    My pick?
The Amiga CD32. I'm fairly sure I was the only person on the planet to buy one *hehe*

You might be an early adopter of the machine but there is a few of us here that own one.
They really are a computer in a console case, the ease of using multi game disks of Amiga 1200 games means there's always something to play though.

Back on topic just took collection of this out of my local Parcel Motel drop point.

    F1GEy.png

Still worth the (very little) I paid for it.

Happy camper. That Parcel Motel is going to be a lifesaver on postage costs.

    *edit*

Just popped it in to the CD drive in this PC to listen to the sound track. Ohhh man... definately one of the best renditions of it on most consoles.

Ripping the audio from it as we speak to throw on MP3 player. Lovely stuff.

Picked up some more Gamecube games as part exchange for the pachislo machine I was selling on Adverts. Looking forward to playing through Beyond Good & Evil again, played it years back on the ps2 and loved it. Beach Spikers is interesting for the fact that it only saw a release on the Cube after its arcade appearance and was developed by AM2.

Never thought to sign up with Parcel Motel. Might take a closer look, I'm always irritated when I compare "free UK delivery!" with what I'm paying to get something sent here...

It's a great service, just bought a server much cheaper than any of the resellers were offering it for in Ireland.

It's so simple, walk up to it put in your code and there's your parcel. I think I'll be using it alot to get around ridiculous eBay postage and packaging prices from UK to Ireland.

Yeah, I can see myself using it for the same. I wanted to pick up a Dreamcast Keyboard but the international postage on them is crazy. They're a big big I guess, but they're not heavy.

I'm still a little unclear myself as to how this whole Parcel Motel thing works.

So I buy something from Ebay, put Parcel Motel as the delivery address in say, the UK, and then they forward the item on to a local office in Ireland?

    Exactly.
Buy your item in the UK
Put parcel motels uk address along with your name and user id.
It will then be forwarded to your local parcel motel location you choose when registering your parcel motel account

pity about the size and weight thing, it would be great for getting cabs over from the UK

    Imagine that! Would be brilliant.

I'm thinking it may be a really good way of getting consoles in directly from Japan. You'd save a fortune on postage.

If something won't fit in the drop point you can make alternative arrangements with them.

They're pretty flexible from what I undrrstand.

Pro tip: start looking for that kinda stuff on UK gumtree sites then just give them your parcel motel address in Antrim. ;-)

If you can find them, maybe you can hire...

Sense another trip to Ikea myself shortly, fitting in the Vectrex is going to be fun :D

I'm going to Ikea today I think, pick up some more of those drawers for my collection. Deadly yokes they are.

Is there no Thrifty or anything like that to rent a van for a week?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,730 ✭✭✭The Last Bandit

Thrifty and Enterprise both do van rentals alright, not sure about the cost though. I can't imagine a week would be cheap..

If its only for Ikea stuff you should consider their delivery service instead.

I wish it was, but I need one for a week at the least. :(

Didn't know IKEA delivered though. Don't they offer some sort of flatpack building service too?

I'd rather hire a couple of lads to build all the stuff I need to get. Save me doing it!
