If only the success of a race was based on the presence of a pro.

In all honesty the target audience of this race have no clue who he is

I have no clue who he is.....

Looking out the window here at work and it's pretty bleak out there today. I sure hope it improves for Sunday morning. The sky has the cut of murder as they say

Transition could be interesting if it stays wet as I believe it's on grass at the back of the where the Expo was last year. I believe the Expo is in the same location again.

On a positive note it's not too windy so bodes well for the swim

You better have the weather sorted for us, no excuse this year. Does it rain in Galway every day? ;)

just done the reg thing this morning!! Weather's looking good and now really looking forward to an enjoyable day out. Was thinking of pulling out if it was the same as last year. Did last year and almost at the point of tears on the bike and don't want to feel that miserable again with nothing further to prove. Good luck all and one!!!!

    In part, yes.

And in part because I don't really care who he is, and quite frankly, he's better off knowing who I am :pac:

I'm thinking of going down to watch tomorrow morning and was wondering what would be the typical splits at the sharp end of the race? Would the top guys be finishing up in 4 hours or so? Thanks

Windy in Galway again? Oh oh

  • Registered Users Posts: 497 ✭✭Bugsy2000

    Very windy!

It's promised a bit better tomorrow, if anything a bit on the warm side.

Good luck to all tomorrow. Was volunteering in the swim / bike transition last year & had a ball for the weekend. Missing it this year due to National Half in Athenry. Hope to get in for some of the later action.

Just at the sea shore in Salthill at the mo... it is very very windy, rainy, and sea is much worse than last year.
I am more and more dubious about the swim going ahead tomorrow but hopefull as there are still 14h to go. So far the weather today has been exactly as forecast on metcheck.com
So hopefully wind will die down tonight.
I don't want to do an other partial 70.3:rolleyes:

horrible in Galway today but the weatherman says it'll be ok tomorrow :)
I'd really like to see the swim start. Is it 7am?

If I can drag myself out of bed early enough I'll be in to cheer you all on :)

Ah its just the clouds being squeezed out so theres no rain left for tomorrow.

Good luck everyone!! There seems to be a few of us in the 900's.

You were true to your word Fazz. I was up at the hairpin turn for the run nearest the swim start. You were all about business. Congrats on the result
