    Hi guys

I was just wondering if anyone here is going to college? Im back now, and it's so hard to make my points stretch out during the day!

Im into my second week of college, and I've just been so hungry all day, I hate this.

And also, what do ye do about nights out? We all know college involves nights out, i.e. alcohol, and I haven't been going out at all. I feel so unsociable!

I'm so frustrated, cos I was doing so well before I started college. Was having no problems whatsoever. I started WW in july, and so far have lost 18.5lb's. I don't want to give up, but I'm finding it so hard.

I'm in college, started back last week, and i have to say im finding things much easier! more structure and routine!

Give your self one or two decent nights out a month! you'll save lbs, points and money...without being totally anti social....i dont get out much....but boy oh boy...when i do....i make sure i make the most of it!

    Hey all,

Was wondering has anyone taken a week off exercise?? I'm wondering if it's going to affect my WI.

This may sound stupid but I actually find that when I do a week of exercise and then take a break for a week I have a bigger loss. I'm not sure what the reasoning is for it but I think it's similar to if you weigh yourself after exercise you'll be up.

I am! Like Lainy I found it much easier to lose weight while in college. Much better structure and no boredom eating. Is it possible to bring your own lunch? If so I'd def do that. It's not possible for me to bring my own lunch so I have a bag of popcorn at my break. Then for my lunch I have soup (I judge the points on a day to day basis depending on the soup!) and 2 slices of brown soda bread which is 5pp. They do low low butter in the restaurant which is great :) Then I'd have my dinner at as soon as I get. I'm in 9-5. I would be very hungry by the time I get home.

Re drinking I'm person who can go out and dance the ass off me and be stone cold sober!! I was out last week and everyone thought I was drinking because of my antics on the dancefloor  If not then maybe only have one big drink night a week or even every second week. And if you are drinking stick to a spirit 3pp and a diet drink.

Well girls WE'RE ALL-IRELAND CHAMPIONS!!! Pity its gonna affect my WI in this week  I hadn't intended on staying in town after the match but obviously I did. So I went to McDonalds for my dinner. I got the salsa and mayo wrap because I thought I had seen somewhere that they were 9pps. I can't find where I saw that now. Found it. It is 9pps happy days I was within my points :)

I was on the vodka and diet coke for the night and I did dance like never before so we'll have to see but I doubt I'll be getting that 2nd stone this week  I get my Davina dvd on Weds so working towards next week already!!

Om nom nom nom!! Just had the most gorgeous dinner. I have been compiling a word document of recipes I found on the internet and have copied a few from the philadelphia website. Tonight I had stuffed roasted chicken breast with sun dried tomato glaze and roasted thyme baby potatoes, it was DEVINE!! If anyone wants the recipe, i'd be more than happy to put it up :) Oh and it was only 10PP :)

Oh nooo ha ha. Hate that!! On the upside chillies apparently help you burn more fat/calories. So see you were helping yourself without even knowing it! Yoghurt or milk always helps......

Stuffed roast chicken breast with sun-dried tomato glaze

    Serves 4 - 10PP per serving (Total recipe = 39PP)

    Ingredients:

    4 large chicken breasts (16PP)
    100g philadelphia light garlic & herbs (3PP)
2 heaped tsp sun-dried tomato paste (I gave it 4PP to be safe)
    Low cal spray
800g baby potatoes (16PP, you could use less to bring PP down)
    Dried thyme
    Sea salt

    Instructions:

    1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Carefully cut the chicken breasts horizontally, almost all the way through. Open out, spread with the Philly and then close together.
    2. Meanwhile, par boil the baby potatoes for about 8 minutes.
    3. Brush the top of the chicken with sun-dried tomato paste. Place in a lightly greased (I used low cal oil spray) ovenproof dish and bake for 25 minutes or until the chicken is lightly browned and cooked through.
    4. Drain baby potatoes and cool under cold water. Chop in half and place in an ovenproof dish. Spray with low cal oil spray, sprinkle with sea salt and thyme and bake for 20 minutes.

I served it with 50g peas for an extra PP and carrots. Nom nom nom nom... :)

Hi Lisa...It really depends on how much willpower you have? I know I do need my meeting, its the whole thing of being weighed it, but also I do generally come out of the meeting feeling motivated for the week. On the other hand you could do what some of the guys here do, (lainy for instance), and weigh in on a particular day etc.

How long have you been going to the meetings?

Mmmm I know it is a bit late, but if its working for you why not try and see how it goes in the winter? Its only an hour, and I do understand, the last thing you want to be doing is hanging around, but it could be worth it!

Or perhaps give it up for 2 weeks (you get 2 days holidays a year I think), try it out and if it works dont go back, if it doesnt, go back!?

I have always thought they should have WW meetings on a Saturday morning, would be brilliant.

No it is tomorrow night, and yes I think I will go, even to get be back on the wagon. I pulled back today, and went to the gym and hoping I even STS, I gained 1.5 last week after working my ass off at the gym, keeping within my 29 points and only eating not even half of my weeklies!! So god knows how bad it will be tomorrow as I have been awful all week!!

well, i think it's cos my schedule is pretty varied that im having trouble. and also, I love my treat in the evening, so i try to save a few points for that. I'd really go crazy if i didnt have something sweet at the end of the day!

i don't know if this is allowed, but cud u post like a typical days food (while in college) for u? if u cant put the food, maybe just like how many PP for breakfast, lunch etc.

i really don't know why im struggling. i hate it cos ive been doing so well!! cheated tonight, which sucks. and weigh in tomorrow too! however, unlike some of my other "cheats", it was totally worth every bite, because i feel loads better after it!

Im back on Weight Watchers after a Summer of eating EVERYTHING! knew that goin back on some sort of sensible plan was inevitable so I started back yesterday. Put up 8lbs over the Summer so its not TOO bad but I really want to shift it before the Xmas season kicks in and 8lbs turn into 1 stone plus!

Im using WW online again. You are supposed to be in the UK to use it but its very easy to get around this and i find it helpful and well worth 12euros a month :)

Im having Danone Activia Faat Free Yoghurts for brekkie with a small amount of granola crumbled on top. This is coming in at 4pp

For Lunch....Today I had a carton of Cully and Sully Honey Carrot Soup and I was shocked when I pointed it that its only 3pp! Well worth it IMO!

Dinners and snacks are more of an issue and I have forgotten all the low point snacks that I used to line my cupboards with! Can anyone recommend some low point salty snacks. Im a sucker for taytos and salty crisps!!

    From the weightwatchers website:
Spaghetti Bolognaise - 9PP per serving

    SpaghettiBolognaise_n_lg.jpgspace.gif

    Ingredients
450 g Beef, Mince, Extra Lean, Cooked
2 medium Onion, All Types, chopped
1 medium Carrots, Old, Raw, coarsely grated
    1 clove(s) Garlic, crushed
1/2 teaspoons (level) Chilli Powder, mild
400 g Tomatoes, Whole or Chopped, Canned
    1 tablespoons (level) Tomato Purèe
1 cube(s) Stock Cube, Vegetable, (make 1/2 pint)
1 teaspoons (as purchased) Mixed Herbs, Dried
    1 pinch Salt
1/4 teaspoons (ground) Pepper, Black (Whole, Cracked or Ground), freshly ground
4 portion(s) (medium) Pasta, White, Dried, spaghetti

    Instructions
Heat a non-stick frying-pan until hot, then add the beef. Stir fry for 3 minutes, browning the meat and breaking up any lumps.
Add the onions, carrot, garlic and chilli powder. Cover and gently cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
Stir the chopped tomatoes, tomato purée, stock and herbs into the sauce.
Add pasta to a separate pot of boiling, salted water for 10-12 minutes, or according to pack instructions, until just tender.
    Serve with sauce on top.

From a blog, which I have pointed at 14PP per serving.
To make this dish for 2 people you'll need:

    250g lean mince beef
    6 button mushrooms, sliced
    1 onion, diced
1/2 red pepper, diced - optional (I used it on this occasion as I had one that needed using up)
1 400g tin cherry tomatoes (or chopped tomatoes)
    1 garlic clove, crushed
    1 tablespoon tomato paste
    1 tablespoon Tomato Ketchup
    1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
    1 teaspoon Balsamic Vinegar
1 teaspoon dried parsley (or fresh if you have it)
1 teaspoon dried basil (or fresh if you have it)
    1 Beef Oxo cube
    1 teaspoon olive oil
    Salt and Pepper
    140g spaghetti pasta

In a frying pan add the olive oil, onions, peppers and mushrooms. Fry gently over a low heat until softened.

Add the mince and fry until brown. Once brown, crumble a beef oxo cube over the mince and the vegetables and mix together.

Add the tinned tomatoes, ketchup, tomato paste, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, basil and parsley. Mix together and then season with salt and pepper.

Simmer over a low heat for around 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce has thickened and reduced a little. Check for seasoning and then serve with some pasta of your choice.
