Just received the email telling me to download the final course acceptance form, however their server appears to be broken because the download link is not working. Probably overloaded I suspect.
Anyone else with the same problem?
Anyone got the pdf downloaded that could post it online or would not mind emailing on?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

The link is not producing a pdf download on a mac with either firefox or safari, I just get a blank page.

Just tried it from the iphone works perfectly. So looks like they have not made a mac compatible website, somehow I am not surprised!

I got asked for the FCAF over a month ago, today I got asked for a letter looking for more documents, I'm at the end of my teather with all this as I have no computer access in college and I'm supposed to be handing up assignments and projects already. Its a shambles. I'm thinking of dropping out at this stage.

I sent in my FCAF in early September and no word, tried to call SUSI and wasted nearly a fiver on hold, I just wanted to know what the story is with my application. It's a joke, I am so fed up of waiting to get word from them, what was so wrong with the old county council system?! :(

Guys I got my letter this morning saying
Awarded: 100% tuition fees and 100% student contribution
    Maintenance: 0.00€
Does that mean my fees are paid?

    Yes

However if your college has a levy e.g. UCD have an annual levy of about 200 for a student - this doesn't get paid

Had to also send my documents off again this morning. All by registered post, so no excuses when I ring them in a week.

Rang susi again today. Was told my documents are waiting to be assessed! I applied on the 18th of June. It's an absolute joke. They asked me for documents and then told me no they needed different ones. Eventually after that time wasting I was asked for my final course acceptance, sent that in three weeks ago.
I'm giving it another week and I'll be writing a strongly worded letter to a lot of people.

I got a letter asking for a final course acceptance form and my mother's social welfare statement. The thing is that i sent a final course acceptance form in already and my mother does or did not get any social welfare.

Why are they asking for these anyone know?

theyve obviously got your details wrong

Their telephone charges are unreal. I have already spent €20 (at least) on phoning them and today it took 29 minutes of waffle and no result. I started to get the feeling the guy was trying to keep me on the line for longer without getting any information about the status of my application from him.

Update - My application has been "escalated to a supervisor". He told me that about 10 mins into the call. I am starting to get cynical.

I am still awaiting a reply as they said that the letter sent out (exact copy of the one sent in August) was a mistake, but could not clarify if they had received all my documents as they could not get on my file on the computer. Mine has been apparently escalated to a Supervisor.

A complete farce in my opinion.

Ringing up now and asking when the first payment is due, this has become a routine at this stage.

Please help!!!!! My son went to college in august we applied for the grant through susi when the grant system opened but we still haven't recieved anything from them. I rang two weeks ago and they told me to send in his final acceptance form which i had. I rang again today and was told that his doucmentation was waiting to be reviewed i asked haw long he'd have to wait now but they couldn't say. I'm at my wits end we have no more money to give him his rent is due today. What are we going to do, where can we go for help. This system is seriously flawed. Can someone point me in the right direction.

I can only suggest going to St Vincent de Paul. And also pester SUSI. Ring them constantly. Ask your TDs to do this too.

Hey all, I was wondering if any one knows what this means. I surprisingly received a letter from SUSI this morning dated October 9th and it said (to my delight) that, (as a postgraduate student) I have been awarded 100% tuition fees AND 100% student contribution (subject to a maximum of €6,270). Does this mean that I get the 2000 AND 6270 off my fees?

I phoned up and the poor girl hadn't a clue. Any insight into this would be great.. Thanks allot!

Got an E-mail Yesterday saying they'd lodge my first payment into my account tomorrow, the 2nd..

I'm just curious, what does that mean then, that they're gonna pay me my next installment later on this month?

Anybody know if there's a set monthly date for everybody or does it vary or something??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 angelaq99

Wow thats brilliant, got my award letter last thursday and entered my bank details then but still no word of when i will get paid, i have rang them countless times and they cant tell me for some reason :/, i read in a few places the November pay date is 23rd and December is 21st, but to be honest after all the hassle i have had from them i wont expect it until i see it in my bank account

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7 Jordan_G

Yup, I didn't think that it would actually come in, but I checked it there and it is already in my bank account, so unbelievably they stuck to their word (For once) got my first payment just there. Think it came in at 12.00

I applied when it first opened and sent all my stuff away in september (had to wait for deferred exam results) and still haven't heard aaaanything so i called up last week and they said my application hasn't been reviewed yet.

I'm doing an add-on year so I had to reapply this year after 3rd year, but in first year I had my grant (TLT monthly one) by the first installment. So ridiculous.

Get your son to go to his students union, if there is one in his college and ask about his options. He may be eligible for the students assistance fund.

I have read another poster write that when they rang them they said if you did not get payment on 19th you would not get payment until 19th of november , and then 2 months. I think they are staggering payments due to cash shortage ..?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9 Poly.anna

Did you contact them ahead of this to find out when first payment due? Have not had any info from SUSI yet only to say they confirmed getting my bank details on 18th ...it took a week to log them as the system had crashed or some issue with it.
