    its oldish LG w2243s. its 1080p, but has only VGA. i always used it as a secondary monitor, so it never bothered me.
    now looks like it will bite me in the arse. :(

    ShadowHearth, it will still work fine in 2D mode, you only need three digi for 3D surround.

    Give a look here:

    You can go;

    680 DVI output ===DVI cable =============> U2312
    680 DVI output ===DVI cable =============> U2312
    680 DVI output ===Displayport to VGA adapter==>LG w2243

    Bear in mind you might get screen tearing, at least I did with a 6970 running eyefinity with one DVI and two VGA monitors due to mixing digital and analogue.

    I used one of these adapters, welcome to try it if you want as its collecting dust these days.

    Lads. Harddrives. I need them. I only have 350GB left. I also have about the same to be downloaded from steam.

    Where the hell do I get decent size drives on the cheap now?

    I got a good price for a 2TB drive on scan recently in their today only deals. It was a 2TB green WD drive and about €10 cheaper than anywhere else that I could find them. However, with postage you'd need to be buying other stuff from them.
    Otherwise, if it's just a single drive or you can't wait for a deal to show up, you'd be better off looking at the free delivery websites - dabs, amazon.co.uk, komplett.ie

    Keep in mind that Samsung/Seagate warranties are just for a single year.

    Any way to tell the exact drive in an external without popping the case?

    Googling the name of the drive and "disassembly" or "teardown" and you should find out.

    If it's a WD Elements 1TB, you should get a caviar green

    Look for a review. Might have been popped open. It's also sometimes listed on the manufacturer's site via model number or something similar.

    Debating whether to crack open my 1TB elements and internalise it (it is a word? Thanks Chrome :D) - increased speeds and a spare power plug are good, but lack of mobility for the laptop is pretty bad, and I tend to plug it and the laptop into the TV for watching.

    Verb 1. internalise - incorporate within oneself;

    Sounds painful... :pac:

    Thats what I wanna do. I can bench the drive in the caddy, but I cant know if the results are being throttled by the USB or just by the drive itself :S

    On that site it says it has to be 3 digital connections. If I use adapter from display port to VGA it will still stay analog and not digital?

    Its still a digital output from the card as far as the 680 drivers/card are concerned it is outputting 3 digital, its converted to VGA externally.

    That's actually might make sence... I wonder of anyone got away like that do far. Quite dodgy to spend 30eu on active VGA adapter if it won't work in the end :(

    Other route would be to get 2 cheap 23" monitors for the sides with sci connections, I will need to look in to the whole thing more when I will come back home.

    Cheers for help m8!

    Just bought a mic preamp for my Superlux HMD660 headset, but it didn't come with a PSU. Where can I get a 9V, >1.3 A PSU for cheap?

    Radionics would have something I'm sure-not sure about the cheap but though.

    Active one? Fancy selling it m8? If I can get one atleast small bit cheaper it would be a great start for me!

    Like I said. It's now between getting one more 2312hm and use old monitor or getting 2xcheap monitors for sides.

    Theoretically all DP to VGA adapters have to be active - that said I couldn't get my set-up running with the apple one.

    PM me your address I'll stick it in the post and see how you get on with it. No panic about money-not using it, so you can have it for 15 if it works for you and that's ok? this is the exact one-and its active.

    Edit:

    Lads, scan is a disaster to order online-any account i have ever set up works once for some reason, and their postcode section won't work with a town or city name here, has to be a UK postcode format..

    I found if you ring em, they will do the transaction over the phone instead. (0044 871 472 4747)

    Did a law not pass a few weeks ago allowing people to re-sell their digital purchases? Or you could just sell you're account with all the games on it.

    Oooh details please! :)

    PC Games have always had as part of their license agreement that they can;t be resold. That would have to be subordinate to statute but I'd like to give what ever it is a read please.

    Yes but it will be awhile until that's introduced afaik and probably the game companies will find away around it :rolleyes:

    That'd be a bill then - any idea of the name of it?

    Ah an EU Directive we should see that in law here in about 10 - 15 years.

    Well I managed to get into BIOS on new PC with the aid of old ps2 keyboard, it still doesn't recognise the usb keyboard when in bios, even when I went back in after I installed windows 7.

    Worse still, windows isn't recognising my password either (and it was only a 5 letter word).
    I logged in about 4 times using it, but doesn't seem to accept it as correct pw now. Any ideas what's wrong?
