best I could get for halogens was esco standard ones for €1 each, but will probably last a bit longer than the Tesco Value ones. And a quid each is still good for GU10s

Definitely worth getting the xenon ones that do the equivalent of 50w light with 35w input. You'd never save the cost of them at the prices in the shops but I bought 10 from ebay april 2010 for about €18 delivered, they have done at least 2000 hours saving over €30 electricity versus standard GU10 so they've paid for themselves, saved money and they're all still working.

No, it was in 2003 or so when it was pulled, then re-launced around 07/08 sometime.

I wasn't born before '85 but wispa existed for most of my life :D

I have been freezing the tesco donuts and they defrost pretty well. They are 5 for €1, and 10 for €1.50 (2 packs of 5) and I could never resist the second pack being only 50c more -but they are not great the next day so I end up scoffing the lot.

Being frozen means I can't just wander by and scoff one too.

I don't think it's just Portlaoise, my mam got one in Naas too. It wasn't marked as reduced but she checked price checker and low and behold 1.49!!

Check your local one, I'd say they'll have some!

I could never resist the second pack for 50 cent either (when I bought them) however is there no jam inside Tesco donuts ? I think Jam is part of what makes a donut special. I think a lack of jam is why I stopped buying Tesco donuts in favor of Dunnes donuts etc

There is jam in the ones in my local tesco. There are 4 types in the range going at 10 for €1.50, ring, jam, chocolate filling, custard.

They do glazed & iced ring donuts too which are a bit more expensive but still very cheap.

John West big tins of Red Salmon, €3 at the moment in Tesco.
I also noticed Tesco are selling big tins of John West Pink Salmon for only €1.85-they're not on special offer, it seems to be the price.
Dunnes are charging almost 4euro for the same.

If you have any more bright ideas like this one please keep them to yourself.
The only reason I don't buy them is because I think they'll go to waste, now I'm going to have a freezer full of them.
    God dam you rubadub.

Above quote is regarding the white chocolate lindt bunnies.

The dark chocolate ones are 1.50 in the tesco bargain store in Athlone. Didn't spot any white ones, not that I was looking but I wish I did...

    Talk about tasty chocolate...!

they come into the shop frozen, not sure if you can refreeze them...
also get down to your local tesco between 8pm and 9pm and bags are usually 5c - 20c each..

You can refreeze, if it is true they come in frozen, in the morning time they are still hot in my tesco. There is actually an active thread in the food forums about this myth of magical freezer bacteria/maggots.

Repeated freeze/thawing expands water cells in foods and can changes their texture -this is the reason some manufacturers advise you not to refreeze, they do not want you bad mouthing their product after you ruined it.

    Some clearance items in Roscrea.
    Kettlebells (6.5kg) were E29, now E7.
    17kg dumbell sets were E40ish, now E9.50.
Kelly Holmes weighted gymball, was E20, now E5.

Should help to work off those bargain choccies, doughnuts & beers!

Other clearance bits included led bike lights, towels, pressure cookers & mens hair dye (random). Also if you spend over E20 & use your clubcard you are entered in a draw to win E100 Tesco giftcard. I think the offer is specific to the Roscrea store, but I didn't have time to check.

A lot of the Kelly Homes range was reduced in Mahon but marked at full price on shelf (the kettle bell wasn't) They had one 17kg set but I didn't price check that as it was too heavy:o and I have weights already. HUKD reports a lot of the bigger equipment, cross trainers and exercise bikes reduced by 75% but not sure if any Irish store. Prob worth scanning bits and pieces of exercise equipment as there may be more reductions. Also picked up a "Via Velo" d-lock and cable for my sons bike. Marked at €25 but scans at €6.50. Saw a couple of the pressure cookers at €30.
But most importantly Cadbury's mini eggs share bag were 64c! And all the easter cakes were also 75% off. No sign of any lindt bunnies though except teeny tiny ones for 50c:(
Edit to add link for the Kelly Holmes stuff http://www.tesco.com/kellyholmes/

Trekked out to Tesco early this morning to try and get one of the OWL monitors that have been mentioned but was out of luck in both Tesco and Mahon:( However me being me I was unable to leave without buying something.
Magicbox Atom Pink Dab/Fm radio for €11 in Douglas. About 2 left on the shelves. Currently £35 on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Magicbox-Atom-Digital-DAB-Radio/dp/B005VPYQ5Y/ref=sr_1_sc_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1335702597&sr=1-1-spell
    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTnGAhKGTJJxA6CR1hef-6WIU7Jf-kIGF_O_XzfEqJlNxRnTrFvFg
I don't know if its the weather or what but it does not seem to be working. I have 2 other dab radios and they work fine...will try again when the scary wind dies down and report back!

Got ecotek "standyby saver" 6 way adapter for €5.50. Reviews not great for it though:( Lots of these in both Mahon and Douglas. Currently £10.99 on Amazon (from 3rd party) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ecotek-Standby-Saver-6-Way-Socket/dp/B001CL1K32/ref=sr_1_3?s=diy&ie=UTF8&qid=1335702725&sr=1-3
    ssrtsir_3.jpg

A Russell Hobbs Steam Station for €39.99. They only had the display one left so I got that one. £24.99 in Tesco in the UK I discovered after coming home so a bit of a jump in price there:mad: Also reviews only so-so. Will be testing it out later:( Currently £52.50 on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002GHBXAG/ref=s9_simh_gw_p79_d0_g79_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-3&pf_rd_r=0FZGH293479QT31YGYYC&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=467128473&pf_rd_i=468294
    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQX1zumx3hWHD0JiJ1LhU8DckzoOBPrpn1tCZafMcRiyDrWwGZIeg

And in Tesco in Mahon I got 2 packets of the 4X AA duracell batteries for €3.50 each. There were about 3 packets left. more expensive than before but still a bargain.
