There's probably about as much chance of me starting in the NFL next season

When you look at the state of the Colts, Browns, Bucs, Jaguars etc. that statement isn't nearly as dramatic as you hope it is! :p

By the way, Denver and Arizona are both 3/1 to land Manning on PP. If Miami are ruled out like a lot of journalists are saying, there's an easy chance of making a nice profit there.

Also if you have a Betfair account - back both to win the Superbowl next year (currently around 75.0 and 44.0 for both) and lay at a much lower price when he joins (which will most definitely happen if he does).

Very, very tempting price on the Broncos. Gone for it at 3/1.

Knowing my luck he'll sign for Miami tomorrow :pac:

Arizona bound imo. It shouldn't work but it will, the meeting at Arizona is going brilliantly and their beat reporters are saying as much

They're also 3/1. I've tapped into my Cheltenham funds by betting on the Broncos so I'll leave it at that, but if you wanted to cover yourself they're a great price too.

I'd be surprised if he ended up there though. He'll get no protection at all.

Apparently he just likes the idea of sun and a dome and Bidwill will probably pull some move that works for all of them.

Though one beat reporter has Manning to AZ as in the bag while the other has said nothing of note is happening. Crowd of broncos fans has showed up outside the Arizona practice facility though

Perhaps you're just doing the same thing I do when Sunderland are playing - always think the worst praying for dear life that the opposite will happen :pac:

I even do that with Man United lol, i'm the world's worst for that.

Broncos now in to 17/10 on pp. Denver forums saying that betting taken off a lot of bookies boards over there but havent said where the betting action is.

I wouldn't take a whole lot of money on one team for the market to change completely on Paddy Power anyway. Usually a few quid here or there will change it dramatically.

If anyone fancies the Cardinals throw a few quid on them and watch them go down to around 17/10 too :pac:

How come every set of beat writers reports that their teams talks were productive .....Manning even tho he is one of the savviest guy in the media ....lets it be known ..."he is making it up as goes along"

This is the guy that Jim Irsay calls a politician...the Duke University video etc...this guy and his agent Tom Condon could teach Jeff Fisher how to negotiate a higher offer ....he lets it be known all will be done by Tuesday which makes Arizona think they are involved in the Last Supper, Miami are practically suicidal ...the leagues richest owner Paul Allen the $13bn man cant even get a meeting

And lets get used to tomorrow the Bidwells are now slightly ahead...the sun...dome ....Larry Fitz and the Whizz and where is Peyton flying to ....Miami

Now im not saying that Denver arent in the lead but before i read another Broncos blog or words from Gospel according to Adam S......this is a game and you are watching the PR king of this

Manning's camp has put an arbitrary date of Tuesday out there and it's helped put all the teams interested into a frenzy. He knows what he's doing.

    Last update before bed:
6:54 p.m. (MT): Klis has chimed in to say that it appears to be doubtful that Manning will make his decision on Monday. It is still expected that he will choose between the Cardinals and Broncos before the start of free agency on Tuesday, however.

6:52 p.m. (MT): You can read my take on the situation over on Broncos Zone.

6:38 p.m. (MT): Great information on Manning’s visits can be found here.

6:08 p.m. (MT): Somers reports that Manning is flying back to his home in Miami.

5:38 p.m. (MT): Sources close to the Broncos tell CBS4‘s Vic Lombardi that Denver’s chances of signing Denver are about 80%, per MaxDenver.com‘s Andrew Mason.

5:34 p.m. (MT): Multiple sources are reporting that Manning is expected to choose between the Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals by Monday evening.

5:05 p.m. (MT): Manning is expected to now visit the Miami Dolphins, but all reports have been based on speculation. The Broncos expect Manning to make a decision by tomorrow evening.

4:44 p.m. (MT): Manning is leaving Arizona now, per Bienvenu.

Again, sources telling me Broncos are still the favorites. Tells me 80%. Not my number, the source's number. Source hasn't been wrong yet.

Reports emerging that Manning is planning to visit the Titans before making a decision.

Interesting this - it was expected to be a decision between the Broncos and Cardinals. This would suggest that he has not been completely convinced by either. The Titans had the only winning record of those in contention - but they do have Hasselback and Locker on the roster.

There are also suggestions that he will meet with the Dolphins over the next couple of days and the Chiefs are pushing hard for a visit.

Looks like the saga won't be over for a while.

Interesting this about the Titans -
Titans General Manager Ruston Webster, Chief Operating Officer Mike Reinfeldt and Coach Mike Munchak could not be reached for comment on Sunday. Indications are they don’t share the owner’s passion to acquire the former University of Tennessee star, but they also understand this is a unique situation involving one of the greatest players of all-time and a living legend in the state.

Nothing unexpected that Peyton is visiting other teams. He simply wants to have as much information as possible before making a decision. I dont think its possible to say that the Broncos and Cardinals were the only two teams he was considering. And also having an aging Hasselbeck and a raw Locker is hardly an incentive for any team not to kick the tyres about Manning.

From reports this appears to be coming from Bud Adams not Manning - there are no indications from Manning that he plans meeting either the Titans or the Dolphins - although it could happen. It may be a case of seeing if there is something with either staring him in the face that he doesn't see (and with Manning there never is).

    However -

I just wont read too much into the beat writers. They're obviously very good at what they do but by definition they work in a vacuum based on that single team. I dont doubt that the Broncos are strongly in contention just more a case that I wouldnt be holding my breath on any team being "the favourite" right now. Its still early in his process and while Manning was clearly impressed by the Broncos I think that he will still look to see what other teams can offer him

If the texans are serious then it has to be the best option for him. playing in a dome, elite running backs,o-line, andre, great defence, can stuff the colts twice a year. sounds good to me

If Texans can make anything even resembling a serious offer it's in the bag for them

    THOUGH
    John McClain ‏ @McClain_on_NFL
For the umpteenth time, Texans are not involved in Manning sweepstakes. Keep reading national reports saying they are, but they aren't.

Houston beat reporter. Also the fella who leaked their interest has since retracted his statement saying it was a typo, but not much being made of that. Hopefully it's true because if Houston get in on this, they get Peyton

Miami and Tenn are enough to worry about. Arizona just released Levi Brown to make up cap room, if Kolb follows, we know where manning is going.

I'd be shocked if Texans ditched Schuab for Manning, it makes very little sense.

I agree, it doesn't really add up and the sources coming out saying the leak was false tie in with that

I think it's becoming pretty clear that all of these ''sources'' know very little about this whole situation.

You'd wonder how tempted the 49ers were, no contract on Smith, a Superbowl-ready team and the easiest division in football. They seem to have come down on the side of Smith but I can't imagine they haven't had a serious conversation about Manning.

Instead of Manning, they went for......Randy!
Filed to ESPN: 49ers reached agreement on a one-year deal with wide receiver Randy Moss.

The Dolphins had a 6 hour meeting with Manning in Indy yesterday. Very little detail about who attended from the Fins bar Joe Philben. Hopefully that means the other two bozos weren't anywhere near the meeting.

It's good to see us trying to do business right for a change as opposed to making a spectacle of the whole thing. Also as the article below says, the length of the meeting suggests it was more than just a courtesy call.

I think they made the decision to go with Smith very early on. Also with their salary cap situation, bringing in manning would have meant either weakening the defense or not improving at WR and I think I would prefer to strengthen in other areas rather than bring in manning.

I think that Smith will improve further this year and hopefully they bring in a few WR's to help him out.

I like Smith being given Moss to throw to. Their brilliant running game can get mroe yardage with a Moss out wide to stretch the defence. Plus if he is motivated to work and can still get deep that could potentially help Smith's development. If not its only a year contract and not much lost.
