yea.... but is he irish or british?

take this somewhere else, this thread is about the us open, not to discuss the nationality of a golfer.

Don't get me wrong...I hope McIlroy wins. I just don't think that he will (even now). Too much arrogance masking too much fragility.

Your entitled to your opinion and tbh I'd rather enjoy the golf then get into the old arrogance/confidence thing with you.

Missed a good chance for birdie there-still motoring nicely though..looking forward to seeing how Lowry copes with the afternoon.

Still on course to claim the Saturday Slam so...

My heart goes out to anyone that's backed Rors. I sincerely hope that he closes this one out but I genuinely expect another spectacular collapse (accompanied by the usual horsesh1te on Twitter). But it'll be all okay 'cause "Rors" will have plenty more chances to win a Major (just like Sergio).

Dont have to go to twitter to read horsesh1te by the looks of it ;)

    blackwaterfish was being sarcastic/ironic.
My sarcasm detector is currently set to low (itchy ban finger) but even I spotted that one.

Backed Rory and Graeme for top 5 finish before first round, heres hoping they can end up there come Sunday night.

I'm guessing Rory drove the Par4 for his eagle?

ok. group hug then move on.

whats the deal with the uber soft greens... rain overnight?

or did they water them excessively overnight for fear of browning?

Rain yesterday evening with about an hour to go of play, then it bucked down last night. I's say the committee will have the sub air system in overdrive after today's round with nasty pins for the weekend

And more soaks coming over the next few days:
