Have you played LA Noire!?

Micro Machines on the SEGA Game Gear had better handling.

Now that you mention it... Yeah that was pretty bad lol

But maybe they learned from that?

    Copy Paste from GTAForums:

    If it's anything like that..!

Mind you, is anyone else upset about hearing that the car handling/physics have been tampered with? The cars were apparently very 'boat like' and the new physics 'hold the ground better' and are 'more like a racing game'. That all sounds crap. I thought IV was perfect.

    Can't believe it's 6 years since I saw that vid ^

This was the other one people here might remember -

As for the driving, I loved driving in IV. IMO, there's no need to be tinkering with it for V.

Ah come on LA Noire wasn't bad

Haven't really taken it all in yet. It was such a massive influx of information in such a short time.

Would love it to be released March 1st, although I know it won't. 4 more months at least :(

Can't wait to go riding round the city on a bike again:)

    http://gta-xtreme.de/images/informer/32.jpg

From that link just change the number at the end to see some more pics, I think there's a few that weren't in GI start at 1 and go up through them to 34
Hope they allow you to do stunts on the bike :P

    =-=

What are R* releasing before xmas that will get the xmas cash? I find it odd that they aren't going to cash in for xmas.

They're all about the qualities, not the monies

But that wasn't Rockstar, and certainly wasn't Rockstar North. Rockstar just published LA Noire, it was developed by Team Bondi.

I'm glad to see they're tweaking the car handling, that's not to say it was bad in IV in fact I quite liked it especially compared to the rougher versions from previous GTAs but I find myself agreeing with Rockstars assessment that the cars were 'boat like'. This was fine as it was true to life for the larger/exec/American cars but the European sports cars and smaller cars had a bit too much body roll, felt too heavy and were far too eager to understeer into everything for my taste.

Also does anyone know what the last page of the game informer reveal called "BONUS COVERAGE" is? And if it's a video where would one find it? (please PM if you know)

Pity they confirmed they will be no characters making appearances from the ps2 universe of GTA games.
But its a small price to pay for what already feels like the definite GOTY 2013

I think underwater was time wasted on R*'s part. Who's gonna explore the undersea unless they absolutely have to?

It'd be a novelty for five minutes. I'd say there's a submarine in there somewhere that you can spin about in to make things a little more interesting, but even then I don't think many GTA fans ever really expressed an interest in it.

Au contraire, I think the underwater element opens up so many possibilities.

There could be missions where drug smugglers are forced to throw their cargo overboard. You'd then have to dive down with scuba gear to retrieve the loot, whilst maybe fending off other divers (with a knife, spear gun, etc.) or submersibles at the same time.

Or how about having to escape from a submerged airliner after it is shot down? The options are almost endless with the amount of variety that the new map promises.

They say its so that the player can always be involved in the action. Instead of having to be the getaway driver like you often where, you can choose to be the guy shooting out the back of the van.

The minigames dont seem to have been a determining factor. If anything, it sounds like the unique games were decided upon after the three characters were already done.

I would HATE that. Given the choice, I'd never be the guy driving, so I'd miss out on a whole side of the game. Part of what GTA has been good at is forcing you to do every aspect of the game, driving, shooting, chasing, etc.

I seriously have reservations about this multiple protagonist thing the more I think about it. Part of what I love about some missions in GTA are when they're solo... I don't want two AI controlled gob****es following me around all the time, especially since they're invariably crap at everything and you end up doing everything yourself anyway.
Inside and outside areas, rather than just land mass.

I'm hoping for a lot of interiors. I want shopping centres, huge apartment blocks like the ones in Northwood in IV, airports, nightclubs (loved the ones in TBOGT but there needs to be more interactivity and more clubs), bars, restaurants, casinos, some proper clothes shops, random abandoned buildings, hospitals, police stations!

    I WANT ALL TEH INTERIORS!

This is on a side note, would it be better to pre-order online or in store?

I wouldn't even consider pre-ordering until we get a definite release date. I'd also wait until all retailers detail their exclusive content and until R* release details of the inevitable Collector's Edition (I hope they have cool stuff like they did in the Max Payne one!).

I liked the driving in IV too. Thought there was a massive amount of feeling like the cars were big and heavy and had the real feeling if you didnt slow down to take certain corners you were screwed, much like real life.

I loved the driving in IV too. Don't get why so many people seem to hate it. Was a massive improvement over the PS2 era games.

Would be great if you, say for example, finished a long day gun running or collecting materials for a heist, travelling from the mountain area back to your trailer in the desert. Switch to Michael, who's having a drink in a nightclub way off in some affluent area in the city, who is just then checking his phone after recieving a message that reads: "I have the stuff", before leaving the club to do something else

Stuff like that would keep the game flowing nicely

If that the case the heist missions will be a whole new beast. All the planning

The multiple protagonist aspect is just a great excuse to play through the whole game 3 times (not that you need one with any GTA game) :)

Saw a small mistake on the art on the first page of the GI article, the charging handle on his M4 should be a bit further in towards the gun, although it was probably based on an Airsoft M4 AEG, which can have the charging handle back like that while without any effect, although on an Airsoft GBB M4 or RS M4 it wouldn't be possible to have it like that,
Every other detail about the gun is drawn really well though.

Another mistake i spotted is that in real life it is impossible to control people with a game controller. :pac:

Just pointing it out, and other people have been pointing out things, it doesn't matter a bit really anyway though most people wouldn't notice it, although I wasn't going to post it becacuse I knew they'd be a reply like that

Good find. Shows that they used airsoft rifles for models.

T'would be nice if they have an MP3 player / portable radio for you to listen to the soundtrack while you walk about. Too often I'd find myself sitting in the car waiting for a good tune to finish before hopping out :pac:

With all these elements and the supposed vast size of the game I hope they have enough to keep it entertaining and not have big drawn out spaces that are empty and devoid of anything you could have fun with. GTA 4 was big but there really was feck all to do in it besides the missions and rampages.

And the rampages have to fun again, I miss beating people to death with a dildo and a gimp mask :D
