Nope, I'll wind up buying it, playing it to the finish, then trade it in for something else.

ah yeah , annoyance .'Wreck It Ralph' is out tomorrow,..buuut the UK/Ireland release date is pushed back to Feb next year .F£$K that , money I would have paid for the tickets goes to charity , and the I'll watch the game cameo bits once they're up on Youtube.I'd say this'll have the sh£te torrented out of it by the time its finally pushed out in this neck of the woods....

Well, the biggest thing that happens is by the time the cinema release hits Ireland the DVD is out in the US so some more unsavoury folk, not like the kind around here, can just hit the bittorrent network and download the bugger.
If previous Disney/Pixar films are anything to go by, if you don't mind it not being DVD/HD quality you will probably be able to download it by the following weekend, complete with photoshopped DVD cover!

On a slightly brighter note, I have been waiting 4 weeks now for 3 Famicom titles to get here from France, Commando and Starforce and Raid on Bungeling Bay, and I sent an email a fortnight ago and was told they were sent.
I sent another this morning and got a far more conciliatory reply, saying they'll resend them....
Now, I'm thinking, they either happen to have those articular three games in stock or...
More likely they never sent them in the first place!
So, fingers crossed I'll have them early next week.

I'm also awaiting SMB and SMB3 for the Fami, but at least they are coming from Japan, a place from where packages can take 72 hours or 3 weeks, depending on gods knows what!

Yeah, for some really idiotic reason, Disney always seem to delay their foreign releases. I had to wait for ages to see Toy Story 3, which in the meantime, I had to avoid spoilers for it online. Hell, if I recall, I think it was almost a year after its US release that Beauty and the Beast finally came out over here.

Now, now, let's not be too hasty here, just because it's been delayed.

Steve, not honestly say that is the creepiest thing I have ever seen, and I've seen photos of Retr0 in a dress, anyone who buys such a thing should not pass go, should not collect 200 pounds and should go straight on the sex offenders register, just in case.

Does anyone here have an AV Famicom?
Reading about it online and seems there's issues with the picture quality apparently. Don't know whether to go AV, Twin or Titler!

I AV modded Atavans Famicom, I tried a few different configurations of the amp before settling on what I thought gave the best image. The type of tv can also determine the quality, some being better than others. It's kinda hit & miss

Did you come across the problem of the vertical lines on-screen with the AV mod?

I did yeah, but I tried a slight variation of the mod & it reduced them to barely visible on my tv. Not sure how it looks on Atavans, but on my end I got them reduced to virtually non existent. As I said though, the type of tv people use seems to vary the results, there doesn't seem to be a science to it or a one for all solution.

I honestly can't say, its all trial & error with that mod

I did, I took a shower afterwards with a bottle of domestos and a brillo pad before deleting my history in case that page is ever found, we'll have to come up with an alert to ensure people know to use "incognito" mode before clicking the link!

Oh, and speaking of the minutiae of japanese culture, happy birthday to our resident Nippon-a-phile Johnny U!
Born in '87 he just missed the hey day of the Spectrum 48k and the C64, but he did turn up in time to cut his teeth on the Amiga and ST, so not all is lost!

So I got an email today from Amazon pushing back the delivery of my boxset The Sky: The Art of Final Fantasy to mid December.

With it being a limited run of 1,000 I have a feeling I might not get one, and I had pre-ordered it for £56 vs the RRP of £105 and the current Amazon price of nearly 90.

If they cancel it I might just have to set my internet lawyers on them.

I ordered one too and mine hasn't been pushed back yet. Though I'm fairly certain I won't be getting one at this stage. In fairness dark horse never told any of the retailers that it was limited to a 1000 copies so pretty much every online retailer is massively over ordered.

was playing cards yesterday and got a lovely little ebay notification in on my phone, my Neo Geo lot had sold.
I thought it was strange as I hadn't got any new offers and then I checked it the listing. It had gone for the full asking of €1200 and I was very happy but it was immediatley followed by a lingering sense of dread.
Why didn't he/she try and get me down on the price? It had an offer on it.
72 hours later and not an iota of contact from the potential future addition to my Christmas card list. Oh the buyer only has a feedback of 3 as well.
Looks like that Famicom AV or Twin is a no go now.
I was so looking forward to a splurge on Nintendo and JNTSC saturn and maybe even 3DO stuff.
On the plus side, found a mint red ds lite in my girlfriends house yesterday that I'm getting to keep for keeps. 3 great games; crossword puzzler, puzzler world and brain training.

Misread this earlier, I was looking to get a top loader famicom know as the AV Famicom not AV modding a famicom.

Do please try to keep up Mr. Enternow :p

I've one of these, though it's new in the box and I haven't used it yet, so can't help you with regards picture quality. Hadn't heard anything negative anyway. My Twin Famicom is my main workhorse for Famicom/Disk-System games right now

Sure. Sean Quinn has been locked up now, so I need someone new to represent.

I'm packing up the Neo Geo stuff right now and sending it on you to finalise the deal.
    What can go wrong.

That's a fair collection of Neo Geo stuff to shift in one go, would you not sell it easier by breaking it down. There's nothing worse than some clown buying it and not following through with payment.

He might have a few quid spare to buy it, he'll need something to while away the hours behind bars.

I was stung by a bogus bidder also, see here. The only thing you can do is use the eBay Resolution Center. You will need to do this otherwise eBay will charge you there max amount for sellers fees, approx Eur200 for a Eur1200 bid, at the end of the month. It takes 7 days to get it sorted.

It is other ebay sellers that are selling similar items to yours, that are setting up bogus accounts and bidding on auctions they have no intention of paying for. Essentially, they're eliminating the competition.

This is not a new thing and eBay are doing next to nothing to stop it. It's a dirty practice.
