What do u do on your computer Headshot ?

I dont like 64 gb SSD's personally, it's like theyre the perfect wrong size for an SSD.... at least in my opinion

So, everything arrived! Pics will be abound when I'm finished, but I have a question.

This is my first time working with a non-stock cpu cooler. I can't get my head around what way I should orientate the fan. Should it SUCK air onto the heatsink from the front, or SUCK air from the heatsink towards the back?

The fan should be setup to push through the heatsink for best cooling performance.

I keep forgetting this forum is mostly gamers :D, a 64GB ssd wouldn't be the worst choice so, have your OS and most played games on the SSD and then all your TV shows and your programs etc on a mechanical (if there are some programs u use frequently, u can also have them on the ssd. If u don't have many programs at all then u could have em all on the ssd since they won't take up much space.) You can then use steam mover as mentioned by avalanche and flying to move your games as new games come out or as your playing habits change. If you have the money 120gb hard drive takes a lot of the guess work out of it and you can have everything installed to the ssd.

Look at your current setup, how much space are u using on your c drive not counting the users folder (or any other additional areas you might store TV shows, music etc). That'll give you an idea of what you want ideally. But i take back my previous comment, a 64gb ssd wouldn't be the worst choice for u :)

I hate living in rural Mayo, internet sucks.
Bought GTA IV on Amazon for 3.99$ a few days ago, its a 14GB game, put it downloading on at around 1am ON Tuesday, left it downloading until about 1pm Wednsday, then put it downloading again 1am last night, its still downloading now and hasn't even hit 12GB...

Also was getting pings of a stead 1000+ yesterday whilst playing BF3! And that was with the download paused, all other computers turned off and the browser closed.

And it aint going to get better anytime soon. Talking about the Eircom fibre roll out over on the broadband forum. Second phase announced last week and it staying to the main exchanges. Prob all places that had that next generation broadband.

And here is me struggling with my 1mbps . There are some advantages to living in Dublin I guess

GTA IV for $3.99, wouldn't mind a slice of that. How do you download from Amazon.com, proxy or some other method?

Sorry to hear about your BB, 500GB monthy limit, 25 down and 2.5 up with approx 14ms ping where I am.

Why do people go for 100Mb broadband? The monthly limit is the same, so unless you really need your games there as soon as you buy them... not worth the extra, what? €50/m?

I'd be happy with 1mb, mine averages at around 100kbs!!
I heard the fibre optic was coming to Castlebar alright, live a couple of miles out from there so I don't think I'd be able to get it.
I'll have to stick with my fixed wireless connection now

I would imagine it would be nice to decide you want to watch a movie, and not have to wait 45 minutes for it to download :p

I don't have a monthly limit so I guess I should be happy enough with that..

It was a one day deal, there was loads of other great stuff as well, LA Noire was also 3.99, Crysis 2 was 7.99$.
And those prices were all in dollars too, not sure how the download system works. I downloaded a small downloader, I run it, it searches for the game files on their system and downloads them. Servers are probably in the US, so its slower than usual.

Even on 25Mb (UPC's cheapest package) it only takes about 5-10 minutes for something that size to download. Not exactly a huge wait, but I guess I see your point.

Lads is there any helpful videos of installing a SSD and a video of how to setup it up with windows?

    Lads very strange request!
Would anyone know a good keyboard that is not very wide (ideally 40cm ish). I got a new desk with a slide out shelf for mouse/keyboard (which i way prefer to use over putting keyboard etc on top of table).
I have a g510 logitech keyboard but it takes up almost all the space (60cm available) I got so i only got like 8-9cm to use the mouse - impossible.
I would prefer a keyboard that I can play games and to make it more awkward i like laptop keyboards too - but it doesnt have to be.
I was gonna buy this logitech illuminated keyboard but someone in the comments said you can only use 2x keys together:eek:
the sidewinder x4 looks great but its also 50cm even though it doesnt look it.

now if you dont mind I gotta go back to being a princess:p

    .

If you get a three mobile, pay as you go -tether it you can download all you like at pretty good speeds too - up to 8MB. There is no cap and you gotta top up 20euro. They say there is a fair usage policy but they never asked me to slow down and i've been using it for about 5 months and my usenet client doesnt get too much rest ;)

I've only tried O2, and Vodafone sticks myself, neither of those were very good. Could barely do simple web browsing.
Perhaps I'll give the 3 one ago. :)

I had o2 before and it was pretty slow, 3 is much better for me

    aha nice keyboard!
i was thiking more along these lines - but wired and flattened keys :)

In my defense, I pay €50.50 for it, and its used well. a regular occurrence in my house during the evening is a download going at 6.5mbps, with skyGo streaming a movie or game, and at least 2 guys gaming online on PC and/or XBox.

50euro a month for 100mb connection sounds like a great deal!!
Here I was thinking 35euro a month for a supposed 1mb connection was good... in fairness I've looked for alternatives but this is really the best available to me.
