A few years ago, while sitting on my couch, I got a strange 'bite' on my leg and had to be treated in hospital for it. It went into a hard, itchy & sore lump which turned purple. The hospital said it had all the hallmarks of a spider bite. The only thing is, this happened in Ireland.
