BS. People are still getting kicked out of parties left, right and center. Only 1 out 5 tries, the four of us got to play together.

not sure how reliable this is

    http://www.techjackal.net/gaming/2010/11/20/call-of-duty-black-ops-patch-expected-for-ps3/
For anybody who is a gamer and interested in the PS3 version of Black Ops, there is a great patch that is going to be released. It is widely known that the previous Black Ops patch was released, bringing many annoying bugs with it.

These bugs included loss of gameplay due to lag, slow connections, and strange problems with networking and matching.

However, this next patch is going to not only fix that, but much more

The newly released patch will give a better gaming experience to the PS3 version of Black Ops. Players will not only receive a much better audio and visual performance, but there will be an overhaul on matchmaking.

This will include better selections based on network connections, internet speed, connectivity, and many other things. This will essentially make it easier for people to find playing matches. There will also be a decreased amount of lag and slowness in the game as a whole.

    I have my doubts

Saw that tonight too, happened a good few times.

They really did a masterful job porting this to the PS3.

How does someone talk for 8 minutes about the fixes that are coming, dwelling in particular on Ninja Pro being better because it's getting more like MW2, and sniper headshots damage values being wrong from the start, and making sniper scope up accuracy more like MW2, and the spawns being broken at launch being tweaked, and matchmaking being inferior to the previous game.

And the conclusion? "How much do we love Treyarch."

All told, MW2 key problems: the behaviour of players. BO key problems: baseline functionality inadequate across all platforms.

I know I don't play this anymore, but it sticks in my craw that people apologise for Treyarch when they haven't done a good enough job, yet the sales are record breaking. Fixing basic problems later while being rewarded in reviews and sales just means the next game doesn't need to be finished either.

I'm still convinced the PS3 version will never be 'fixed' - I think the problems in the game engine are not correctable by a patch or other hot fix short of dropping from 60 fps as a target and a full fix would require a recompiled game client. It should never have been released the way it is.

Hoping the PC patch really fixes the crashing/freezing problem. So close to uninstalling it and ****ing it out the window.

I think after this I wont be buying another COD title. They made such a fcuk up with this and I hope they lose alot of money and many fans from this shambles of a game.

Will give them one last try with the patch, otherwise its a big FUU to Treyarch and Activision.

I was reading the patching progress here

At the moment patch 1.04 will be going to phase 3 on monday so do Sony go in to detail about the patch or do they even care ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,686 ✭✭✭Kersmash

i dunno mate since the patch on the xbox ive noticed a big change in gameplay quality . in fact i dont think ive had any big problems since it came out other than some non black ops related connection problems (thank you UPC limerick )

Sorry I was unclear. I meant that if there's gamebreaking problems on PC or PS3 it doesn't work on all platforms, and it's not good enough that it's fine on xbox.

I got COD4 for pc, xbox and PS3, MW2 for PS3 and xbox - if Black Ops was good I wouldn't mind getting it on xbox. But I got Black Ops for PS3 and traded it in. I'm not buying an inferior game on a second platform to get it to work and even if I would the people I want to play this with are on my PS3 friends list.

Looks like the new patch wont be fixing one of the most annoying issues on ps3 to Quote david vonderhaar from today
If you referring to the infinite loading bar during map loads on PS3 - I should have more intel about that in the near future.

    :mad::mad:

Probably the most damaging of the bugs imo. I've had to
switch the ps off at the back about 4 or 5 times in the last few days cause of that ****. Really not good for the console im thinking.
