Cheers, downloading GTA IV now. If you don't want to pay sales tax on your purchase make sure you enter a state that does not have any:P e.g Delaware

That's a great keyboard, apparently it has the same internals as the Filco 87 ... but it's not available in ISO layout! I think CM might have released some of their other keyboards in ISO so there is still hope.

Good to see TKL Reds are becoming popular, even if the Choc Mini was the first
I really want one of these now:D
Is it even possible to buy one in europe if I wanted? There are some on ebay from US that cost almost $100 delivery before the keyboard and customs:(

Is it much of a pain using a non iso layout? It doesnt really sound like much of a difference

Windows seems to be buzzing along nicely, temps are down a bit too. So far so good! I shall upload the photos tomorrow...

Anywhere in Dublin I could pick up a SATA3 cable? Need to connect up my HDD and I'll be done.

Looking at Scan it looks like they were meant to get a shipment of them in on the 3rd, so perhaps they'll have them in someday next week and you can get one of them then.

oh that would be sweet! I might make my first ever order with scan.co.uk so and preorder one:)
They seem surprisingly cheap though for a mechanical keyboard the ones on amazon i was looking at were about £115 with £20 delivery on top of that

    25C here :D.

wow that is cold. When i turned on my htpc it was 41c and that was just in bios and then idle in xbmc while i tried to figure how to turn off the chassis fan with an asrock mobo - i dont think you can ha.
Would it be worth to buy a cpu cooler for a non-overclocked chip as opposed to the stock? i mean for a general computer not a htpc.

The stock fan is pretty loud, so you could go with a cheap one like the arctic pro,. Its only 15euro, and its quieter than the stock.

is it possible to buy an intel chip without the stock fan? I'd feel bad for the environment buying one and then just dumping the stock fan:D

You can buy what are called "tray" CPUs. You'd just literally get the CPU itself bubble-wrapped or something. AFAIK though, they're actually a Euro or two dearer than the boxed versions on HWVS at the moment. :P

My Silver Power 460W Fanless PSU just arrived from Scan. :D

Ordered Wednesday at 12.30 lunchtime and arrives Friday at noon, nice fast shipping all for £2.50ish sterling (after avforums reduced shipping perk).

Looks like a quality unit, might need to pick up some extention cables though, the cables that come with it look to be shorter than the Corsair HX850 it's replacing.

    I'll update when its installed.

Lads, I need a bit of help. My friend needs pc and he asked if I want to sell
    My old one.

It's xps 420 q6600, 3gb ram, 6870. 640gb hdd. Plus he wants my old monitor too which is Samsung t220.

I wanted to sell monitor for 70eu on adverts, as I need to pick up my new one from post today. If I ask 400eu for pc and monitor, I won't be an asshole? Gpu alone is 150eu and monitor is well worth 70eu. That pc runs any game on high settings even now...

Given the hard drive that's in it, and that it's using DDR2, which is expensive, €400 isn't a bad price. He could of course get something newer that would do about the same in terms of performance, but that's the same dilemma I'm at as well. :P

So im about to order an ssd. Do we still think the 64Gb Crucial M4 is the best option for me?

Would you get an i3 with 6870 and monitor for 400eu? I can't remember how much we quoted for those budget ones. :(.
Btw he is not a gamer, but likes to play some Xbox now and then. This would give him a chance to play some pc stuff too.

Btw amy way to clean up pc, witout pure format? Or I better of reinstalling windows amd deleting old windows catalog?

    idle? sounds normal m8.

Play a game and then see what your temps are like.

@ shadow: Easiest thing is a clean Win7 install, TBH. You can run a hard drive eraser or something if you want to as well.

Never seen Patriot SSDs before, but PassMark seem to think they are the dogs bollix.
The top rated SSD on there.
    And Dabs sell them.

    Anyone have any comments?

That PSU looks deadly, do you need a case fan to pull out all the hot air rising from it though?

    I idle at about 27C, full load at about 49-50C. That's at 4.4GHz overclock with a NH-D14
