I'm the same height as you but a couple of stone heavier!, joined 3 weeks, my leader told me my goal weight was 10st but she did say NOT to focus on that now and take it step by step, so I'm gonna take it silver seven by silver seven instead. In my own head I'd like to be in the 11's but there's a way to go so ....
Good luck with it, the programme is very do-able and the people on this forum are a godsend with info and support!

thanks for that , il stick with it because at this stage il have to do it once and for all . Il concentrate on 7 lb goals thats sounds a bit better than 3and a half stone, lookin forward to my first weigh in. I hope its a good one so it will encourage me. what was your first weigh in loss?

if I go by the charts (like this one: http://www.disabled-world.com/artman/publish/height_weight.shtml) I have nearly 4 stone left to loose:eek:, it would put me around 11.5stone, whihc I think is too light. enven people I know think my personal target of below 13 is too low

    Morning all,

Just had my first weigh in on my shiny new salter scales!

Anyways I STS! I'm kinda peeved cos I pointed absolutely religiously for the week! BUT (and i know this is an ongoing debate..) It's the first time ever I've eaten all 49 weeklies?!!

I'm not sure if this is a contributor, it wasn't intentional either i just needed extra points every day because I'm starving with study!!

On the other hand as I'm chained to my desk I have the luxury of being cooked for now and while I have pointed everything there has defo been an increase in my 'food mix' as such this week-much more carbs than I would normally have. I don't ususally eat potatoes but had them for dinner 4/5 eves this week...
Can't really change this until after exams as I'm giving them priority and dont have time to plan/cook.
Hoping maybe my body just needs a week to adjust back after its "break" lol.

Anyways, new week and I've just started it with my first ever bowl of porridge!! I was fab-I had it with blueberries.really hoping it will beat the wheatabix and keep me fuller for longer!!

@Monife I had BLT yesterday on WW wrap :) Great minds eh.. it was nom!

The June bank hol is one month away..-7lbs anyone??!

Yes I'll take the -7lbs by that weekend! Nothing like a bit of a challenge or goal!

For those of you who go to the gym, and I really mean those of you who hated exercise when you first started, what kind of regime did you have when you first joined?

My new job that I start in 2 weeks comes with a free gym and pool membership which I am delighted with but I want to use it correctly if that makes sense. I love the cross trainer, the bikes and swimming (only breast stroke though). Hate the treadmill with a passion but can manage a brisk walk on it. Saying this now its not like I do any of those things but have tried them before.

My friend who is a personal trainer says anything that makes you sweat for 30 mins 3 times a week is good but in fairness he's not the one that needs to loose weight and tone up. I have no idea what weights to use. Ugghh excited but also dreading it! Gonna have to get used to it cos the job also comes with a free 3 course lunch every day

up 1/2 a lb. but thats okay...cos thats kinda 2 weeks of less than perfect eating really!

oooh lil discovoery for my fellow porridge eaters

ALL flavours of readybrek, original, honey, chocolate, are 3pp per 30g....they also stay at 3pp if you go for 35g :P

in the bowl 30g of readybrek looks ALOT more than 30g of flavhans. and different flavours give a few options

And you know what.....i'm going to ENJOY the party tonight....one night isnt going to put back on the 2st 10lb i've lost! ONE NIGHT....I'm only human....and damn hard working one at that!

Lost 5 pounds the first week and 3 1/2 pounds this week so it's got off to a great start, will be happy with a pound or 2 weekly after this, the first couple of weeks generally show good losses and it evens out after that. I'm aiming for the 5% next which would be 11 pounds gone.

Even when I set up my ticker thing below I only did 2 stone to lose as my target to start and then after week one weigh in I adjusted it to 3 stone and now this morning I've gone the whole hog and adjusted it to show my target as 11 1/2 stone which would be 4 stone 4 pounds lost. I feel i can NOW finally do it with this programme.

The ww leader didn't ask me what my goal was , do i need to tell her this?

Some leaders don't discuss your final goal with you until you've lost a most of the weight as they don't want you to think its too far away. They prefer you to take it a lb at a time. My leader only asked me last week what I'd like to get to and that's after 8 months. Its still not the official goal though.

Count me in. I'm doing the mini-marathon that weekend so once these exams are over I plan on getting some training in for that so hopefully it'll kill 2 birds with one stone :D

Had a very bad day foodwise yesterday. Was wrecked after my exam yesterday so just binged on chocolate and then didn't have dinner because I felt guilty about all the junk I ate  I pointed most of it though so just gonna leave it and start a fresh today. Still should be within my weeklies though so it shouldn't do too much damage. Still hoping to be down a lb on Weds though so gonna be extra good.

Lainy enjoy your night out you're in the middle of exams so you deserve it :)

I've been meaning to tell ye, I have type 2 diabetes, diagnosed a few years ago, blood levels went thru the roof after Xmas, was feeling crappo etc, GP upped my tablets and put me in for a call to see the endicrinologist with a view to being put on insulin. Have the appointment for May 24th. Tried healthy eating on my own with varying degrees of success re my blood sugar levels and zero weight loss. However since starting WW my bloods are consistently within the "normal" range, and the bonus losing weight too! Don't think I'll be a candidate for insulin shots now!

there are loads of different types of flahvans...mine never turns out gloopy...i think my microwave is pretty high so cooks it a bit more. lol i load mine up with splenda and cinnemon to sweet it. i find the ready brek runnier than the flahvans but its nice. i'm sure there are mini packs you could try. its all trial and error.. the readybrek comes in chocolate and honey flavour too.

I've got 4 dogs booked in for next week for my new grooming thing i'm doing at home...not even the scales can put me in a bad mood today!

4 dogs...thats like 1/2 my rent for the month! I'll actually be able to afford to have a life again

Well done, will you still have to take the tablet, I have to lose weight to keep diabetes away, had it while I was expecting and on loads of insulin 7 injections a day. do not miss it at all, took a few weeks for my blood sugars to return to normal which meant I had to stay on the diet and check my fasting levels, only got the go ahead to stop two weeks ago my GTT came back great. now to keep it that way. keep up the good worksmile.gif

I had the points on Thursday to get a takeaway its been I say about a year or more since Ive had one LOL, I got a special chow mein and it was muck could not eat it at all felt yuck after wards as well any one else find that!

I don't agree with the leader asking people to ignore the child. thats horrible in my opinion. I have kids myself and I don't stay to meetings at all because we have 4 kids altogether one being 5 months old and my meeting is at half 5 so its an akward time to be staying. I don't bring the kids with me, I did once. I brought in my 2 yr old and my 11 yr old but as I said i only get weighed. but if i did stay with them I would be so annoyed if she said that about me

on another topic I had to get a filling this afternoon and my mouth is still numb!!! I'm trying to think here what to have for my dinner but really want my mouth to be back to normal before I eat lol :)

Oh I bought that minute steak in Aldi today. How many pp are in them again?

    4pp for the minute steaks:)

ugh....think ive drank all the water by can take for the day....trying to make sure i'm totally hydrated...before the the drinking....i'm saying oh i wont drink....but who am i kidding.....its a house party...its right next door so no taxi home....there shall be drinking LOL. We're all doing part of the catoring so at least i what food will be there tonight.

Spanish omlettes, pasta and noodle salads, roast pork, roast turkey, rice dishes, kormas, salads, that sorta stuff.

I've had about 3 litres of water (if not more)

, had readbrek and skinny mocha for breakie (6pp)

I'm having a full 250g milano pizza with salad for lunch for 16pp. I figure if i have a decent sized lunch (kinda dinner for lunch thing) I'll just be getting suitable hungery later for the party...wont be starving and end up pigging out....i'll have 21 dailies left plus can dip into my weeklies if i need to.

i cant go around avoiding every party for the rest of my life! ww is a healthy way of eating for life....its a lifestyle....not a "diet".

This is why for me Pro points is so much better than the old plan....i can go out tonight....and get back on track tomorrow morning as it didnt even happen...where as in the old plan....one night out..and your kinda paying for it all week, trying to scrimp and save points everywhere possible...that was just mental torture...

And for newbies to ww and this thread....this place is just beyond great! You really get out what you put in. No question is too small or stupid...cos there all questions we asked when we started....

A few weeks ago I was in the horrors when I lost my ww calculator...i really didnt know how much i used it until it was gone....well incase they dont want there name put out for all to see.....but one of these amazing people...PMed me and wanted my address so she could send me a new calculator cos she knew i was doing it from home so would end up paying a fortune on Ebay for one....that blew me away....i was speechless!

this place is good, safe, comfortable, we all have different reasons why we want to lose weight...and different reasons why we gained it in the first place... some times we complain.... sometimes we vent.... sometimes we rant...but thats all apart of it....cos well...before alot of us would have prob just gone to the press and take a packet of biscuits....where as now we'll have our rant here....and we might take A biscuit instead of the whole packet!

Sorry i'm just in a very relfective mood today :P thinking about where i was....where i am...where i'm going to be kinda thing

That is so true, I think that is what always put me off ww was the fact that it was so hard to have a night out at least with this new plan you can have a normal lifestyle and socialise:D

    Lovely post Lainy :)

I'm halfway through my exams. Not sure how I've done, I have a horrible feeling I'm going to be very disappointed when my results come out.

Blown a lot of weeklies on junk food this week but exams are my priority, so if eating half a ton of chocolate makes me feel better so be it.

Made chicken and broccoli pasta bake for dinner, 10pp per portion, with some steamed veg.

Going to be cheeky and have a glass of wine tonight too, no more exams until Tuesday!

For some reason I'm feeling very sorry for myself so I went into Easons and bought myself a new notebook and highlighter, always makes me feel better about studying, I'm a stationery whore :P

This time next week I'll be finished....bring it on!!
