Well, I'll take the TV if you're throwing it out so!

How many TVs does one man need?!?

Was a bit expensive but worth it. Not only is it the best platformer on the Dreamcast, the only rip off this game on the intrawebs crashes on stage 4 making the game unbeatable so you can't burn a copy. Also has a Yoko Kanno soundtrack:

Unfortunately with the value of the TV shifting so wildly on the market I'm not sure if or indeed when you can take it off my hands.

Picked up an Xbox360 Chatpad on adverts. Normally useless, but I can see demand for them going up as soon as the next dash is made public. I've been using the beta dash & the chatpad makes use of certain new features!

My girlfriend bought me one of those famed Outrun mugs, very impressed with the quality.

Also got a Vecflash from o1s1n, which was badly needed.

Will upload pics tomorrow or so

Ok so this isn't how the final setup will look, this was more just a placement of things to see how the unit looked over all.

Now to test this fully armed and operational entertainment station!

    376926_4634870392557_694559981_n.jpg

Anyway the final unit will have the following changes:
router and modem mounted to the back panel to keep them out of the way along with a few plug sockets and a scart switcher.

All cables will be routed along the back of the shelves using cable tacks to keep them out of view of the main unit.

I forsee a purchase of a mountain of cable extenders in my future...

looks almost the same as my setup except in black, cant beat the old ikea stuff ;) just replace the xbox which is in my cab at the moment, with a saturn and its the same. It's been like that over 2 years and I've never had any issues with heat despite some serious marathons :) the 360 sounds does like its going to take off sometimes but its an older model because the slim is upstairs on the projector, but I have a couple of spares there so cheap now. nice setup!

Cheers. When it's all actually put together the way I want it I'll post a few more pics.

I'm less worried about the Xbox / PS3 overheating than I am about our rabbits exploring 'their' new play area...

Must pick up a chat pad so.

Also, the Vecflash, truly the cart of the gods, of which Mr Hutchison is most certainly one.

I think the dash is public today actually. It's got an Internet Explorer app available now for browsing etc. The chatpad makes it a billion times better than joystick typing. I wouldn't use it much, more for the little fella, but I thought I'd pick one up before its a case of 'L00K R@RE MS CHATPAD' tyoe sh1te we see elsewhere.

I got mine for €12 posted, it has to be an ok price for that. I wonder if demand for them will surge slightly, they really do make typing/browsing better by a country mile

Are really that much cheaper/better than say a Bluetooth media PC keyboard? Or are those just not compatible with the xbox 360?

No idea if they're compatible or not, they'd both do the same job anyway. But for €12 I thought sure whats the harm. It just plugs perfectly into the bottom of the pad, isn't heavy & doesn't get in the way of the way you'd hold the pad. No brainer given my son will be using IE on the new dash

Finally have a NES, again, and its a lovely example. I reckon the turtles saved it for wear and tear.
Games boxes are muck though, donkey kong had my hopes up, the front gives a false impression of its condition, the back is missing half it's cardboard. :o

Now that's just pornography!!! Lovely! I have a nes box in amazing condition in my parents attic. Havent seen it in years though. I hope to feck it's still as it was!

I got my hands on this bad boy today. Apparently photographing through a non static bag isn't the best idea :D

    2012-08-28212518.jpg

    It's really irritating as I have -

    An LCD
    A Dreamcast
    A Dreamcast VGA Adapter
A laptop with a VGA out port and MAME running
    1 VGA cable.

So I basically have absolutely everything to get a Dreamcast and MAME running through the SLG3000 - minus one bloody VGA cable and cant find one in the house anywhere! Argh!

I discovered this problem during the week, but didn't buy a cable as I didn't think it would be here so soon!

I know it's gorgeous. The outer sleeve is a bit worse for wear than I thought it would be but still cool.
It also came with a robocop magnet that was stuck inside the box. So Robobonus!

Never came across a turtle nes version before. Anyone know what the story is with them rarity/value wise?

The NES was selling really badly in the UK so they decided to make a TMHT package to boost sales at Christmas as the cartoon was really popular. It was a massive winner for them and they sold loads, so probably not that rare.
Still, damn nice looking condition on that one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,619 ✭✭✭✭OwaynOTT

Wonder did many hold onto the outer sleeve though, as a younger me most defintely got rid of it or cut it to use it as a poster or some such.
It must be said that I was a stupid kid when I was a kid.

Is there any other nes/Snes boxes that have third party characters on the box?
I know the US killer instinct box can go for a bit.

    Welcome to the 60Hz revolution!

Have to laugh at the Shining Wisdom cover art. Really gorgeous cover art but when you play it it's one of the ugliest games ever made with one of the worst examples of pre-rendering I've ever seen.

Might see about picking up one of those chatpads today!

Just ordered Import Tuner Challenge for the 360 from gamestop.ie. It's a sequel to the tokyo highway challenge games so figured it's worth a go for a mere €6 posted which is a good price as there's only a few copies on ebay for €12+ at the moment.

I really do wish you would use the correct terminology ImmediateEntrance!

SHE'S YOUR 'BIRD'. NOT YER 'GIRLFRIEND'!

Wrong again! It's either buuuuuuurd, mot or beioooooooooooor. The last one is only applicable outside of Dublin.

I use to think the term was 'blower', when I used the term I found out I was most defintely mistaking.
