Studied at eh is fas an exeptable answer??
Yes it is. I did a fas course which had work placement at the end. I ended up being taken on by the company and working for them for three years. I think that was far more beneficial to society than claiming the dole for three years. Don't knock it until you've been in the position of having no job, no qualifications and no hope of getting off benefits without something behind you.

How many Facebook 'Happy Birthday' posts that you have made would you have known/cared about in real life? I think this is another aspect of Facebook that draws people from their real life into a virtual social life.

Its just a token acknowledgement people feel obliged to make in case they offend the 'friend' in question.

The first year I was on facebook I got loads of 'Happy Birthday' posts from people. The following year I made my birthday private and didn't get so many posts. Point proven :pac:

Fellas are supposed to send the first text!

Are you texting from 1950? (If you are, you should really patent that phone of yours...)

Also, what happens if a "fella" needs to text another "fella"?! Do they have to ensure they both start the conversation at the same time?

Awh my comment disappeared similar to Fago!'s
I would prefer to focus on professional networks online or even would prefer to forge friendships with people I could meet online than flog that dead horse - the never ending secondary school friendships of facebook.

"I am only single becuase I can't find anyone that deserves me :)"

I nearly puked when I read it. Had "bollox" typed as a response but thought the better of it. youre single because youre a fat munter with a child.

Saw this on my newsfeed last week:

(Name) Is deeply grateful to all who gave up their today so I could have a tomorrow, you are brave and courageous souls, thank you. (11.11.11)

I wanted to reply with "Susie Q is deeply grateful to all who gave up their arseholes yesterday so I could talk out of them today, you are brave and incontinent souls, thank you (11.11.11)"... but I thought the better of it. :D

Nothing dumb about that post, respecting the dead.

Now if you had posted your "witty" reply, THAT would have been a dumb status update.

Don't know if it was here I read it, but someone wrote that they had changed their date of birth on Facebook to the wrong date just to see what happened, they got loads of birthday wishes, including one from their own sister!!!!

Was thinking of doing the same thing, just to see...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,508 ✭✭✭batistuta9

i've seen that happen before too, if you do it you'll get loads of messages but there only being nice by writing it on your wall. not everyone would be keeping people's birthdays in a diary or something

anyway i don't really see the big deal about the birthday messages tbh i don't know the exact dates of some of my friends birthdays and what's wrong with wishing someone/someone wishing you a happy birthday.

like if your out & some strangers/people you know hear it your b'day they'll 'happy birthday' you wouldn't really care that they said that to you, would you?

You're lucky you got any. Birthdays are for kids and 70 year olds.

Girls who think it's appropriate to post their whole relationship on facebook, "Wish he'd ask me out", "He asked me out", "we had a row today", and then post song lyrics about how they feel about him. Load of bollox

I just saw this Gem on my cousins wall (she's about 13).
R.I.P <Insert her own name here>, She passed away about 3 minutes ago. If you saw this & wouldn't care, stop reading. If you would go to my funeral "LIKE". If you would be sad or even cry comment with a heart "♥". - change the name and put this as your status & see who your "TRUE FRIENDS" are.

She told Facebook that she died to get a reaction out of them. I really don't know what to say to that one.
