Got a set of 18" MV2 alloys and bought some part worn tyres, got two Michelin Pilot Sport PS3s and two Goodyear Eagle F1s with 5mm thread nearly €1000 worth of rubber for €280 :) Will be buying part worn from now on! The grip is excellent in the wet, cant get over how good they are.

Also got my exhaust done in souhans, got the backbox removed so it has straight pipes from the resonator back now with the oem tips because I wanted it to look stock.

Im happy with the sound and its nice and quiet when your on the motorway, its loud when you accelerate hard and you even gets some pops and crackles when you come off the throttle :D

Will get a better vid tomorrow

And not even a mention of whether or not the new alloys solved the original problem? haha

Put a new battery in her MINI. Saw that the battery that was there was all BMW badged up so got curious - Was it the original battery?

    Date code 18/02 - produced in the week18, 2002!

Really surprised to see a battery last this long. Makes me wonder should I have bought another one from BMW if they are that good! (Could have changed suppliers since then I suppose, don't think we'll need another 10 years from this battery either)

... the ole lad got 10/11 years out of a battery in his car too, a 1999 Hyundai Accent.

New SMD LED side repeater bulbs finally arrived from Hong Kong after a 2 week wait :D

So set about fitting them. Slipped into place perfectly, tested them and nice bright amber light. No blub errors or irratic flashing - brilliant!

    191658.jpg

Then tried to put the lense cover back on - too darn shallow to fit  Looks like a few mm difference really makes a huge difference sometimes :(

    191659.jpg

So annoyed with that I've now stuck a bunch of things on Adverts for some Spring cleaning

New Toyo T1r's all round, got rid of a nasty vibration I had in the steering, turns out there was a big bastard nail in one of my tyres, I had suspected a wheel baring.

While the wheels were off I checked out the dampers and confirmed that yes they are Buddyclub Racing Spec, I was 99% sure but didn't want to believe lol, I thought they could be Buddyclub N+ Spec which are the dampers made for road and track

"Today I didn't do something to my car"

Was planning on doing the Vanos seals and an oil filter housing gasket on the 325 at the weekend but have decided im not arsed :D

Im going to do it in about 2000 miles instead when its due an oil change and I pick up a few more parts that make sense to change at the same time.

This weekend hopefully de-chroming and installing the shadowline trim, installing the angel eyes and a long overdue wash / clay / polish / wax

Decided on an MX-5 as my next car in a few months. Was quoted an extra €45 a year for a '98 1.8, happy days! Should be a fair bit nipper than the 1.8 in the current motor too as well as significantly better handling, being RWD.

Have you seen many 1.8s around? Always 1.6's I see. The 1.8's (or some of them) had an LSD I think.

Yeah there's a few. Pricing is odd sometimes, a '98 could be €1800 and a '91 could be €2500! The 1.8 is definitely preferable though, but the 1.6 is supposed to be good too.
