Coras oideachas came up two years ago.. My grinds teacher gets it right every year. I think racism, technology because steve jobs died or maybe social problems in general

I don't think 'An Córas Oideachais' has come up blatantly in quite some time, although there have been relative equivalents but none that recent. And didn't something about the internet come up last year, don't think the Gaelgeoirís would be too put out about Steve Jobs? To be honest I think it's pot luck, but I have a feeling something like the Arab Spring and all that is relevant?

I like elm, but I prefer not writing on it. I've 9 of the 10 Plath poems studied by now! (Didn't do finisterre) I'm more likely to leave out elm pheasant and maybe mirror. Even though i love them all!
We only studied 6 poems for each poet, but I guess you'll have a better choice in the exam, depending on the question.

We did the same! :L I studied "the times are tidy" and "mirror" on my own! :L I just love PLath. I did the same with Heaney, I studied Lightnings viii and A constable calls because we didnt do them in class and I liked them! :L Same with epic and Kavanagh! :L

Defi make sure you Know fish And eggs!! Also nutrient wise most likely will be B group vitamins, lipids, and minor minerals but look over carbohydrates also.
Household technology is due is go over the appliances and marraige and the elderly for socilogy, ih and sensory analysis

for section c, social science, special needs and education would be worth while lookin over. They milked every question possible on the family so it's unlikely to come up
    Thank youu :)
But eggs came up in our assignments and usually anything that does come up in the assignment wont come up in the exam ? And fish came up in 2010 so do ya think it will come up so soon again? :/

There was teacher on the radio who said that because it was on the assignment makes it morelikely to come up, there isn't just the nutritive value to learn, you have to the structure, egg quality assurance scheme, strorage and properties etc

and literary genre which is much easier when comparing a play, a film and a novel.

Everyone says it's going to come up but I don't think it is. Maybe that's because I didn't do it or because I just feel like being different, but I have a feeling it's going to be theme or issue and literary genre.

They are all the same though really, and it's better to make it up on the spot and be "fresh" to get marks in Purpose. That's what I'm doing anyway.

I agree. I hope they put on GV+V but I have a feeling they're gonna throw up Theme and LG to put people off. I've done LG + GV (even though our teacher basically told us to teach ourselves :/) and i'm really considering learning T/I but I don't think i have enough time.. I still have a MASSIVE amount to do for Hamlet and the Paper I essay, but I don't want to get stuck doing a really difficult LG question because I don't know T/I. Should I learn it guys? I literally have a sample answer for it and that's all I have to go on! Help :?

We left out LG, but T/I is just a subset of GVV. I wouldnt mind it but I'd waaay prefer GVV!

No it did come up.. Im a repeat student and my grinds teacher said it would be made if ya depended on coras oideachais... Thats just his ideas and relationships on the net came up. I think it is a possibility because its relevant to our age group... Honestly I don't think they'll put up Arab Spring...wouldn't be learning that now... General youth problems and you should be fine.. Like how could you write 3/4 pages on that??

Just wondering how do you plan on studying for that, are you just going to practise essays from other years or learn extra vocab?

    Geography predications ??? Please

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,778 ✭✭✭leaveiton

If they really wanted to make the exams less predictable they should just pick things out of a hat or something. All 8 poets go in, 4 are chosen at complete random, questions get drawn up. It'd remove all this "They're due up, so they'll definitely be on, but maybe the SEC know this, so they won't put them on!" I dunno, maybe it's not a feasible idea for some reason but it made sense to me :pac:

    It's 28 pages, so it would take a while, y'know. ;)

It would be handy if someone gathered the best predictions up and edited them into the OP.

I think Plath is 100% coming up because Boland and Rich came up in the last 3 years and there is only 3 women poets on this years course and every one knows that a woman comes up every year without fail so how can it not be plath?:D Some are going to argue that it'll be Rich that'll come up because she died but like still it cuts down 5 poets to 2 and thats a given :)

Rich died at the end of March, 2012.

The papers are made up in around November from what I've been told, so they wouldn't change the paper just because of Rich dying.

Also, as far as I know, Plath's son committed suicide in 2009, so it's likely in a way. That and the fact that Plath's not been up in ages.

The only thing is, learn off other poets too. Heaney is likely. You see, a horrible question might come up on Plath, so don't risk it.

    My predictions for:
    English:
    Kinsella, Heaney, Plath
    Chemistry:
Q1 Experiment on dissolved oxygen (came up in 2005)
Q2 preparation of soap or ethanal
Q3 let's hope for heats of reaction as it was only half a question last year!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,572 ✭✭✭Canard

I know, but there is a search function. :P

Comparative is predicted to be GV+V and LG, while Hamlet predictions are role of women (but I really, really doubt that - its been asked before, theyve so much unasked stuff that it'd be weird to repeat their q), Hamlet's character and deception. :)

Soap was up in 2010? It seems unlikely :)

Umm, I've looked through past papers, and it seems like Vision and Viewpoint is more or less the same question. Dark/bright, pessimistic/optimistic etc. Basically the same question.

Is there anything else they can really ask?
Also, apart from the pessimistic/optimistic aspect, I don't really understand what V&V means. Can anyone explain?

I think I must be the only one just making English up on the day :P It shouldn't be too hard to twist your comparitive to what you want to talk about
