    I watched 'The Watch'

I really wouldn't recommend the experience.

No, it's him alright. Sera only likes Steven Seagal movies.

I didn't watch anything, was too busy having a clothing emergency
might watch a Treehouse of Horror before bed, not in the mood for a movie.

No Halloween films for me, although I did watch I Wish which everyone should watch because its ****ing amazing. It's like an arthouse version of The Goonies.

Playing a bit of Assassin's Creed 3. It's had around fifteen openings already, and I still haven't been given the opportunity to climb a tree :(

It's a very shocking animated film involving a pair of dogs escaping from an animal research lab and attempting to get away from the mainland. I'm surprised that it got away with a PG rating in the UK, what with images like this.

Is it worse than Watership Down? Lucky I didn't watch the video, would be crying for days

Content wise, it's a lot more depressing. Plus
they actually feed off a recently deceased man out of desperation for food
. Yeah, it is pretty shocking.

    Secret best Megadrive soundtrack?

Definitely Gauntlet IV. Some really big names behind it using a custom made sound driver. All the tracks are incredible and using some form of black magic the drums sound amazing:

I've got the 1997 star wars trilogy re-release DVD box set here. Now THAT'S scary!

I have Star Wars, the original version before the messing about, before we were encouraged to call it A New Hope, and it's on VHS.
    Nice!

Only problem is I don't have a video player any more!

I have that version too, the original unaltered trilogy was released as "bonus" content on one of the special editions a few years back, copied from the laserdisc versions. I have all 3 ripped off the discs and on my media server hooked up to the 42" telly, and backed up on my backup drive. There's no way i'm losing that, it's getting harder to get those versions now, with all the rewriting of the canon that's going on and analogue copies dying off.

I watched it again last night. It's such a breath of fresh air after all the nonsense that went on in the last 15 years or so.

    Han shoots first! :D

I've got the original Star Wars trilogy on LaserDisc, the one from the 80's as well as the '97 release.
Unfortunately the 80's release has long since fallen to the horror of laserdisc rot :(

Speaking of Star Wars, I see Angry Birds Star Wars is out soon :)

This is the sort of thing that makes me worry about the future of the franchise. Angry Birds used to mean something important to all of us, now it's just being used to shill Star Wars.

You should think about going digital. It's gonna be the next big thing... ;)

On a more on-topic note for the thread, check this out. This guy built a coffee table sized working NES controller from scratch. Excellent.

I always enjoyed playing as Darth Maul in Tony Hawks. Mostly because his special moves were like legal cheating.

Hmm, the messages left on the wall thing was done well before Resi 1 and Portal and Left 4 Dead were hardly the first to do it.

    Gee whiz Retr0!
    Halo 4 incoming!
I'd say the excitement must be at epic levels by now!

Me, I'm a bit M'eh about it tbh....
I have lots of games to play and think I'd rather buy Forza Horizon...
Is there something wrong with me???

I'm more excited about the bag of Doritos I'm currently eating.

But the thing to be MOST excited about is that Dreamfall Chapters has just been officially announced by Ragnar Tørnquist.

    Yes, Yes there is ;)

This is probably the wrong kind of forum for this gush, but i will always buy the next big halo game. I know it's just a shameless cash in by Microshaft and 343 to continue a series that has probably passed it's peak, and i know the gameplay is going to be samey and predictable in parts like it always is, but i don't care. There's something i just love about playing in the halo universe.

The single player modes are the equivalent of a big budget hollywood sci-fi movie, just big mindless silly fun. The multiplayer on the other hand, with the right team and map and tactics on your side, that can be unbelievable fun, and serious sh*t can go down.

I particularly like how halo's multiplayer is a level playing field. There's very little in the way of special perks or weapons or stuff that nobody else has got that tips the game balance. Maps are usually well balanced and fairly laid out, and everybody has the same access to weapons and stuff on them from the word go. By and large, if you lose at halo, it's because you got outplayed, there's no other excuse, and i really like that in a game.

Add the forge mode map editor and the firefight mode, and that's just too much value in an FPS title for me to turn down. I'll be front and centre next tuesday for my copy. I may even be at a midnight launch somewhere if i can suss out a day off work...

I just don't know, I don't bother with the multiplayer aspect of the game so, just like in the previous iterations, I get a couple of days of gameplay and that's that.
Then again, I suppose I can swap it for Forza Horizon then via Adverts!

Season 2 out on Blu-Ray soon. Finally getting to the good episodes.
Hopefully they'll keep bringing them out as quickly as this.

I know what you mean. I found myself going off the multiplayer somewhat over the last few years because I can't spend hours and hours playing and staying frosty enough to keep up with kids who can spend all day playing. After a few weeks, the online lobbies are full of people better than me and the game becomes frustrating, you're basically cannon fodder for students, alcoholics, and the unemployable who are online 24/7.

Finding people of your own age and skill level to party up with is important to getting good games when that starts to happen. Also the firefight co-op modes have been getting pretty fun over the last couple of games. They're more teamwork focused and less competitive, and can be very enjoyable if you get a good tactical team together, one that likes to communicate with headsets and co-ordinate their efforts instead of running off like headless chickens with the best weapon on the map and getting killed.
