So if you have one, it would be for October and the next one will be later in November.
Can I ask when you entered in your details? I would like an idea of how long people are waiting?

I got my letter on Tuesday and entered the details that day. When I was on the phone last Friday, the lady told me I was approved and will get a later soon (which I did on Tuesday just gone) and I would be paid on the 23rd. I've seen people who entered theirs weeks ago and since haven't gotten a payment.

I got my award letter at the start of the week and entered my details the same day. I can't remember if it was Monday or Tuesday. I was really hoping it means I will get the first payment this month. It's been such a long process, struggling to pay rent and childcare every week, then you log in to the grantsonline page and when you see you first applied in June, it is very sickening it is now November and it is only just near sorted for lots of us.
