Maybe not, I for one would cetainly prefer a Mk1 escort or Mk3 cortina over the 2002 or merc. For me it's down to the body shape and I'll allways go for coke bottle inspired over cornflakes box inspired. Modern ones have the additional offputing value of being "status cars" . That said there are beemers that I do like but the only merc I ever lusted after never went into production - the rotary powered W111(?). Horses for courses.

there's a lad,in the village of Caim,just outside enniscorthy,called Patrick O'gorman.

This MG Midget was parked beside me today, its seems in regular enough daily use,

Although, I'm not sure whether I would like to leave my convertible classic in a University car park overnight all week long :eek:, and there is a number plate on the back but I cant remember the number
