I wouldn't be banking on service as a 100. Farm is more likely, and even at that, as a 60.

What are people predicting for Construction?
Make sure to know scale drawings anywa(guaranteed 2 q's), guaranteed a u value question, guaranteed a passive house question and that leaves only one more question to be answered. Our teacher reckons the water chapter with septic tank and all the test of it,that's all pretty topical:)

Physicals fairly sound! Regional- that's now a right **** of a section.

For Geoecology I just noticed that this question:

Factors that have influenced soil characteristics

Hasn't come up since 2006! Considering getting rid of Characteristics of a Biome and learning that instead! I hardly doubt they'll put on Characteristics of a Biome 2 years in a row!

    That means i've done:

    -Composition/Characteristics of one soil type
-Plant/Animal Adapations to the Soil/Climate of a Biome
    -Human Activities affecting Soil
    -Factors that influence Soil Characteristics.

Have you any predictions for the regional geography? :/ .. So screwed.. :/

This is what our teacher said should be enough:

-urban growth in europe or brazil
    -cultural
-primary activities in europe (possible comparison)
    -tertiary in ireland (possible comparison)
    -primary/tertiary in brazil
    -eu expansion
    -secondary/tertiary in europe

Also, can anyone give me some pointers on how to do technology warfare in History? The people in the history thread are of no help.

In our mock we had a 60m farm and 100m service, do you think this was just them
    Trying to get away from
Usual format or do you think we could actually get 2 of farm/service/club instead of 1??

They're too similar to put on one paper. they want to try and test students ability in different topics and they are practically the same. I still think 60 farm.

If De Moivres theorem comes up as a part c I think I will cry with happiness as long as its not a proof

Ya but if you look at the previous years it's due up. I think it comes up like

once, skips, uptwice in a row, skips, once, skips, twice in a row, skips etc.

Relating to Chemistry, someone said their teacher predicted 'the B.O.D' experiment to come up....which one is this? Dissolved oxygen?

The Winkler... but adjusted towards the BOD
eg, a 1L sample of river water was obtained and diluted to 10L etc.

500cm3 of the sample was analysed straight away.. blah blah blah

the other 500cm3 was immediately placed in the dark in 25* for 5 days yadayadayada...

Calculate the amount,in grams, of O2 in each of the orginal samples etc.

Calculate the BOD of the water sample.

    First post so be kind!
    Any Hl maths predictions??
Irish HL I feel they'll go Geibheann/Colscaradh because its the first year and they want good grades to show for it.
English: Boland, because she's not on the course for the next 2 years!

My teacher thinks alpha and beta roots of an equation, since it's gone off the new course. Also an inequality proof by induction, since the other two types came up in '10 and '11 and inequality hasn't been up for years.

Unlikely to be a 100 mark question though, could definitely be in section 1 though (as you're suggesting?)

Yeah seeing as how it was 100m last year, if it comes up I'd say it'll be 60m

For history hl would you be safe enough to learn:
    Dictatorship and democracy:
    Hitler and Nazi state
    Strengths of Mussolini
    British post war economy
    Anglo American pop culture
And maybe stalins internal policy?(since that's basically the case study?)

    Pursuit of sovereignty:
    Treaty negotiations
    Eucharistic congress
    Belfast
And maybe one other ( perhaps someone could recommend a good one?)

    Northern Ireland:
    Coleraine
    Welfare state
Fall of stormont and power sharing
    Sunningdale
I want to leave out apprentice boys cause my essay for that is weak but is it risky not to at least know all the case studies?

And for the document It's most likely India right?

I feel fairly prepared (despite my username, that was from the mocks :P) I just need to know what to focus on at this stage and some reassurance that I'm not wasting my time with those essays would be much appreciated :)

    A few different ones:

Chemistry - ammonium sulfate and KMnO4 or water of crystallisation
Ethanal is also likely cause it's the last year any students might have actually done the experiment
    Rates of reaction for q3
I'd expect a full water question
    Substitution reactions in organic

Irish - my teacher reckons oisin I dtir na nog or spailpin fanach, but not both together

English - id say Plath will come up but it might be an awkward style question so my everyone answers on her, Larkin, Heaney and kinsella.
Hopefully deception for Hamlet or the character of hamlet! Women is likely though
    Gvv and LG

Home ec - I disagree about fish, it got a full question in 2010 so I reckon it might only be a short question. Carbohydrates are due up possibly with fibre and vitamin b for q1.
Household technology is a maybe, divorce, microbiology and additives :)

    History - pursuit of sovereignity
Eucharistic congress, Anglo irish relations, dev vs cosgrave/compare contrast their economic social policies, the rise of sinn fein and their success in the 1918 election.

For dictatorship - rise of fascism in Europe, Stalin show trials, hitlers economic and social policies (never usually appears)

Northern Ireland - coleraine, welfare state, sunningdale/agreements and civil rights

Aaaand case study should be India or katanga. Unlikely to be France due to lack of documents and Katanga is not liked by teachers, apparently most have asked for India so hopefully that will come up :D

Oh and pass maths watch out fr the empirical rule, been a lot of emphasis on it at conferences.

I don't think the treaty negotiations will be on, simply because they're a case study for next year, but I could be wrong.
