All the best for Crooked Lake (love that name) Get two good nights sleep between now and then and you'll be like new.

cheers chief - so many disciplines to work on in triathlon - napping/resting/sleeping are 3 of my favourites ;)

    ......along with eating:D

Personally I find that 'keeping the wife onside' is the most difficult disicpline in triathlon, closely followed by 'not spending too much.'

I suspect that the list of disciplines outside swim/bike/run/nutrition/rest are so many that they deserve their own post :)

    +1 on that!

Im no expert but I found my ability to get up early, train and be back home before 10am with breakfast invaluable ... last year ;) You can get a 4 hour bike ride in and some shuffling if you dont mind sleep depravation.

No, never been to that race. Although a long swim is good news for some - if its matched with a short run - it could be a fun day out ;)

You might be in luck, based on last years times and a quick gmap-pedometer route I'd say the run is about 4.6km

dare2be, is the route long or were the conditions tough?

What's goin' on interested - sure there's feck all training detailed in them last few posts!:D

Just wondering where you go when you go OW swimming at Bull Wall. ie do you head north parallel to Bull Island or south towards the south wall (watch the ships - they'ld think it was a torpedo headin for them)? Or do you head for Engerland?

    Cheers.

Short run but a couple of climbs along it which will prob make it seem long. Camlough has good great weather over the last number of years as far as i can recall and think Sat will be no different if forecasts are to be believed

Yeah - since Ive re-invented|regressed to running about the place instead of swimming - my swimming log is well ... largely content free. Plus I dont always put down my ow swims since they're often stop start swims as Im supposed to be helping people from the club with the ow swimming etc.

Id typically swim parallel to the wall .. so out to sea towards the steps at the end of the wall and/or back towards the wooden bridge for a bit. If there are alot of people about Ill tend to head out towards the south wall around a buoy or something and back ... depending on my mood I guess - was lovely there last night - sun going down behind the city.

Cheers interested for the Bull Wall info.
On the first part, I was not commenting on your training - you do plenty. I was just having a josh about all the questions and comments that had been posted above mine, which meant your log which is usually a page full of quality sessions was a page of jibberrish (not knocking any other posts - sure it's all banter). I think I better stop digging - this hole is getting bigger!!.

So another post taking up your space - sorry. Enjoy The Crooked Lake - but swim straight.

no worries chief - and to be honest - some might say my log has always been full of gibberish :) just more numeric and literal up until this page or so

Great result in Crooked Lake. That's some run split. Fair play. Good to see the "run Forrest, run" paying off :D
