I have heard that ITs sent in attendance records but I don't think universities do. I don't think large colleges or unis in Ireland keep attendance records

No one really keeps records in DIT, for my course anyway. Some lecturers do send around an attendance sheet, some dont.

Most of them say they keep the attendance sheet to themselves only for exam time marking purpose only to see wheather you attended lectures or not.

I used to check this thread every single day sometimes twice a day after I got my letter of acceptance. I was beginning to think I would never receive my first payment. I was checking my bank account twice a day for about 3 weeks!. I finally got an email from susi last week saying:

monthly instalment of your Grants Payment of ***.89 is being lodged to your account on 09/11/2012

Checked my balance and it was there. Delighted

Didn't have to do anything regarding attendance.

    Hope this helps

How long were you waiting for your first installment after you received the letter stating what you got?

When did you send off your FCAF? and how long after sending it did you get asked for bank details?

Is it 2 months that you got this months or just 1? Surely if we are getting our first payment in November we should be getting 2 payments for September and October? I just dont know anymore SUSI have a different story every time I ring them its just pointless at this stage :(

I sent off my FCAF on the 10/09/2012. I was then asked to enter my bank details online on the 9th of October. When you get the confirmation letter stating what you got, they will tell you to enter your bank details.

I was only paid for the month of November. I got no backpay for October. Kinda sucks. I guess they give you whatever you missed on your final payment.

Sh*t I might get in contact with them, I haven't really thought about it, I was just so relieved to get it. But then again, November isn't over and they might pay me later on in the month.

I would ring them, but i would say more than likely you will get another payment later on in the month!!

Yeah, it's more than likely that Novembers payment date just hasn't come around.

I was on the phone to them on Friday. Lady said I was awarded on Friday and letter was sent out and I should get it today or tomorrow. (Hopefully tomorrow or there will be another phone call ) I then asked her when I would get my first payment and she said that if I enter my details in when I get the letter I should get it the following Friday which I assume is the 23rd. Maybe that is Novembers payment date.

Got word back from SUSI today, saying Award 50% Tuition Fees and 100% student contribution (subject to maximum 3135) Maintenance Grant €0.00

Does that mean they will pay half my college fees but nothing towards my 'expenses'? Sorry, for my ignorance, just thought I would get something towards expenses and not sure what difference is in tuition fee and student contribution

This means you will be getting half of your tuition fees paid and all of the student contribution, up to a max of 3135. No maintenance every month though.

Hi, yes that means that they'll only pay for some of your fees, no maintence grant. You can appeal if you think that you should have got a maintence grant. Tuition fees are fees which are paid by people that are not first time under graduates. Student contribution is payable by everyone that doesn't get a grant to pay it and it is 2,250 euros this year.

Hello. I rang them last week and they said they have everything and now im waiting for the letter to say how much i am receiving and that. Does anyone know when the grant is issued during the month cause i know im not the only one saying this but i am struggling for rent and stuff for college it's an absolute joke of a system and to be honest how do you expect one company like susi to hold all the grants for every student in Ireland is a joke. Another governement DISASTER

    Are you a postgrad student?

I am in the same position as you. I have been awarded the 3025 over one month now with bank details entered also one month ago, I have appealed since I should be eligible for special, however today a SUSI guy told me

"The reason your have not received any money at this point in time is possibly down to the fact you have appealed your awarding. Many applicants who have appealed are experiencing this sort of delay.
Payments are made on a Friday toward the end of the month. So there is also a chance you just missed the deadline for Octobers payments."

I have no doubt that i should get it as we only get child benifit and one parent family payments (which is a requirement for the special rate) which are both not included in calculating the reconable income mean that the amount they would be calculating is 0 euro even so they still don't exceed 15,000 euro

Ask them to review the decision. You want it reviewed before you appeal it.

I got a letter last week that i have been awarded a full maintenance no adjcacent grant of 3025. Does that mean that the fees to the college have been paid and that is what i got for myslef or is this is the total i got with the fees still having to be paid? Which leaves me with just over 750 euro. And also does anybody know the payments dates or is it different for everyone?

It means they pay the fees to the college plus you get maintenance of 3025. No idea about dates.

My course (arts) doesn't take attendance either considering some of my classes have around 350 plus students in them. My tutorials take attendance though, maybe your course has some element that you're required to be there e.g. a field day etc that's the only thing that they could check up on in your case. (Open to correction, I'm no expert but neither are the SUSI:pac:)
