Confirmed starting line up for GW1,at last.......

Carzola is the only iffy as he has travelled with Spain but would expect him to start still, can change if Wenger says he wont start...

Pretty happy other than that,Carzola and VDV i have big hopes for especially if Spurs fail to find another striker
Yaya is there till we see how he lines up and how others namely Kagawa settle in,he will be FF gold once he settles i think

    Hi

Would appreciate comments on this team please:

    GK: DDG + Cerny

DEF: A. Cole + Lescott + Evra + Stan (Wigan) + McCartney (WH)

Mid: VderVaart + Yaya Toure + Ramires + David Allen + O'Neill (WH)

Forward: Pogrebnyak + Aguero + Torres

    I will be playing 4-3-3

Torres will be captain for GM1 and then Ill probably bring in Rooney for him

personally i think Yaya is over priced
I want to get Ramires in myself , especially with Cabaye injured, but its hard to know if he'll even play.
I also think way too many people are pressuming Rooney will be scoring for fun
Also, mixed views on Lescott playing

    Begovic Cech

    Cole Harte Zabaleta Clyne Rafael

    Kagawa Bale Maloney Noble Frei

    Pogrebnyak Torres Tevez

    6m left

Planning on getting in Rooney for Torres after gw1 and Bent/Graham/Lambert for Pogrebnyak after week 2

    bump...any opinions?

N'Zogbia will be my midfielder playing as a striker. Was tempted to go with Andre Santos of Arsenal too. Listed as a defender he will end up playing much high up the pitch this year than last year. Game time is a concern but not a bad option to have on the bench.

    Thanks Miller.

Ramires did play in the Charity Shield if thats anything to go by

Yaya (overpriced) who would u get instead?

Lescott, should I swap him for Zabalette?

    Regards

Just wondering why so many r going for Bale when VanDerVart is a bit cheaper and I think scored about the smae amount of points last year?

My absolute latest offering, I think I should impose a ban on myself on visiting that website at this stage, the amount of times I've logged in and made changes.
0.5 in the bank, I'm pretty happy, no doubt one or two kneejerk changes will be made yet though.

Diame could be an inspired pick for a cheap midfield option. He had a good Olympics and is back fit & well.

Bale played 3216 mins last season scoring 195 points while Van de V played 2314 scoring 167 points. Van de V is the better player imo and I have him in my side but he gets injured 3 or 4 times during the year.

He will be on pens and free-kicks duties this season also, just hoping he can stay injury free.

    Begovic

    Zabaletta, A Cole, C Clark

    Nzogbia, Hazard, Valencia, Kacaniklic

    Bent, Tevez, Rooney

    Subs: Green, Larsson, Cuellar, Clyne

    Any opinions?

I'll probably take a punt on Ramires myself, but i see it as a risk
there are loads of options at good money in midfield
I did that swap ye. Lescott could play, but i'm trying to reduce the riskyness for the first week or two so decided to do a bit of switcharoo with the two lads

Because he's not guaranteed to start every week?

With Moura signing out the window Valencia could see plenty of game time and if you have decent subs to back him up, you should do fine. I might consider bringing Valenica in some time soon.

Is it between Young, Nani, Valenica and Kag for 2 or 3 spots?

Yeah i wouldnt worry about him not starting, I think he's prob first choice winger when hes fit, but will probably be rotated a bit, it is united after all. i cant really see why else someone wouldnt touch him, assist machine last year, with on silva 17, mata 16 and bale 14 above/equal to his assists

The problem is you constantly waste transfers putting him in and out when injured. Catch him on the wrong week as captain and you can end up with a double one when he goes off after 10 mins with a pulled hammy - happened a mate of mine last year.

Nobody is sure how VdV and Siggy will work in the Spurs midfield as well. Alot of pundits seem to think there's only room there for one of them.

I'd have to agree. Pre season tends to suggest AVB will go with this 4-2-3-1 system that alot of managers are going with, which leaves VDV and Siggy to fight it out for the position behind the striker (neither of them are natural wide-men). Bale is the only sensible option for me, if you want a Spurs mid.

Yea AVB played 4-2-3-1 in each pre-season game and suggested it would be no different on Saturday vs Newcastle. So there is definitely a doubt over who will play in the #10 role, Siggy or VDV. It is possible both play though, but if so one will be deeper in the 2 and I'm guessing that will be Siggy. But Bale is definitely the safer option, till we know what's what. He is virtually guaranteed 90mins each game.

    OK
    Here is my first draft.
No clue what to do with midfield and have a lot tied up in defense but don't know who to get rid of.
I feel I need a United defender and had thought about going for DDG but I reckon he'll get rotated with Lindegaard

Anyway here goes and all suggestions welcome:

    Szczesny
    Green

    A Cole
    Vidic
    Kompany
    Ferdinand (OPR)
    Stam (wigan)

    Carzola
    Ya Ya
    McClean
    Noble
    Ireland

    Torres
    Aguero
    Pogbebnyak

You should get rid of Kompany and downgrade to another City defender.

Yes, so per mins played VDV picked up more points and he is on kicks this season and is cheaper but yet most people r going for Bale.

I love Valencia but who is going to play in the middle for Utd this year between Cleverly, Carrick, Valencia, Young, Nani, Anderson, (Flechter if hes back), Kawanga not forgetting Giggs & Scholes. hell probably get 20 games or so but is that enough. Carrick will probably get the most game time, but dosent ever seem to rack up the FF points IMO

good point but Spurs seem to only have one forward and may push VDV up.

Actually thinking about it now - its very hard to beat the Toon in Toon Park so probably best not to have any Spurs players in GM1
