I'd keep quiet and just turn up to class if I were you, not your fault it says €0.00..

Mm, but what about getting registered and getting the student ID and stuff?;/

I'd love it if I could get away with it, but the whole thing is just making me so worried I'd much rather sort it all out to be honest..

I completed the pre registered form this morning and my balance to pay still hasn't changed..this online payment is very complicated..
Got this in my intray on My.Tcd
This is confirmation that you have read and understood the conditions set out by the Free Tuition Fee Scheme.

As part of this, you indicated that you do comply with the conditions.

    Kind regards,

    TCD Registry
Still no change since this morning :/

I did that yes, not sure if it's been 30 mins, although the grant information has been updated,

I'm also afraid that I clicked "no" when asked if this was my first undergrad degree and it now appears that I cannot go and change it, stupid of me I know :(

    Anyway to change that?

I'm beginning to think I must have done the same, any advice from anyone ?

It asked you if this is your 2nd undergrad or if you already hold a postgraduate degree so I assume that 'no' was the right thing for you to click.

    ^^^ Thanks, very helpful

I'm being told to pay 7,089.00 in "tuition" + the 2,250.00 "student contribution" or so with the total coming to about 9,424.00. Anyone else getting this number?

My fee status is "EU" for some reason, anyone at all getting this issue?

Also, anyone have the billing department phone so I can call up and resolve this, have not been able to find it myself

Since you qualify for EU rate of Fee, you are in the same position as me, but different from most people.

SUSI will pay for your Contribution Charge if approved, but Tuition Fee is still a mystery to me on how its paid. Since your Tuition Fee is 7,089.00, SUSI will only pay 6,020 if you qualify, as that is their maximum payment. The rest may depend on you to pay. Im not 100% sure but thats as far as I know

Has anyone found a solution to the incorrect fees amount?

I'm an EU (Irish) student so I shouldn't have to pay anything other than the 2250 student contribution, 77 sports centre charge, and 8 euro USI levy. Yet I'm also being asked to pay 5,028 Tuition. I did the pre-registration hours ago and "Fee Status" is EU.

    This is my first year.

I'm in the same situation. It's er, fairly worrying. I only hope that the form will have updated by tomorrow :( Otherwise, I think I'll just ring them and see if they can rectify it at all.

Oh, at least I'm not so alone anymore;o

Can I ask you if you're Irish? I'm not and I was beginning to think it was 0 euro while they were trying to assess my fee status or something..

Hm, then that's definitely not it.. I'm out of ideas to be honest..
I'm also a fresher, going into Comp Science.

I'll wait until tomorrow to see if it's fixed or if they email me back. If not I'm probably gonna go down to the college to see what the story is:)

Give them a while to sort it out. It's a completely new system this year so there will be teething issues which will be sorted out. No point bothering the treasurers office since registration isn't even for another 2 and a half weeks

Mine sorted itself, without any further action on my part (hopefully it stays that way).

Wait, so are they expecting us to pay 5 grand?

Not unless you're ineligible for the free tuition fees.

Since there's no option to remove it now I'd say they'll make you jump through hoops to get it back.

USI Referendum in October should hopefully see that we don't have to pay it anymore

No one has to pay tuition fees, they will disappear once you say "I do" for the FRS1 form. The Irish exchequer covers the tuition for all Irish citizens.

The heck they do. Whether they cover your fees or not is not directly linked to citizenship at all.

It does!. I qualified for EU rate of Fee solely bcos I am not an Irish or European Citizen!. You must be an EU citizen in order to qualify for Free Fees!

Even still they are paid. If you qualify for a grant and drop out you will not get the student contribution for a second first year from the grand authority.

No, they're not. If you repeat a year, you pay for it yourself.

Everyone gets one first year, one second year, one third year and one fourth year paid for. Anything else (repeated years, second degrees or changing degrees after a year) is paid for by the student themself.

Yes you are correct when talking about the student contribution but tuition fees are always covered.

No they're not. The free fees initiative doesn't cover repeat years or a change of course that leads you to repeat a year. The same goes for maintenance grants, they neither give you a grant nor pay your student contribution for a repeat year. You pay full fees if you need to repeat or change course.
