no point lying , just lying to yourself and at least you can get some positivity from people on here

I'm weighing in tonight...I'll PM you when I get back!

    Hi All,
I've been lurking around here for quite some time now so thought it was about time I posted and participate rather than just depending on you all for motivation!!

I've LOADS to lose - 6 stone! EEK!! (and thats only my goal - they never said in WW and I think I'm best not knowing) I have been completely ignorning that little number and working for silver 7's BUT I keep falling off the wagon. With every lapse I dont go to class cos I just cant cope with seeing a gain.
I started at the beginning of Feb and so far I've lost 13lbs and I'm completely fine with that although I know it's not really a lot. The day I rejoined there was a poster up in the class with a comment something like ...

"Just 1 pound per week and you'll be 3 stones lighter this time next year" (their words were punchier)
Something about this comment just clicked with me and I thought 1 pound a week is very achievable **ahem**. So I'm plodding along, sometimes STS, sometimes down 2, etc. Some weeks I'm disappointed it's only STS or 1 lb but then I just think about that three stone in a year and I'm ok again. I've plotted a graph of the year showing the downward planned trend of 1 pound per week and also the actual loss and so far it's helping keep me focused as I can see a visual that I'm still on track plus I've mini goals built into it.
I missed the last three classes so I'm going on Wednesday and there had better be a 3 pound loss. I wasn't great the first two weeks ,but not Terrible either, and for the past week I've been doing great, staying under my daily allowance counting the APP gained doing at least an hour in the gym 5 days out of the last 7 (v. proud of myself). I ate & drank half my weeklies yesterday at a family BBQ but did go for a 5k walk to try counteract it and am not touchng the rest of them.

I'm off on hols on Thursday week and between this weeks WI and next weeks one I am determined to have 5 (realistic) to 7 (blindly optimistic) pounds off.

Thanks to everyone for keeping me motivated on this thread - it's way better than meetings! I swapped meetings after a few short weeks as there was something seriously self righteous about my last leader and I just wanted to throw something at her so now I've a lovely leader who is happy to take a minute for you at the scales but as I go during my lunch break I've no time to stay after the WI.

BTW iWatcher is the best thing since sliced low fat, low calorie, full taste, invisible bread! Never managed to track successfully before I had it and now every single thing I eat goes straight into it. If you are a techie person and have access it's worth every one of those 79 cents in gold.

    Sorry for the long post.

im 282lbs ( well as of last tuesday ) and i weigh in tommorow , thats 20 st 2 lbs and im a guy 6"2 and 30 years of age , i want to lose 4 stone , they say my goal is 12"13 WTF  id look sick at that weight , as i have a big frame and plenty of people say i look 16 stone , which is nice to know , but in my head im not happy and i need to sort it out , have a 3 month old boy that i wanna be fit for and my gf and me :) , so ive alot and i also use the iwatchr too its great , just got it last week , keep plugging away and dont worry about the odd mess up

Right....i think 5 hrs give or take a few mins here and there is enough study for day 1 :P I'm determined this week to get in lots of study...AND clock up pp on the treadmill! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE 5 lbs over the next two weeks....i really want to hit that 3 stone mark...i really think that would be turning point for me...to spur me on for the summer!

Music on! Runners on! Time to hit the imaginary night club in my head with the mini skirt up my hole LMAO :P (track ends cover dog hair and baggy t shirt it is then)

    lo
l funny you say that...tha article of the week on the ww site is about the importance of a good sporta bra when running and jogging!

Sports Bras: An Active Girl’s Best Friend

If this weekend's London Marathon inspires you to get moving more, make sure you've got all the right equipment, including a sports bra. Sports bra specialist Selaine Saxby from LessBounce gives her top tips for finding the right bra for you.

    Get some support
The uncontrolled movement caused by running or walking at a pace can put great strain on the breast’s support structure and ladies getting active without a sports bra can face the prospect of irreversible breast sag.

There can be two direct results of this breast movement:
Pain and discomfort which although temporary is likely to affect most women.
Stretching of the Coopers’ ligaments which support the breast. This is permanent and can lead to an irreversible droop.

    Finding your breast friend
As there’s no non-surgical solution, prevention is by the far the best option. For that you need a well fitting sports bra. Here’s how to find the right one for you:

Don’t buy the first one you find. There are far more sports bras available from specialist retailers than just on the High Street, so have a good look to make sure you are getting everything you want. For example, if you want wires, or side fastenings all these variations are now available in virtually all sizes.

Your sports bra should be the correct size for you with no bulges and no gaps.

You should always try a sports bra in the same size that you would wear your regular bra and if in doubt, get professionally fitted.
Jog on the spot in your bra before taking the labels off. It should feel comfortable and significantly reduce the bounce. If it doesn’t, there will be a better bra out there for you, so keep looking.

Your sports bra has a limited life and should be replaced every 30-40 washes as the elasticity of the fabric is damaged through use and laundering.

The cup should contain the whole of the breast and the fabric should appear smooth. If there are wrinkles in the fabric then a smaller cup size should be tried. The breast should be completely held in the cups without overspill.

The band that goes around the chest should be level at the front and back. It needs to be comfortable with the ability to take deep breaths whilst still being firmly in place.

Adjust the shoulder straps. You don’t want too much give between the shoulder and the straps, nor do you want them digging in. A good gauge to ensure the straps aren’t too loose is if you can fit the width of two fingers between the shoulder and skin.

Look after your assets whilst getting active - a good sports bra is as important as a pair of trainers for every woman.

Went out to do week 5 day 2 of the couch to 5k which consists of 5 minute warm up walk, 8 minute jog, 5 minute walk, 8 minute jog and then 5 minute cool down walk and well, I failed miserably!!! :(

Was in an ok mood and felt ready to go out. Started the first 8 minute run and I am disgusted with myself that I could only do about 90 seconds and then I stopped and walked until the next 8 minute run (when your one on the podcast tells me to run) and thought to myself, I would be really happy if I could even manage 1 8 minute run. So she tells me to start running again, and that time I only managed about 2 and a half minutes. :(

I don't know what is wrong with me. It didn't help that I felt like such a fat blob bounding (very very slowly) down the path along side all the skinny people and they were all passing me out with just their fast walk :(

I feel like such a failure and am starting to think maybe jogging isn't for me. :(

I went for my first run on 14/02/2011, and ended up having to walk the lot, which took me exactly 45mins

Now, 2months later, I am able to jog 90-95% of the 3miles and and do it sub 30mins!!

To say that I am absolutely delighted would be an understatement!!:D I'm happier now than any wednesday when the lbs fall off!!

    Oh, did I mention, .... I'm sooooooooooo happy!!:P

realised the next morn that I had an akward pain in my left ankle, havent been out running since.:(

When I started I hated walking, I'd take two buses to avoid a 5 minue walk. Now I love it and get off the bus two stops early to walk the rest of the way :P

Down 1.5lb tonight, very happy as I was doing great until last night when I drank too much and thought I'd undone all my good work!!

Monife - I am not the biggest fan of jogging (I can walk 10k in an hour but I can't run more than 5 min), cycling on the other hand is AMAZING and easier on the joints and boobs :):):):):) I know it's not a cheap as running (as you need a bike) but I have started going on 30k cycles and they are amazing... You feel so amazing after it and no where near as much impact on your joints!!!!

YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE, it's just not for you!!!

Just tagging on to this thread, in ww since Jan and have 3lbs to go to be down 2st. Am feeling great and delighted with myself - it hasn't been easy but definitely worth it. Used my extra 49 points wevery week (vino at the weekend) but exercise has been my saviour. Anyway that's the point I'm trying to get to, I go walking 3/4 times a week and maybe the gym once for weights. I am starting to build up a bit of jogging (about 15mins slow jogging during a 40min walk) - I am getting nowhere with the toning - am I wasting my time walking/jogging and do I need to focus more on weights/gym stuff. Any poitners greatly appreciated!

Thanks Bubbaloo :) I am only under my daily allowance when I subtract my activity points - I thought it was ok not to eat those if you dont want to. My mum also goes to WW and her leader told her not to touch her weeklies either - are different leaders taking different stances on that?

i dont think any leader should be telling people not to touch there weeklies...no wonder ppl are feeling bad about using them....if leaders are saying stuff like that...

the programme wouldn't have the weeklies as part of it, they they weren't okay to use....they are optional...but leaders shouldn't be scaring ppl about using weeklies.

Like if i've used all my dailies...and i'm genuinely hungery....i will use them...i dont go out of my way to use them, but i use them if i need them.
