The Barcastuff twitter account reckons Affelay is Schalke bound  I suppose we'll find out soon enough.

As to Bendtner - Stoke or Milan ? I know what I'd choose:D

Stoke is his true level but Id pick Milan for him tbh if i could. That lad would be pure fired up to 'show us what we are missing from the World's greatest player' :). Granted we could also play Milan with him but chances are less and he wouldnt have scud missiles to get on the end of at Milan.

Walcott out - Dempsey in please.

Podolski, Giroud, Cazorla in- looking like an excellent summer.

Then van Persie and Song go and two drab nil all draws, that excitement that I dared feel is now gone!! Back to being profitable in the transfer market after such a promising start

Walcott isn't that important- surprised that so many people are disappointed in him for seemingly rejecting the contract and wanting to go, he hasn't done that much for the club overall. He can run fast, that's about it. Sometimes that pace gets him into positions where he has time to pick his spot for a pass/shot but under pressure he is no good. He won't have that pace forever either.

I won't miss him if he does go but I'll be pissed if the money isn't straight away used to sign someone (I'd like M'Vila...), Walcott is an incredibly frustrating player even when he has a good game. My biggest regret is that Kenny Dalglish is no longer at Liverpool, we would probably be on the verge of receiving a 40 million pounds bid given his track record when it came to purchasing English players.

I'd love Dempsey as well. Could be Arteta-like

If we lose Walcott, I think we could look at Sterling. Still very young but Looked very good against City and would probably be available at the right price

    Someone bite!

It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world but like has been already said, it would be a shame to lose Walcott now only to see him perform the best years of his life at a different club to Arsenal.
Has come on a lot over the last few years. But the ball is in his court now, Arsenal obviously want him but not at the reported £100k a week he's looking for.

How much you reckon he goes for? €10mish?

Sounds about fair. Only 3 years left on his contract so obviously will lead to a cheaper price.

I really can't make my mind up about Walcott but funnily enough the way he plays does remind me of the transfer rumour mill on twiiter: Throw enough shit at the wall and something will stick.

    Some team that Stoke...

If he wants to go then let him off. Liverpool not in CL and he will find that he will become the forgotten man very quickly ala Joe Cole. He wont get game time at City and noone else will give him £100k a week. Sign the contract son, you never had it so good!!

Every year we wait in hope that we can realistically challenge for honours. Try to strengthen the squad and improve on the previous years league position and with a bit of luck pick up one of the cups. I think we are as far away as ever from delivering. We are close, very close but when we get close we get rid because we didn't have the foresight to tie players to long contracts or were unwilling to pay the going rate for wages. I know that if it were not for the other clubs "sugar-daddies", Chelsea, City, Liverpool, Spurs and Utd floating on the stock-market the we would be a lot closer to the top every year given our prudence but where does it end. Times have moved on, we are where we are but all the while other clubs are closing the gap. Spurs getting rid of Harry and Liverpool starting again should see us remain in the top 4 but for how much longer? If we don't learn to play the game the same as the others then we could be in trouble. Don't get me wrong, look at Malaga and their trouble after having loads of money but if we don't move towards the spending of the other clubs then we will be left behind. Look at how much Liverpool have spent in the last 10 years trying to get back to some semblance of the mighty club they once were. Start spending the money lads. We need the big marquee signings. We've done the "lets buy and develop" phase but where's the signing that says "were back in the game". Go out and buy Rooney, yes he's a tool but it would defo signal that we are back in the market for top class players at their peak not getting them to their peak and selling them on because we've no foresight. I'm proud of the club and the policy up to now which has delivered a new stadium and a legacy from 97-05 but we really need to start spending or we really will be left behind. The mickey mouse clubs "QPR, Reading, Saints" are spending, why cant we?

Dembele to Spurs is a real blow, it has to be said.

    Looking at our transfer dealings:
    -Carzola: V good business.
    -Podolski: Good bus
    -Giroud: Lets see
    -RVP: Disasterous business
-Song: No problem, as long as he's replaced
-Walcott: No problem as long as he's replaced.

    I'm ignoring Lansbury/Bartley, etc.

If we sign no one else and Walcott goes I still don't think it's too bad, we will battle for fourth, not really making progress from last season. But don't think we're worse off maybe th squad even slightly stronger

But if we can find a couple of quailty players in the next two days we could be there or there abouts. This I where we will see the ambition of club.

A couple of quailty we will challenge a couple of mediocre squad players we stay the same, let's see how this plays out

I never thought Theo was worth the £15m we paid, so if we get the same money back or more then that's great.
If it hadn't been for these players wanting to **** off, Wenger probably wouldn't have looked for new ones (not more kids).
I'm hopefull that if Theo is going, Wenger will get in at least one or two.
If he doesn't then the profit alone to the board will be what really pisses me off.

Did Arsenal pay £15 million? I thought it was less but I'm not certain on that.

How much will Southampton get if Arsenal do sell him?
I have a hunch he may sit out the rest of his contract.

From his point of view I thinks that's the best for him

You're right it was £12m after a certain amount of appearances, dropping to £9.1m settlement.
I doubt Southampton will get anything from his sale.

Hopefully you get Jesus Navas, would be a great capture !

Also, Barca are meant to be letting Afellay go out on loan for the season, and Arsenal is a likely destination.
Afellay is keen to move on in order to get regular first-team football elsewhere, and a loan move seems to be on the horizon.

"He has the qualities to succeed at Barcelona, but endured a setback with his injury. It might therefore be better to try and get more playing time elsewhere. We're currently in the process of looking into the possibilities," Jansen stated to Studio Voetbal.

"We are talking about a loan move here. It all depends on Barcelona, though. They decide where their players are going. There are a number of clubs that are very concrete. We are in talks with several clubs."

Ahh Jeezus lads, how will we continue our trophy winning bonanza of the past couple years without such instrumental champions as Alex Song, RVP and Little Theo?!

    Wenger Out!

And who the f**k is this Carzola character I keep reading about? Or is it Corzola? Or gorgon-f**king-zola??
