Posting to introduce myself as may start posting on forum a bit if world of wrestling can reel me fully back in. Haven't watched in 10+ years when was a big fan before lack of sky sports got in the way. But now slowly starting to watch bits here and there since the Rumble.

Actually not a lot has changed - Taker, Kane, Henry, HHH, Foley, Jericho, etc are all still hanging around from my time. Where's all the fingers and crotch-thrusting gone though? And why is there two belts!?

Not sure yet who I'm a fan of but Jericho was always a favourite of mine. Like the look of CM Punk too. I'm not that critical/analytical of the technical side of things, I'm more about the Entertainment side of things than the Sports part.

Or maybe I'll just be a Rock type poster and show up just before the main event and disappear after it for the rest of the year?

WWE went PG to the extreme a few years back when Linda McMahon decided to run for congress and they decided they didn't want the whacky world of wrestling used against her. Not that it helped; all her opponents had to do was go back a few years and there was plenty of ammo. :P

As for two titles, the two shows tour separately, and thus both have their own world champion who headlines the events. It also used to be a case that Raw and SD had their own PPVs, which would also be headlined by different champions, but since that ended, and they started having Smackdown guys on Raw, there's been a lot of people calling for the unification of the titles.

Hmmm, good to have you back! once bitten its hard to shake! although it could be a difficult transition from what many regard as THE greatest era in pro wrestling, to storylines involving Cena, Ryder and an ambulance. Far cry from Rock Austin at the top of the card.

They also have some sort of deal with Mattel I think. The toy company, i remember hearing they have some sort of say in the content.

Thanks for the welcome. Seems pretty relaxed from reading but if it's like soccer and people attack any and every opinion you have I'm out of here!

I suppose will take a good while to feel the love again as I'm not in on the any of the development of the angles yet having only been drawn back in since the Rumble. Wasn't over-awed by RAW yesterday but it seems to have been a weak episode bar HBK. Anyway I'll stick at it and hopefully can add to the discussion here.

The Angles are pretty straightforward these days to be honest, you may find Smackdown a better watch though for two reasons:
1. Its weekly showing is on at much more sociable hours.
2. A lot more wrestling heavy. Smackdown over the years have kept the same old feel to having storyline antics equaled with the same amount of time allocated to the in ring action.

But we're not always on about whats going on in the here and now, either. Theres more often than not some sort of discussion going on about something nostalgic to feed that side of us.

hey smallerthanyou, welcome to pw boards! We're all amigos here, everyone does their bit of making the place pretty easy going. No "internet gimmicks" like the yanks do!

good time to get back into wrestling, the road to wrestlemania Over the last 2 years WWE have started putting the foot down about making new stars (sticking with it is another thing!) and Vince Russo's just left TNA as well, so bit of a new leaf. When the current crop are firing on all cylinders it'll be a great product.

Watched Drive tonight, thought it was going to be better. I had limited knowledge other than "Stunt driver does some driving for local criminals on the side." So i suppose it was my own fault for not looking into it more.

Will do. I already have a fair idea the ones that I'll prefer. Big fan of the more acrobatic type wrestler so once I see some more actual wrestling I'll have more of an idea. Surprised when caught some just before christmas and Henry was the champion. Last time I watched Vince was trying to humiliate him out of his contract with May Young. It's not that I don't think big guys like him have a place, I just think that place is before the Divas matches rather than the main event

Mizark has improved big time over the years. He was pretty great as champion and right up until he got injured. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised if you give him a chance once he's back.
