thanks, it was just a local cafe, not part of a chain but even tho they called them a skinny latte I find most cafes just use low fat milk not skimmed. i dunno if skim milk would froth? anyways i don't take sugar so i'm guessing theres about 150ml of low fat milk so around 1.5 but if anyone has more scientific input...?

some cafes use skimed milk it does infact froth :-) i always ask and if its skimed i just add it to my milk allowence i give myself a certain amount of points a week for milk usually a litre and add it on at the end the week this usually covers all my coffees!! :D

Corasam, i have recetnly turned to soya milk in my cappucinos/lattes.
It is better to have a cappucino as there is not as much milk due to the froth, and according to the WW book there is only 0.5pnts in 0.5 pint of soya milk
Soooooo a soya cappucino is less than 1/2 point = result :D

This recipe from the cooking club on boards - could anyone hazard a guess at points per portion?

    thanks

just started today, and managed to lose the points book from my starter pack already - i'm a disaster!! for breakfast i had a small bunch of grapes and some pineapple slices...i gave myself 1 point for this (half a point for each) does that seem accurate? i had a cereal bar too, but i know that was 2.5 points, just want to make sure i'm being accurate from the start!

    Hi,
Does anyone know which coffee shops use actual skim milk in lattes, its surprises me how many call semi skimmed milk, skimmed milk.

Also does anyone know how many points there are in Ballymaloe country relish?

Hi 100g of grapes (1/5 of carton) is 1 point. 2 slices of pineapple is 1/2 point.
    best of luck!

My personal rule is that if I am having chinese, I only eat a half the portion. It means that I make sure I damn well really want it before I order. Cos half will be going in the bin or the boyfriend. That way I can manage the points if I get a say chicken satay and boiled rice. Also you don't feel blehk and piggish for eating it all. ;)

How many points would be in the half-portion of Satay with boiled rice? I've recently started WW, and this is a personal favourite of the GF.

    Hi guys,

I went out to dinner last night and although I tried to chose well, I have no clue how to point it. Here's what I ate:

Starter - Caprese salad (plate filled with tomato and mozzerella with green pesto drizzle and basil

Main - Cod fillet. Served with porcini mushrooms, brocolli, cauliflower, carrots and mangetout (looked like small bit of butter on veg)

    Dessert - skipped

Cocktail - Free !! (so couldn't say no):D. Basically it tasted like a small watered down cosmo - made from grenadine, peach schnapps and rum - no alcohol taste thou

Thanks for your help - just need rough idea of points for all of the above.

It depends on the chinese you order from as sauces can vary greatly.

My local does a thin light satay sauce *perfect for me* so I mark it as 3 points for a half portion of boiled rice and depending on the sauce either 5-7 points for the chicken satay. (2.5 for the breast of chicken and 2.5 - 4.5 for the sauce)

If anyone else thinks I got the figures wrong please just feel free to correct me ;)

So either 8-10 points according to how its made.

Hi All, very new to this and need to some help..i am going for a family lunch in Luigi Malones next Sunday for a birthday and i have been looking at the menu online all weekend and cannot see what would be the best choice for a low point starter & mains (taking into account that i hate fish) ? Does anyone have any idea which would be the best choices

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 106 ✭✭cherryred

hi ruby - I would go for the onion soup (ask for no croutons or cheese) although I'm not sure how much oil they use. For main I would have the feta salad with just red wine vinegar.

Don't be afraid to tell them exactly what you want. So you could ask for the Chicken fajitas with no mayo and a salad. Or if you don't see something you like on the starter menu ask for a salad and vinegar.
