Decided on an MX-5 as my next car in a few months. Was quoted an extra €45 a year for a '98 1.8, happy days! Should be a fair bit nipper than the 1.8 in the current motor too as well as significantly better handling, being RWD.

See if you can get an RS model, they have bilstein dampers, more chassis bracing and supposidly a more powerful engine that redlines at 7500, lsd too. I had one and it was a blast on backroads.

I meant to post this in the off topic thread. The dude with the grey hair there owns that car, we changed the clutch on Saturday. Handy job on those cars, we would have done it inside 2 hours had we not been pricking about and nattering like aul ones

Are they splits? If so you can buy a band for them.

Yeah they are. Would it not be cheaper to just get the wheel refurbed? I mean its not really that bad in the grand scheme of things but ya know!

Ah, If it is a light kerbing then I guess a refurb would sort it.
Wouldn't be able to suggest a company to do them though as I have no idea who doe's them.

Just had a read of this. Maybe you could chance it?

There is a place in Finglas call Wheel Wizards will give them a shout and see if they can do anything about it. It's just grazing around the rim so should be an easy fix.

I got the all too common Friday 'we have a deliver out for you' then didn't bother their holes actually showing up with my tyres.

Camskill use City Link which in return use a crowd called Target Express in Ireland. To55ers.

Not to be confused with another delivery company with very similar name.

I've been playing with my Neptune ECU, getting the car ready for tuning. I'm doing all the basic ECU stuff so the tuner just has to do the Air/Fuel and Ignition Timing rather than waste time doing things like injector scaling, vtec crossover, launch control etc etc

Should be getting it tuned early next week

I kept checking my tracking number all day yesterday and it never moved from parcel in our system to out for delivery but it still said planned delivery was Thursday 0730-1730 and target (maybe target express, silver van, not sure) I think it was arrived 1745 but the site still didn't say they were out for delivery when they were sat in my hall. I didn't even have to sign for them which was odd.

    Shoddy.

I complained to Camskill and they apologised on behalf of City-Link but stated that they are tied to the Irish supplier that City Link use.

Typical Irish way of doing things. I've had the same with DPD mind you.

got some autoglym super resin polish the other day. washed the back of the car just so i could try it out. it starts raining of course so i employed the missus to hold the unbrella over half the boot door :D it makes it so shiny!

my room is filling up with bits too!

not usually a fan of induction kits but when i saw this carbon charger one for almost half the usual price on ebay.de i decided to go for it. its specially made for the z18xe engine so it fits well. quality is fantastic too.

    before:

    rtdyk0.jpg

all out except for the intake for the air filter which was a coont to take off. had to take off the grill and top of the bumper.

    after:
the intake is in the grill slats and its huge!

Didn't city link used to have their own vans here?? I'm sure I had a few run ins with them about using ninjas for deliveries a few years back.

So basically the only thing missing from your car is a real engine at this stage?:D

Was driving behind my car last night and spotted both my wheels wobbling very badly. Tightened the wheels but nothing was a miss. Thought my wheels were buckled (the rs4's.)

Turns out the spacers were warped, which are now in the bin lol

Picked up 2 of the H7 bulb kits in aldi for the price of one H7 from halfrauds. Damn good timing too, as my bulb blew on tuesday :D Now I've a heap of spare other bulbs though, the rest of the car uses LED's

Does any ballast box work with aftermarket bulbs? Wouldn't mind getting a spare set :)

Could you not put them on a Lathe and turn them down until they were true again?
