I'd have the odd sneaky weigh in,but not very often. I don't own a scales cos I know I'd be up and down on it all day. I think if you are going to ww meetings, then just stick with their scales.. if you have a sneaky weigh in and your down, you may not try so hard, if your up or sts you may get disheartened and not bother for the rest of the week.. then the vicious circle begins.

    Up to you though!!

At my meeting last week there was a different leader and she told us that all our 'treats' should be taken out of our 49 weekly pp, and not our daily pp. Has anybody heard that before cos I really think this is incorrect...

Only you know the answer to that! I know if I knew I was up,I'd probably persuade myself to not pay to be told that, tell myself I'll start afresh and go next week...but sometimes that next week doesn't happen, and your back to square one..

Well maybe ask yourself what made you join ww in first place? Are you organised food wise,or are you snacking more? Maybe try set yourself a mini goal, like you'll have x amount off by Halloween? And don't beat yourself up over what you have put back on, otherwise you won't get back on track!

I would imagine Tesco will eventually update their packaging but will take a while. It's something for us all to bear in mind. ,Marks and Spencers have the points on some of their products, think their pp,but not sure??

Yeah, a lot of their "Count on us" range has the propoints on the back.

Ugh, I am actually smothering :( Upside is, I knew since before my wedding, this bout of sickness was coming, just sooo glad it held off til after wedding and honeymoon, but feeling pretty crappy. Does anyone know how many PP in halls honey and lemon sweets and the soothers ones too?

wouldn't have a clue, maybe find the NI online somewhere? But if your sick, your sick and I wouldn't be too worried, maybe point the pack at 3-4 pp? Unless you tried taking some honey in place of them and point that accordingly ?

Well, my understanding is that there are no rules about the 49PP. So that method may suit some people but I would think it's wrong of the the leader to say it SHOULD or MUST be done that way.
Some people can survive on 29PP a day even allowing for odd treats and don't use their weekly points much or at all so it wouldn't be suitable for these people I would imagine.
On the other hand, there may be people who also stick to near enough 29PP but a fair few of those points are used on treats. In their case they may not be eating enough good nutrition- packed healthy food. I think their would be merit in those people using that method because it restricts the treats allowed and it ensures that at least 29PP of proper food is eaten daily!

As I write this I'm actually thinking that method sounds perfect for me!!!!!!

I do a sneaky weigh in I like it cause I know if I'm doing good or bad and it does motivate me. so it depends on if it will help you along or will it only annoy you! ;)

blueshark22 good Idea so we can update if we want! we could put something in our signature either a ticker or just our goal! just an idea but either way we can help each other along:)

Well as regards calculating points try get the calculator cos the wheel yoke would confuse Einstein!!
Just read all the books from scratch and try forget all about the old plan.
The 49 weekly points are there to be used so if you're struggling do use them - no point killing yourself and being hungry on 29PP because that's not sustainable. Are you having trouble with anything in particular?

thanks. is everyone on 29 pp a day or does it differ depending on weight , height etc. the 29 pp seem fine for me daily actually, sort of struggle to use them all because im filling up on fruit and making yummy low point soups. getting the ww meals just to keep me right when im starting off. so glad i joined on here. every1 seems so nice and full of support.

The daily propoints you are allotted depends on your sex, weight, height and age.

Sounds like you are starting off well! Over time you may well start using some weekly points as it can be hard to maintain the initial motivation to be super-super-good but that's why they are there, to make the plan successful and sustainable in the long term. As regards the WW meals they are handy if ur stuck for time etc. but I think most people would agree that you will get better value for points if you can cook something fresh.

I have quite a massive amount of weight to lose so I'm on 45 daily + 49 weeklies. I only use my weeklies when im actually hungery...and i try to use them on extra portions of lean foods...I do have a massive appetite...i grew up with a feeder :( then i have had a bunch of other issues both emotional and medical that have screwed up my weight loss...and made me lose all motivation! I'd be doing soooooo well then BANG a bomb shell would totally derail me! and for the life of me my motivation would just disappear!

(last few weeks i've had feck all motivation....cant seem to get off my arse and do anything....i think being cooped up in the house all summer was really getting to me....cabin fever....isolation....boredom....lonely)

As we speak I'm scrubbing a lunch box and measuring it so i can find an funky insulated sleeve :) so i can bring a funky tasty fresh lunch to college :D save money and points!

Yesterday I did track every bite i ate :D Got a new battery in the kitchen scales, back to weighing everything!

College in the morning! so tonight I'm going to have my strawberries chopped up and ready, have my readybrek weighed out in the bowl, and have the milk already measured out in a glass. Smoothie + readybrek for breakie, going to keep my usual "morning mocha" for morning break in college!

This winter I AM going to do it! I've got a target event next summer! And soon enough the side effects from the injections I was on should be gone! I'm only in college 3 days a week! 2 days a week I'll be working outdoors in the rain and snow with horses! and weekends at home so I'll be walking the dogs, or using treadmills.

I'm not giving my self any "adjustment period" for college...cos i know i'll let one week "adjustment" run into the next week..and then i'll let it run right up to christmas!

14lbs by christmas! that will be the biggest present to my self! :D:D

I was in the 2eur shop in Athlone yesterday and I seen the lunch boxes you were looking for with the compartments and the cutlery.. not much use telling you that now though with collage tomorrow!

You seemed to be well organised and motivated for next summer!

I'm finding cooking from scratch with fresh ingredients gives me lower points and more food... win win situation!! I have not touched a ready meal yet!

Well I'll have some routine back tomrrow! going to take a look in tesco and see what they have. want something sturdy. :) dont mind spending few quid on it...if it'll encourage me to eat right!

Might take a look in 2euro shop as well if i have time :) Need something big enough to hold two slices of bread, then loose salad, not much...only enough to make a sandwich , lettuce, onion, and going to wrap 1/2 a large chicken, grilled and sliced in foil, so call it 9pp for a chicken sandwhich with some extra light mayo, and can of diet soft drink or water, and banana :)

well thats the plan...come winter when its freezing cold and wet might switch to cottage pie and quorn....or even some of the M&S readymeals cos we have microwave in canteen :)

Great attitude!! You seem to have a good plan in place - and I really believe planning is the key.

Well I'm still on track and still feeling motivated. Had a heavy night on Friday and was pretty hungover yesterday. I've written off my weeklies- Friday was hard to point. But I've drawn a line under it and back on track today - we'll see how it goes Tuesday.

3lb from goal!! I'm hoping to get there in the next 2 weigh ins - I'm nervous about getting there though. Maintaining has always been my down fall but I feel I've learned so much more this time than any other time I've lost weight and with the increase in my exercise I am confident that time time is the one!!!

Add the whole garlic cloves, rosemary, olives and chopped tomatoes to the casserole. Pour a little of the stock into the frying pan and stir to release the meat browning juices, then add this to the casserole, along with the rest of the stock. Return the beef to the casserole and bring to a simmer, then cover and transfer to the oven to cook for 1½ hours.

Stir the pasta into the casserole, pushing it down into the liquid. Replace the lid and return the oven to cook for 10-15 minutes, until the pasta is tender. Season and serve immediately.

Stir in the Thai red curry paste, chilli and lime zest, stirring for a few seconds, then add the coconut milk and stock. Bring up to the boil, then reduce the heat. Add the noodles, mangetout and baby corn and cook for a further 5-6 minutes, until the noodles are tender. Add the coriander and a squeeze of lime juice, then serve.

Silly question, but is it 13 propoints for the full receipe, 3pp per serving??

So yesterday wasn't a good day. But think I've kinda pulled back today. On 20/31 points today and if I'm hungry later [I don't think I will be, just had dinner] I'll have fruit.

    Question:
I'm starting a bootcamp on Wednesday, at 7pm and my WI is at 6pm - it's my first week so want it to be a good WI but I'm going to HAVE to eat before I go for the bootcamp. What can I eat? I'm aiming to eat around 4pm or 4.30, and I'll have had lunch at 12.30. Stumped as to what to eat!

Well will you be at home,as in will you be cooking or is it something to have in work? Also one thing I'd say is if you eat on the day of your weigh in from the very start you will be fine, it won't make a difference to your overall weight loss..
