5.54 miles average pace 8:46 average hr 149.

It was warm out there this evening but I was tired before the off, the hr doesn't lie, it should have been 140 for that pace, subject to the impending storm I'll go for 8/10 tomorrow evening, hopefully after a good night's sleep I'll be back on track.

How many secret races did you do over there? Myself and sunflower seeds had a bet on it.

None, 3 runs and lots of wine. I did come second in the 'Daddy Olympics' at a cabaret show if that counts? :D

Aye...But the job adds a new dimension to my fitness?? So basically I will be trying to set up a base up to xmas when my basic training ends and from there I wll look to train for the 2013 DCM job permitting.

Basically haven't done any focussed running for almost a year...However, due to the training I have been doing I am at a level not far off what I would have been at for DCM 2010 so I am aiming high by training for a sub 3 marathon but expect to get somewhere between 3 and 3.20 on the day

Had my first Manual Lymph Drainage session today, won't see any difference for a while, initially there'll be a session once a week for 3 months followed by a session a fortnight for the next two, then there's an assessment. The rules are that I must drink vile Milk Thistle extract 3 times a day and take an ocean of Veg epa fish oils every day as well as only exerting myself by doing half of what I feel capable of for the next 4 weeks. I must also go through a routine of self treatment every day, 3 times a day, fun times.:o

The prognosis is 6 - 8 months to a full recovery, I'm hopeful it won't take that long.:)

That sounds rough. Fingers crossed that you'll be in flying form in no time.

9.17 Miles average pace 8:14, average hr 154.

A funny run, legs felt very strong but I've lost fitness, the hr indicates the effort level but I felt well throughout. I really need to get some consistency back, the 10 mile is a non racer for me and I'm not sure about the half either but I'm not going to stress over it.

Ah no, the half was your goal race. That's too bad. On the positive side, you're finally getting sense!! ;)

5 miles this evening, for my sanity I'm not putting up the hr etc in case it's a fluke.

    Watch this space.:):):)

    Watching...

Best of luck with the recovery. You need someone b*ching and moaning at you to cop the flock on... Meno has seen how it's done now so he could do the honours!

Are you taking the credit for Digger's recent form? :)

10 Miles average pace 8:16 average hr 157

I've lost some endurance, no doubt, the hr climbed as the run went on, the crucial thing though, is that I was feeling very strong, stronger than I've felt in a long time. The endurance is easily rectified, so far, so good.

Keep it going, little by little the endurance will come back to you.

Frank Duffy - The Comeback begins.

Or would have done had I set the alarm clock on my phone, normally my two are up at the crack of dawn but it was eerily quite at 9 when I woke this morning and faced with a choice between tearing around the place and desperately searching for parking near the park or rolling over for a snooze, the snooze won.

The real Mr Slow is not sweating the small stuff, I was unlikely to pb and although feeling very strong, my body is having a tough time with all of the toxins that are being released so I opted for a lie in ;), I won't pb in the half either but will run for the craic.
