Was probably you so - you had to slow for a car entering the housing estate on the right just after the petrol station on the way out the Newmarket road ;)

Why would you want you're beemers and mercs and such when you have cars like the two fords at the top of this page to look at, and I wouldnt be a ford fan, lovely jubbly!

because otherwise people might mistake you for preferring the above over beemers like ...

Another bloody stickie! If you spot a classic and take a shot please put it here rather than start a fresh thread.

I'll start, I spotted this Lotus Elan parked in Catherine Street here in Waterford. Had'nt seen it before. Today I also saw 2 Silver Clouds, and 2 Jenson Interceptors but they were moving and so was I :D

Hate to be joining this thread late, 400 pages of classic cars, we should start our own database to rival Shannon

Maybe not, I for one would cetainly prefer a Mk1 escort or Mk3 cortina over the 2002 or merc. For me it's down to the body shape and I'll allways go for coke bottle inspired over cornflakes box inspired. Modern ones have the additional offputing value of being "status cars" . That said there are beemers that I do like but the only merc I ever lusted after never went into production - the rotary powered W111(?). Horses for courses.

Funnily enough I met a guy who is restoring a Renault 16 at the weekend.

If anyone knows where he could source some front wings he would be very happy.
    there's a lad,in the village of Caim,just outside enniscorthy,called Patrick O'gorman.
who had a lot of old renaults sitting in his field, and i'm nearly sure there's a couple renault 16 there.
    hope that helps

^^ I love Mercs and hate BMW's, but on the above cars, whilst they are both sweet looking, the BMW takes it for me. It's a joy.

This MG Midget was parked beside me today, its seems in regular enough daily use,

Although, I'm not sure whether I would like to leave my convertible classic in a University car park overnight all week long , and there is a number plate on the back but I cant remember the number

I know where that is (UL), and you're right, that is not a place you want to leave cars overnight, especially on weekends!
