Can't wait to see the Walking Dead's return tomorrow night. Found myself actually caring about the characters during S2 as opposed to just getting excited whenever Zombies hit the screen :)

Stephens green shopping centre, top floor public toilet springs to mind. Everyone waiting for the hand-dryer to go off before unleashing hell.

It was awfully slow for the first half of this season, but they have said it picks up now. Since I adore the comics, I'm quite happy to stick with it....

Said I'd volunteer for a charity once a week and within 2 seconds of hanging up the phone a check for 2000 euro comes from the college and Rag Week starts on Monday.

    Thank you Awesome Kong.

Ah sorry, my bad, I thought it was more of a off-topic wrestling stuff that doesn't really fit in other threads than a totally off-topic thread.

Totally off-topic I can't think of anything to say. Eh all this tv talk - my favourite programme is Dexter and I want to be just like him when I grow up. Also a big fan of Pointless. I'm full of useless knowledge.

I'm a massive fan of Dexter as well. I'm about......8 episodes into the current season. Not so much a fan of Tom Hanks' kid! Looks like a creepy sex offender!

Any TV shows you'd recommend? The latest one I've gotten into is the excellent Sherlock TV show from BBC :)

I'm about 5 episodes through season 5. Only discovered after Christmas so tbh 5 series in 5 or 6 weeks has probably warped my moral guide. When start identifying with serial killer time to take a break.... Still have to check out walking dead.

Have Dexter sitting on my shelf, waiting to be watched.

I just finished and loved Merlin, but then I'm a sucker for BBC Saturday night family shows :P Working through Misfits, which is awesome if you can put up with gratuitous nudity :P

Sons of Anarchy is very good it has just finished it's 4th season on FX

As for new shows I found Homeland and American Horror Story pretty good

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,478 ✭✭✭✭gnfnrhead

Two shows from America. Dont know if either are on here yet.

Homeland and Person of Interest. Just two awesome shows.

Em, nothing in particular, just if a show's really good. I don't like drama; Boardwalk Empire, Dollhouse, True Blood that kind of thing would be out. But prime-time animations and action stuff would be in :)

How's Alcatraz? Isn't that show done by the LOST guy?

    Breaking Bad. Its bloody excellent.
Its going to be in its final series this year, although i have heard rumors that it will be split into two mini-series', so its perfect time to get into it.
All 4 seasons arent out on dvd or even shown on tv here so i would have no idea how you could watch it.. to be honest. ;)

The lost guy? JJ Abrams? Its good, its very different yet very close to lost.
Both shows involved an island with some sci-fi kinda priorities both with people trying to find out what exactly they are.

But to be honest thats where the similarities end. Like i loved lost, the characters, the developments of the stories, the intricate connections they all had to each other etc etc. Alcatraz hasnt really got that yet, if they do at all.
Alcatraz has a straight forward premise, though. The prison closed in 63 and all the inmates were dispersed out to other prisons, but really the truth is they all just disappeared without a trace, until now when they are showing up performing the same crimes they did 50 years ago, a lot easier to try explain than lost.
