Ha, I got into Breaking Bad about a year ago; this past season was absolutely phenomenal. The evolution of Walt over the seasons is compelling to say the least. A very heavy drama, extremely well-written.

I AM THE ONE WHO KNOCKS!

I'll give Alcatraz a go maybe when they've Season 1 wrapped up so. I've been hearing things about Homeland, is it interesting?

    All you need is

    Big bang theory
    Walking Dead
    Sons of Anarchy

    and your sorted

Big Bang Theory has gone from a great comedy to one of the worst written shows ever. How its still on the air is beyond me.

aye the new series has been pretty muck so far, and using a lot of recycled jokes and situations, but Sheldon is still one of the best characters ever in sitcom history IMO.

I cant stand that leonard character though or Amy ferrerfoulous (spelling?) but I wouldn't go as far to call it " one of the worst written shows ever". Its no where near that.

Its far better than some big time US sitcoms anyway *cough* 2 and a half men *cough*

Still though, nothing beats UK comedies. Still waiting on some info on the new peep show series and hopefully a return of fone/face jacker in the next few years.

TBBT is one of those shows were I'd sit there for the half hour and not laugh at all ever but at the same time not regret watching it. Same way with How I Met Your Mother.

Thoughts on the first episode of Walking Dead then?
Was annoyed they gave away Lori is ok in the trailer for next time. Loved the bar scene and how quick Rick killed the guys though. Felt like characters were actually doing something...

Thank God others are seeing the serious decline in BBT, especially this season and last. It's gone from being a geeky comedy, to a standard rom-com with throwaway geek references. It's a bloody relationship sitcom now.

It's not a bad show, it's just got quite a generic feel to it. But hey, i think their ratings are massive so good for them, bad for me. I still do laugh 1-2 times per episode and it's not a bad show, just not half as good imo.

Well, I'm off to the premier of Glenn Close's new movie in Dublin. Apparently she and possibly some Z-list Irish celebs are going to be there :D

I'm a massive fan of Dexter as well. I'm about......8 episodes into the current season. Not so much a fan of Tom Hanks' kid! Looks like a creepy sex offender!

Man, I hated Dexter. Thought the acting was atrocious in it and I could not get past that. Only watched 3/4 episodes. It has a decent idea, but with Ugly Betty style acting.

Watching The Shield series 4 now. Top class stuff.

Have Luck and Friday Night Lights on series link on Atlantic as well at the mo. Luck looks like it could be great.

Oh, and started watching Archer as well. Fecking hilarious. Is it wrong that I am completely attracted to Lana? :)

Archer's really hit it's stride this season.

Really another match we should have won. Seriously must be the 10th match this season we should have won and instead came up short. Great showing from Muldoon though.

Yeah but the handling errors were ridiculous we need a shake up at 9 & 10 otherwise we really arent going anywhere kicking away 6 points and choosing the wrong options far to often its heart breaking

Wouldn't be a great admirer of Jarvis but he makes a big improvement when he comes on. Talks about Dan Parks coming next season. Hopefully things will pick up when Griffin is back in full fitness.

True I'm just hoping for a win next week when I'm there Clan end again for me I could watch Mccarthy and Muldoon make mincemeat of who ever is in front of them any day

Michael C hall plays it excellently, its a little bit camp but the show isn't aiming for gritty realism so its perfectly judged. Chap was also excellent in Six Feet Under so its demented to even suggest that the guy is a poor actor. :o

    Anyways back to recommendations....

    British Telly

If you Liked Sherlock then you should like The Shadow Line, its quite twisty but its very enjoyable featuring some quality actors and to top it off a superb turn from our very own superb Stephen Rea. It's BBC.

Not much other drama from Britain from the last few years to really get to excited about sadly, Charlie Brooker has some decent stuff, maybe have a look at Appropriate Adult? Its about Fred and Rosemary West, Dominic West is chilling as Fred.
(edit... This Is England, the TV series has its moments as well, evem if sometimes it tries to hard to shock)

Comedy wise from the UK, Peep Show, Thick Of It, 15 Storey's high, Rev, Jam, Brasseye, Spaced, Black Books, help are just some shows that should make you laugh.

Yank wise, I'd say Game Of Thrones and the gloriously underrated Delocated which reminds me so much of Curb and Arrested Development deserve some viewing.

I just noticed my post count. I think I'm posting too much lately. It wasn't that long ago (probably a couple of weeks) I noticed I was on 998. Now I'm nearly at 1500 :o

New Girl is brilliant except for Zooey Desawhateverthefuc*hernames singing in every Episode/Movie she's in. And 2 Broke Girls is also awesome if you enjoy that How I Met Your Mother style US Comedy...

At the premier of Glenn Close's movie "Albert Nobbs" (which my brother had to go see for a Uni assignment), we're sitting in our seats. Two minutes before the move starts, we look up behind us, and three rows back, there's Mr. Higgins himself, sitting down to watch the movie as well. Went up and shook his hand, but there was a many people there wanting to say hello so didn't do much else. Was weird sitting so close to him, laughing at the film.

My Mom got up to go to the toilets at one stage but didn't know where they were. Approached what she thought was a group of cinema stewards but actually turned out to be his security escort. They apparently started to panic a bit cause they thought she was telling them something bad was about to happen :P

I'd be more inclined to go behind the goals myself near the Bohermore side. The main reason was that this happened at the first match I ever went to in the Sportsground
