But that's just a live laugh track?
A laugh track refers to pre-recorded laughter, it's 'fake' laughter the producers decided to add in to the parts they think we should be laughing at. A live studio audience reacting to jokes in real time aren't a laughter track anymore than the audience at a stand up gig. Seriously I remember so many times when someone in the audience was still giggling long after the joke had been said, you don't get that by prompting, it's real laughter.

I'm always suspicious of those, thinking the audience is told to laugh.

Anyway, I don't think Friends is good, though it's not the worst thing to watch. I nominate The Big Bang Theory for that.

I actually like both of those shows but can understand why some people wouldn't, however...surely, surely, Two And A Half Men is more deserving of that nomination?

It doesn't mean they haven't been prompted though, that just means that person found it really funny.

I say it's generally assumed the live audiences are prompted to laugh. Nobody laughs at a skit they've probably seen the cast get wrong a thousand times.

I like Friends, The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men. (before Sheen left, it's terrible now)

How I met your mother. How is that funny?

My right canine is giving me MAJOR grief today - I mean, I'm aware it has to move down a couple of cm, but couldn't move just a little slower and easier, so as not to cause me such exasperating discomfort? :(

The audience are fans of the show, they wouldn't buy tickets if they didn't think it was funny; they're hyped to be there. Every single show with a audience uses prompts but that doesn't mean the reactions aren't genuine. And if listen to the audience you can spot the difference between the quieter 'That wasn't very funny' reactions, and the 'That was absolutely hilarious' reactions.

Anyway my point is a live studio audience are not a laughter track.

I'm starting to seriously consider calling off my 21st Its looking quite likely that there'll be feck all people at it.Not even one person from college responded when I asked where they going.....

If only I hadn't booked the cake or got this dress made.Im a bit upset because I'd gotten all excited for it but I really don't want to be humiliated.

Jeeez that's rough, could you not try and persuade her to stay at home. You could go on about how immature you all are or something.

Nope. She's an idiot and definitely coming, because the girl in my year is too immature to ask someone to the grad with her..

Hide her debs dress on the morning of the debs so she can't possibly go. Hide all her other dresses too, just incase. If she finds out it was you, tell her you wanted to try them on. She'll ask no more. ;)

    The plan can't fail!! :pac:

And in the unlikely event that this Machievellian scheme should fail...

Burn the house down... BURN 'EM ALL!!
