Ye Mac,gotta do it to DVD format unfortunately.I hate this as my slow ass program/comp takes 4 fn hours to burn 1 disk.I just stream them now and hook the laptop up to the TV..Simples!

convertxtodvd is what ya's need lads.

thanks,i was thinking i was using the wrong disc,so the avi has 2 be converted to dvd format,thats ****.anit cheap either that program,the free trials on them never let ya do it properly,ah well, il just stream them,

What ya want is this, will convert mostly anything into anything & it is 100% free,

you have to go through two or three pages until you get the actual download link but this is the best converter freeware i have ever got, never use anything else really as you can tailor the bit rates etc to your liking.

cheers key, i think i have it..prisim video file converter? just convertin a avi film now to wmv.i think thats dvd format,or mpeg 4, sure ill know in abit,nice1 bud

wmv = windows media video = not dvd
mpeg = not dvd
dvd = dvd

all the above are ways of compacting a dvd file which is roughly 4.5GB in size down to 700Mb or so in size. like (mp3 = mpeg3 layered audio) compresses audio files down to a ridiculous level to save space. convertxtodvd is the best program for burning dvd's, as it uncompresses the video file, converts it, and also renders the chapters and then burns it for you all in about and hour.
