Been trying that for the last two years! Haha!
To be honest, the longer they wait to bring out gta is alright with me, give me more time to scrape together the pennies.

I understand you brother but unfortunately that's the way of the world. It's running at two speeds. Xbox/Microsoft and PS3/Sony is catering for mainly Europe and the U.S / developed countries with large disposable incomes. They strive to utilise the latest technology.

The PS2 suprisingly still sells well in other parts of the world. It long exceeded it's expected lifespan. However, in the U.S/Europe these consoles can only be found in second hand shops and trade sites like gumtree. It's very rare you'll find a retail shop stocking these games. Almost everyone I know owns a 360 or is on their 2 or 3rd by now.

360's are about 7 years old. They're predicting that they'll announce the next one this summer.

Wow, I don't think they even have Xbox Live in India. Actually I'm sure of it. Pity. I can't think of a world without it! :P

PS2 was/is a great console though so there are some great games that are worth playing similar to GTA. Scarface, Driver series. Try those games, my friend.

I only mentioned people talking about GTA being on next-gen for effect or to prove a point. I actually don't think it will. And for arguments sake, it may alienate people but people WILL buy consoles to play it.

Of course they have xBox live in India. There are a 1.2 billion people living in India. Its the worlds second largest market. Even if 99% of India are poor and 1% wealthy on a 1st world country scale. That would mean that 12 million people have a disposable income level which can afford to play modern games.

And trust me. Alot more than 1% of India have a high disposable income level.

I actually think it's a shame how Rockstar have gone about GTA this generation. They could have easily done the usual 2 spin offs i.e. Vice City and San Andreas 2 with the new engine in time, ok easier said than done but they released 3 games in very different settings last gen and in this one I can see LS being quite similar to LC, an open sprawling city. The hopeful saving grace will be the open country areas but I would have taken a relatively short campaign with 2 new maps instead of the (admittedly excellent) DLCs for IV. They dropped the ball a bit in the fun area of IV but the DLCs showed that there was a lot of untapped potential in the engine, only not so much in the city imo, an extra island or open area would have made a huge difference, there was nowhere really to just chill out and have fun driving or flying around. Still a great game but could have been a lot better imo.

In all seriousness, gta 4 was the reason behind me buying a 360 so even if it is held off till the next gen ill be pawning whatever I can find for it.

It was the reason i got the PS3. GTA IV was the only game i had for it for around 4 months. Its the only game i needed.

I really hope Microsoft dont drop the ball again and actually keep up with Sony in terms of disc capacity etc. I heard recently that blu-ray discs can now hold over 500GB. Imagine the GTA you'd get with 500GB!! Of course, Micosoft will only be able to handle something like 10GB so the PS3 users have to suffer again :pac:

I was hald expecting that they'd make more use out of liberty city as there was so much more they could have done with it. Rockstar don't seem to fully understand that there's no such thing as too much GTA.

My guess is that GTA V will come out in October 2012 after a barrage of information starting with E3! R* are currently focusing on Max Payne 3 so any little tidbit of GTAV would destroy the strenous marketing campaign for MP3!

Also regarding Vice City, if the rumour of Vice City Nights for Vita is true and it is released in conjunction with GTA V (Oct, 2012), it may be ported to PS3/Xbox in Summer 2013, thus completing the series before the next generation consoles are released!

It'd be very odd to port a vita game to xbox or ps3.

I'm basing it history - the Liberty & Vice City Stories port from the PSP to PS2!

Granted it would be weird seeing it ported to Xbox and maybe that might not happen due to console exclusivity but one can hope!

Well if the Engine already exists (GTA IV and GTA V), and the PS Vita Dialogue and story line can be used etc. There wouldnt be much in porting it over.

FYI. The PS Vita is capable of rendering graphics just as well as the PS3.

Yeah I just saw it!

Anyways i'm sure there will be a GTA Title on Vita soon enough! R* have always produced a game on new consoles (except the Wii of course!)!
