Just had the WW ministroni soup (sorry about the spelling) for my lunch. Only 3 ppts. It was lovely and I fell full after it. When I poured it into my bowl I was disheartened cos it only filled half my bowl but I am quiet nicely packed :) after it. Will be stocking up on it for next week.

To be honest Hotfire I have no great liking for these WW soups, and would totally reccommend you make some homemade soup, you could end up with a huge pot with at least 4 good servings for a propoint or two, and the whole pot for not more than a couple of euro's max.

Does anybody here know anything about goal weights and gold cards? I have been going to weight watchers now for over 2 years and have lost almost 6 stone! I have met their goal and the one below it but i have a personal goal to reach which is lower than both of these but i am still paying... My leader says that i have to keep paying until i reach the goal i want to settle at! Does anyone know the story here, can i not just take my gold card and become free and then loose a little extra too?

Yea when I did it the last time we agreed a goal weight and it showed on my card etc. When you get to that weight you maintain for 5 weeks and then you get your gold card and your free. You have to go at least once every three months (I think). You can't go 5 pound above your goal weight but I'm not sure if you can't go below five pound or if you can lose more? But defo agree a set goal weight with your leader and saw you want to maintain at that weight. Congrats on that great loss!

Ya Caros, I agree but I just picked a few different ones up from Dunnes last weekend just for convenience and to try them out. I made two lots of soup last week from scratch. I surprised myself with my soup making skills lol. Will just have a few cans in the press for emergencies.

There defo handy if you have nothing prepared and you have to buy something low in pp and thats filling. I think I've stayed away from them because there always quite high in salt. I used to live on the knorr soupfuls but the lowest one is 4pp totally not worth it

Ya MaggieMay2, I agree. My pro points are precious to me so not going to waste 4 of them on soup. Could use that 4 points on treble crunch crisps and a jaffa cake :D Have to get organised to make homemade soup at least once a week.

Hotfire - you might find some here -

Well, I've been off the radar for the past 4 weeks. I had a month's holidays from work and my whole routine went out the window and WW went with it! I put on 4.5lbs in that time and I am now back at work and back on track. I have 1 stone and 8 lbs to go to goal and I am determined to get there. In my defence, I went to my WI and stayed for class every week, even though I knew it would be bad news. I also had to bring my little 2 year old boy with me but he has been as good as gold and everyone has a little chat with him now when we come in. I brought a portable DVD player and let him watch Peppa Pig during class - and fed him a few little treats too!!
I keep thinking that when people join WW the leader always says to aim for 1lb a week which would total 3.5 stone in a year. Well, I put on 1lb a week while I was off work, so if I keep going like that I will put back on the 3 stone I've already lost and another half stone on top of it! So here I am, ready for action once again.

I didn't even attempt to read all the posts I missed - I'd be here for a week, so I will just say hello and that I hope you're all doing well.
    What have I missed?? :p

Meh, a few gains...a few losses and a few STS's and a few motivational pep talks!! Just the norm :) Welcome back!! 4.5 lbs.....sure you'll have that blitzed in 2 weeks max :)

    1 large onion chopped
    2 cloves garlic crushed
1 litre veg stock - I use a knorr veg stock pot - 1 propoint
    350g carrots sliced
    teaspoon ground cumin
    2 celery sticks
    1 tablespoon tomato puree
    2 teaspoons lemon juice
    2 bay leaves
2 teaspoons olive oil - 3 propoints (you could use the low cal spray if you prefer)
    seasoning

Put onion and garlic in a pot with the olive oil, fry gently till onion softens. Add the carrots, continue to fry for another 5 mins, stir frequently.

Add everything else, bring to the boil. Cover and simmer gently for approx 30 mins until all the veg are very tender.

Discard the bay leaves, cool the soup a little and blend till smooth.

I go with 1 propoint per portion for this and it's delish!

Dont tell me there are propoints in chewing gum. Not that I chew it much, but I bought a pack this week & didn't even think of tracking it.

OP, sorry for not answering your question as I don't know the points value of any of those things, but my god your diet is shocking. Sorry for being honest, but I just had to say it. I don't care if it falls below your points limit, as Weight Watchers is not a healthy eating plan in my opinion, but would you consider learning about what you're putting into your body, rather than the points value of your daily food intake? It would help you out so much in the long run. WW will not help you in the long run. It's been proven. My advice to you would be to read the stickies here and follow this forum for a while.

Edit: Sorry, this was in response to Maggot12345's thread at 15:19 which seems to have been merged in here just as I was replying.

oh god this again......everyone is entitled to there own opinions....

but yeah hmmm gotta slightly agree with frog ... regardless of the points...if its not good healthy food....its not going to do your body or your progress any good. for ww to truely work and be maintainable and doable....it is about healthy eating, counting points is just another variation on counting/tracking food intake, no better or worse imo than counting calories...someone could eat 1500 calories in chocolate...or they could have 3 healthy balanced meals....the same can be done in points....

(yeah i know i said i was going to keep quite....just wanted to give my 2cents and that it is about healthy eating....there are ppl that abuse the system of course, but those ppl will eventually cop on, cos they wont see the results they want)

Down 1.5, only another 1.5 to go until my 5%. 9.5lbs off in three weeks, delighted with myself!

Can I just make a teeny comment, I love following this thread and I know we all have off days and off weeks, but that's what the weekly points are for on WWpro - comments like "your diet is shocking" really don't help anyone and can send someone off into a comfort-eating binge to make themselves feel better. If someone doesn't believe in the points system then fair enough, but there are lots of us here that do. Anti-WW comments aren't really necessary. I would assume that the majority of people here are well aware of what constitutes a healthy diet, but we need a little kick up the bum every now and then and that's where the weekly weigh-ins come in. Just because we're on WW doesn't mean we're going to eat 6 packets of crisps a day. We're trying, let us get on with it please and thank you!

Oh my goodness don't fret I didn't want to cause a panic. Eating it rarely is no biggie. I ate loads of it. I gave up cigarettes and was using them to elp so I could go through almost 2 packs of Wrigleys Extra a day. So there was points in that amount!! I'm just going to have to kick ANOTHER habit....meh :(

I quite agree, that is not a healthy day at all however she did say it was today and not that she eats this consistently. We all have bad days so I wouldn't jump the gun to thinking this is a standard WW diet.

My food diary for today for example:
Breakfast: Porridge Cherries & Black Coffee
    Lunch: Chicken & Avocado salad
Dinner: Risotto with Chicken, peas asparagus, courgette, parmesan and creme fraiche.

Possibly a bit carb heavy for the majority on this forum, but it works for me.

2 small cuts brown sliced bread+flora light margarine

    tea+milk

    2 small brown sliced+flora light + 2 slices ham+ mustard
    tea+milk
    1 apple

Other then 1 apple did you have any fruit or veg you really need to have them to keep healthy and you need to cut down on the bread staying within your points is very important ,
but eathing well is the most important aspect
if the 3 squares of butter are 3 single pats in a restaurant then you are talking about 6 pp on butter alone and the scone is 4pp for 50g

Also you need to allow a pp for every cup of tea with milk or the best is to measure out some skim milk in the morning in a jug and have it with your tea through out the day.

Sorry if i sound so harsh but the best way to go from the start is to eat well balanced meals and healthy snacks....I am no angel when it come to food but i do incorporate lots of fruit and veg and lean proteins and though I use a lot of bread i weigh it all....

you really need to get out the book and weigh and measure everything till your confident of the portion sizes It hard at the start but i can tell you the weeks I track and measure properly i always lose2/3 lbs
Hope all goes well on your Journey

Exactly. You just gotta be realistic sometimes. Yeah, there are points in most things but when you're sick you gotta put your health first and a couple of chewing gums are never gonna be as bad as a packet of biscuits :)
